The longest wait between content is like 4 months and that's between "big beefy chunks of content" like new raids, zones, MULTIPLE flashpoints, etc. What gap, specifically are you looking at, between which two patches was there a ten month wait without ANY new content, point it out, specifically.

THIS! I whole heatedly agree. If Makeb came with New planet, level increase, new abilities, Act Four Class Story, New race, New class, Mounts, Pets, Multiple Flashpoints, new raid, new tiers of gear, new crafting skills and a raise on the crafting cap, new schematics I would happily pay $40 for it. THAT would be a beefy chunk of content and worth paying for. But right now they are asking us to pay extra for something that doesn't really look all that much bigger than major patches that subs have had included in their $15 per month.

I think you'll actually hear the most complaints FROM WOW PLAYERS as the WoW expansions generally do come with quite a bit of content, here's what I got with MoP 30 days of sub New raid New dungeons New Class New race New zone New Story New abilities New mounts New pets New tiers of gear And I waited to buy it til the week after it came out and paid $30 which considering it came with a month of sub time meant it effectively cost me $15 Now for a measly $5 less or $20 with NO sub time however you want to look at it Makeb offers 5 level increase New planet and FACTION ARC ONLY (no class quest no act four) If you want to compare Makeb to an actual expansion, you gotta look at what you're getting. I'd totally be willing to spend 30-40 dollars on an expac for SWTOR if it came with all the things I listed in MoP but $10 for like 1/10 of the content just seems like a ripoff.

Yes, they are pointless to possess. I can make far more money and buy their products with my excess profits and Biochem actually gives me something I cannot get otherwise, reusable stims that in order to ACTUALLY BE GOD TIER I would be forced to buy and replenish on a regular basis. There is a reason two of my five level fifties are biochem and a third is cyber.

No. I completely 100% stand by my post. Biochem and Cyber are the most useful skills in the game by far and there is literally NO REASON to roll Armormech, Synth, or Arms. All the augments can be bought on the cheap with minimal investment and you do not need to buy multiple sets of them. They are a one time investment and you're done. As far as making money, I have over 10M right now and that's not even close to the MOST I've had and it's all from my op cyber selling armorings and mods and my sorc biochem selling exotech stims and adrenals. For BoP crew skill unique items and the best personal bonus and money making ability in the game, Biochem and Cybertech make the other crew skills look like a freakin joke.

Lol @ augments. 27 mods and armorings sell for about 30 times more than an augment, my exotech stims take fewer mats and sell for more per craft (3x per). And they are NOT BoP, so it's not like you HAVE to be. Honestly, I don't know anyone that says "if you want to god tier in endgame you need to go synthweaving man, how else are you gonna get dem augments?" EDIT: Additionally are you really ok with a crew skill whose entire point was "look at the cool useful armor you can make!" Now being relegated to "you can make these things that go in the armor you buy off the cartel market to make it SLIGHTLY better."

The most useful crew skill in pvp, which is what I do... is Biochem. It is also the most profitable. What specifically in armormech arms and synth weaving do you see that you HAVE to have one of those crewskills to be competitive? Honestly, even in PVE, you don't NEED to be one those three, I'm not even certain that someone in your guild HAS to be. Anything useful from those crew skills is BOE and certainly not BoP BiS.

But they can't give new schematics to crafters, if they do that what will they put on the Cartel Market? Honestly, crafting is dead. The only useful crew skill now is Biochem and MAYBE cybertech for end tier armorings and mods. All the cool new looks will be put up on the CM for purchase with real money, we will not be able to craft them or even buy the schematics to make anything cool. In game economy is dead, synth, armor and arms are pointless.

The big announcement is now up on the main page, it does not say we will be getting any fps, ops, warzones, classes, races, class story, gear tiers, daily zones, pvp zones, or anything. Only faction/world story arc and a new planet of quests, that is all. This is truly disappointing it will be by far the smallest "expansion" I've ever heard of.

What makes it double extra funny is that this same mindset doesn't require any proof whatsoever that the "expansion" is actually worth it. One: "They said it would be free!" Two: PROVE IT! One: "there's no proof it's worth it!" Two: We don't need any! Buy it now!

The fact is you don't KNOW it will have 4-5 zones, you don't even know if it will have new abilities. You have NO IDEA what's in the expac. The fact is, the specifically said it will NOT contain new class stories. They specifically said subs would NOT have to pay for it. And considering their track record, there is no reason whatsoever to believe that whatever they promise will not be completely watered down.

If you bought MOP one week after it realsed it cost $30, but that came with one month of sub... so if you were already a sub it basically cost $15... and came with new class, new race, new dungeons, new raid, huge new zone and honestly the best zone in the game with the coolest quests, new level cap, new abilities. Makeb has not advertised ANY of that. It's $5 less and so far ALL they have said is five levels and ACCESS to the planet.

So far the ONLY thing you are buying is "Access to Makeb" and "Level cap increased to 55." They are not advertising a new race, nor a new class, nor class stories, nor a new tier, nor new fps or ops or warzones. They are not advertising new gear. They are not advertising ANYTHING but Access to the planet and a five level increase. And I would not expect them to offer you anything more. That's why they want you to preorder the game IMMEDIATELY despite the fact we have no idea what we're paying for and it doesn't come out for at least 4 months.

There have been like four links to the quote where the lead developer said that... go read the thread before you comment. And no, we have NOT been given a "ton of content." That is a subjective evaluation that does not hold up to objective comparison.

This is not an expansion. Just because you arbitrarily raise the level cap doesn't make it an expansion. From what they've advertised, the amount of "stuff" in this "expansion" is about the size of 1.2. Basically what it looks like they're doing is anything that's the size of one of the first patches before F2P is now an expac and will be charged extra for, expect at least one of these every year. everything that would have been considered a 1.1a is now going to be a full on stand alone patch. 1.6a is actually 1.7 and 1.7 is now 2.0. Forever.

They specifically said that this would NOT include a continuation of your class story. They have been VERY CAREFUL about how they phrase this so they can point back and say "we never said it had class story!" According to what they've said it has a planet arc and faction arc, but there is no character arc, this is not Act Four.

The majority of "plans" on the survey had people who purchased the content patch receiving 30 days of sub time along with the content. Meaning that if you were a sub and you bought Makeb, it was very much worth it. This is not advertised as coming with any game time what soever. It does not say that the five days of "early access" whatever that means, will be added on to the length of your sub.
