  1. I am having the same issue of "game ver does not match server". But, I can still get into the game by not clicking the "ok". It would be nice to have a repair feature to check game files.
  2. I was having issues of stuck on server list that was grayed out. The solution was to update my video card drivers (nvidia). After that, I would log onto the server and my characters.
  3. I have one more comment on this matter. Not all MMO expansions give a lot of content in endgame. Anyone that understands software realizes that much of the SWTOR 7.0 expansion was done "under the hood of the car", with the software. Having the software engineers of SWTOR getting the "on the fly" loadout/tree changes, the swap between classes, having different class work with different character stories with almost no software bugs is quite the achievement. My hat is off to them. I have seen companies trying to do a faction of what SWTOR software engineers did and turn those games into unplayable messes. SWTOR seems to be running more smoothly and I am enjoying leveling characters. Good job SWTOR.
  4. Exactly. Also, the skill trees partly remind me of WoW glyph system in WOTKL (before it was wrecked), in that some abilities could be changed one way or another to add to a personal playstyle.
  5. The more I play the new skill system, the more I appreciate the brilliance. While one cannot do everything at once with one loadout. Each loadout offers some very interesting playstyles and tactics.
  6. I was not happy when the 1.0 talent tree system was replaced with the cookie-cutter system. The current talent tree system is in many ways better than the 1.0 talent tree system in flexibility. In addition, PVP is the hardest part to balance of any MMO. Nothing is set in stone. It is likely minor balance changes will be made to the trees. Some players complain about not much added to endgame. Truthfully, Bioware made it very clear the main focus was on being able to swap archtypes/trees and mix with various class storylines. There are some issues, but Bioware accomplished this very well.
  7. It sounds like you want to do everything at once. By the way, I am enjoying my Powertech Pyro aoe options, and the direct damage options for the Serenity tree of my Shadow.
  8. They want to create a choice of play styles between direct attack (force choke), aoe (blade blitz), or utility (undying rage). This logic in this is brilliant in that even those using the same trees will have different play styles.
  9. I am thoroughly enjoying playing 7.0. I started a Smuggler with a Powertech, which gives a completely different feel to the class storyline. I like the new tree system of choosing between direct dps, aoe, and defense/healing. Very well thought out, and making even those going with the same tree having completely different play style. Brilliant. Also, being able to choose a second class for each character is great, as well. Very good job Bioware.
  10. If the SWTOR expansion is one fifth the size, then one fifth the price is fair. Cathar race is reportedly coming. We have already gotten new battlegrounds, new raids, and new dungeons already. I will admit there is no new starting zones.
  11. Actually, the SWTOR expansion is not a ripoff. Here is why. The WOW Burning Crusade, the first and best WOW expansion, was $50 at retail when it came out. Now if the planet Makeb is the size of the later planets in SWTOR, such as Voss, then it would be a good deal. This is because Voss is a little over one fifth the size of landmass as what was sold in the WOW Burning Crusade expansion. One fifth the size would make the $9.99 deal for subs would make a good fair market price for the value of the amount of content offered. Also, increasing the level by five levels will also allow for more fun with hybrid talent tree builds. This was the true fun of WOW expansions until Blizzard foolishly destroyed hybrid builds.
  12. $9.99 for new planet is a good deal. I just ordered it myself. Besides K. Palace is one of the best raids in the game and it this expansion gives more hutt enemies I am all for it. Bring on the rancors. Though, a haunted dungeon would be nice (sci-fi equivalent to Karazhan).
