  1. Why am I forced to romance Nadia? (Male Shadow) I was using Theran as I decided to go tank spec, but then I got an apprentice. COOL! that sounds like fun. So I started using Nadia instead as I like the idea of a Jedi and his apprentice, and she is a sweet girl type character. I want to play as a classic monk type "no romance" Jedi. But then I have NO options at all where I can avoid romance with Nadia it seems. I want to be nice, but not romantic, WHY CAN'T I!? BTW, I think the fact that I actually care about this (and many, many other things) means that Bioware has done a great job on story and characters for this game. (Bioware's trademark style of course)
  2. The first, and most obvious thing, to check is his gear. Have you been keeping up on his gear? When I play, I try to think of my companion's gear as about as important as my own gear, and so try to keep us both at about the same gear level. When I do that, I haven't yet found any of my companions significantly undergeared. That said, the game does get harder (a bit) so you can expect you and your companion to die a bit more often as you go up in level.
  3. My first was a healing operative (no group play). Now I'm playing a tanking Shadow. Therefore all comments should be considered in that context. I think the DPS I get is just fine, and I love not worrying about my health (most of the time). It doesn't take too long to get the healing companion (end of Nar Shadaa), then you just jump in and have fun! It really doesn't feel like my damage is weak at all, and it DOES feel like I can take a real beating. In terms of mulitplayer? I have no idea.
  4. Power leveling: DON'T Why? If this was WoW, or some other MMO with significant end game content and lots of guild farming that content then sure. But this game is more single player focused than other MMOs, with okay to awesome class story lines (depending on class). If you power level, you are skipping most of the game. In a few years, given patches and expansions this may no longer be the case, but for now ... DON'T power level!
  5. I usually type in some random letters, with vowels appropriately spaced and see what comes up, eventually something I like comes up, or close enough that I make it. ex: retik wopyd nucer welin minuz boram (yes they are all dumb, but you could take one and modify it a bit to be better, the point here is to find inspiration) Or just steal an old mythology name. Evrion comes from my WoW name. I wanted to be "Orion" (hunter) but that was taken, so I did a variation on that that I though sounded good.
  6. I've gone pure healing so far, with Kaliyo tanking. Currently I'm at lvl 39 on Hoth (appropriate level). Works great. I actually like the healing idea, enjoyed my resto druid in WoW. Fights do go quickly. DPS is usually not an issue, on single player mob packs (1 strong +2-3 normal, or 4 normals) I can choose to DPS (with melee and close range stuff) or heal, whatever I feel like to get them down. On larger mobs. Elite or Champion, I have to heal, and can sometimes throw in a little DPS depending on the mobs DPS. I usually avoid these fights just because they take too long, and don't usually drop good enough stuff for me to care. I did one quest a while back that required me to CC one Elite while Kaliyo and I took down the other, worked out fine.
  7. The trick is to GET HIM TO MOVE. I found that I could aggro him (run ontop of him and hit him), then run. Or have Kalyio aggro him, then put her on passive for a moment to pull him down the steps. After that it's just a standard elite. My strat (as a healing OP) is Kalyio tanks, I heal and toss a bit of damage it healing is not needed.
  8. I take the line that the Empire would be better off without the sith. Good order comes from the administration, the Sith just muck it all up. I NEVER respect the sith, and will only follow their orders when they are telling me to do what I want anyway: hurt the Republic. There was a point in time early in my career when a sith lord, darth jadus I believe, asked me to kneel. I refused. Was lightninged to the ground instead. I'm on a mission now where there is a sith competitor, and I can't wait to wipe the smirk from her face!
  9. Love the idea. I was thinking something similar, where I would like to have the option to rewatch dialogue, or at least be able to re-read the entire text before making a reply. There are time when things IRL distract me for a moment and I miss some of what is going on.
  10. I can agree that there are times when my character has said things that I didn't think he would based on the selection I made. BUT I love how I don't need to read out the full dialogue, AND I like that I don't know what choice is dark or light before hand. That way I'm role playing, rather than min-maxing. Therefore the change needed is: make the dialogue in game match closely with the choices given more.
  11. (I'm not sure I can help, but I think a bit of information is missing) Is it a downloading issue or an installing issue? Does it not do a full download? (how big is the download?) Or does it fully download the game and not do a full install?
