  1. Well, to be specific I would want to see the following changes to actually start participating....

    - Joystick support

    - Battle mode with all base ships, no upgrades, boosts that drop based on performance only (note that the current mode would stay in place as expert mode)

    - PVE training mode with a few NPC vessels to practice

And then, if I could really get what I want.....

    - Planetary surface maps with ground targets

    - Large spaceships in the battle with the ability to land, board and fight on foot in basic avatars/man turrets/sabotage ala Battlefront

    - Multiplayer ships (our personal starships) with turrets and some combination of long and short range weapons/strong armor

Finally I would like to see the hangars become strongholds, with the ability to decorate them.

  2. And I must laugh at your claim that KotFE/ET delivered some "great storytelling" - it was the least Star Warsy Star Wars content ever, so full of holes you could drive a fleet of Death Stars through it, 90% of it made NO SENSE AT ALL as a Non-Force User - and much of it made no sense in terms of the specifics of the prior Force User class stories.

    All The Best

It is an opinion. I am not "claiming" that everyone agrees with my opinion. I am "claiming" that that is MY OPINION.

....which, in fact, would be an accurate claim. The first line of the comment says it all. The fact you find that amusing means next to nothing with respect to my opinions on the matter.

You are certainly welcome to disagree, but it would be a pretty silly premise if you expect that passionately expressing your distaste for the expansions in some fashion would in any way sway my opinions.

After all, I am not a sheep.

  3. To be clear, the idea was to level cap you earlier or later.

Lets say for the sake of illustration a planet caps you at level 20. The mobs run from level 17 up to 21.

On an easy setting you would get capped at level 22. Some mobs might be grey, all would be lower than you.

On the normal setting, you would be capped at level 20.

On the hard setting you would be capped at level 18. Some mobs might be orange, with a few red in the mix.

Now this is a two level cap variation. That can be adjusted to a 3 or 4 level variation. But the idea is to provide a reasonably challenging leveling process to those that desire it, while also providing the closest experience to the grey mob gankfest that used to exist before level sync was implemented.

One could perhaps adjust the loot tables accordingly, basing rewards on level difference. This way if you faceroll you get next to nothing, normal mode is current drops, hard mode provides better rewards.

  4. Well it's started with 'This is your destiny' and it turned out into a session of Jerry Springer :D

for me it's very simple :

1- Not being able to CC ennemies in Kotfe and Kotet . yes even Arcann ! Being smacked and thrown around like a rag doll get old so fast . And it's supposed to be MY STORY! So why it doesn't feel like it!?

2- No consequences . And I mean MAJOR consequences . Yes yes , i can kill Vette if I want . How that hurt Zaakul ?!

3- Lame Boss fights . Now I won't lie and say I'm a big fan of star wars . But even I saw the one with darth Vader when I was a kid . And considering the amount of fan this franchise has , shouldn't a final Battle be more 'WOW! OHMAHGOSH! ' kinda of battle ? I always though Star wars was about DUELING with Light saber and the force . So why we end up smacking Arcann with a shield and jumping around in the end ? Or better yet , dragging Vaylin in Green health stuff for her health to go down ? Where is the dueling , the 'OMG THIS IS IT! THE FINAL SHOWDOWN!' ?

4- Lame Story , filled with alot of 'Vagues MISLEADING Lie and Promises' . Our character never changed . You are still the same . You don't grow stronger , you don't gain new abilities . Nada . Nothing .

So how do you fix all of this ?

A good start is stop lying everytime you Poop a new 'Short Story' . Misleading is Lying to me .

Just look at the latest story ! ''Pursue a rogue agent, battle Operation boss Nahut, rule the skies over Iokath and more!'' .

That make you think : We chase Theron the whole time ! we only see him for 1min in the last cutscene ..

Let us CC ennemies in Kotfe and Kotet . Seriously , why is that a big no ?

I would love to say , give us more choices and reply related to each 8 story . But I don't think they are capable of it .

I be happy with less 'Misleading' .

I did find many of the boss fights to be more annoying than challenging. I also though some of the trash "autoaggro" areas were a bit much, especially if you were a stealth character.

That with the lack of ability to play with friends detracted from an otherwise excellent expansion IMO.

  5. Well me and my wife started playing swtor when it released and have been playing it with breaks until i believe 4.0 where they destroyed the leveling experience from the first 50 levels.

I got an email a week ago and subbed agian simply to look at the status of the game now, but after a few hours playing i stopped enjoying it and unsubbed straight away.

The combat is so easy its boring, the compagnions all are apparently the same and way to strong.

There is no need for any skill for the player left, no need to actually equip your compagnions to stand a chance against harder enemies.

It wasnt hard to begin with but at least it wasnt like this, we had fun playing.

I will never understand why they destroyed that part of the game(just our perception ofcourse).

Anyway the only way we will ever resub is, if they would undo the changes to the core(1-50).

Or at least give ppl the choice to do so if they want!

We didnt care about PVP Or raiding we loved levling our toons and do alot of FP and heroics.

Meet and chat with other people and simply have fun, as it is now thats just not possible anymore.

I hope they will but i dont believe in it.

I had posted a suggestion, suggested by others in similar forms, that there should be a difficulty slider for level sync.

There is debate on how that should work, but my proposal was to alter the level cap in each area....easy mode would allow two more levels before cap, hard mode would cap you two levels lower than current cap.

Doing so with respect to the hard mode would likely put some mobs into the orange range, and perhaps a few select ones into red territory.

  6. What can they do to turn it around? Return to type of content we received in the first three chapters of the game. (Mostly the class based stuff.)

I've seen this suggestion a few times in other forms, like the return to republic vs imperial type content, world invasion events and the replayability of old leveling chapters like the way KotET/FE is set up.

Do you think any of that would be of interest to you?

  7. QFT. I'll never ever venture into GSF again. Ever.

It is difficult at this point to make the changes needed, IMO, to give the feature wider appeal. They would really have to completely revamp it, leveling out the boosts from better equipment and adding temp boosts based on performance instead, so new players would have a chance.

Its the same thing most online games like Battlefront do....that way new players do not feel like meat.

  8. I too think a bit more focus, filling out the margins, so to speak, would go a long way here. They are being a bit too vague IMO considering the amount of rumors swirling around the game at the moment, combined with the perceived drought of content.

My concern is for the overall health of the game, and I think they need to step it up a bit if they wish to help stabilize the games rep at present. My suggestion is to schedule weekly livestreams for one hour each, where they chat with players and answer questions where they can.

IMO this would give the games rep a rather healthy boost.

  9. 1) Bring back some old "no longer available" items from the original planetary token vendors.

    2) Using existing resources, add a few more heroics or dailies to each planet.

    3) Bring back special offers for certain "subscribe by such and such date" for companions, mounts, etc.

    4) institute a massive bug fix gor QoL. Fix clipping meshes, add some physics to capes that don't have them, add dye pstterns to armors that have a dye slot but fail to dye properly, etc.

    5) Step away from class balance and work on anything else for a while.

    6) Actually host some in game events (since many of the developers play the game anyway)---costume contests, player weddings, raffles for cartel coins or cm items)

These are my low to no budget for new content solutions. Which leads me to my final solution---put revenue back into the game.

Ultimately adding fresh content on a regular schedule (every two to three months) is the best solution. It doesn't have to be particularly long just well put together and new---like short dailies and heroics. That little bit would be a good start. Then plan for a new full planet sized expansion every 18 to 24 months. It doesnt need to be free either as long as its good---people will pay for a new expansion. Just concentrate on replayable content. For me class stories are a one time and I'm done deal.

Good suggestions overall, I strongly agree with them putting down the balance crusade for a while.

  10. GC has always fit my playstyle well. Since I vary my time between different activities in game greatly I'm never in a rush to have the best rated gear but can still work towards it. I think it just takes too long for most people because they focus on specific content. I seem to get what I need if I havent crafted or purchased it already. Also now that its easier to get UCs I may be able to make use of them whereas I rarely had enough for a single purchase before.

Do you think that increasing the CXP rate overall would benefit you? I'd like to hear your take on it.

  11. GSF's largest issue is that is very unfriendly to new players. The tutorial is very bare bones and does not really prepare new players at all for actual matches. There is so much they need to know that isn't in the tutorial. Second, the gulf between starter ships and the fully decked out ships fielded by veterans is many times greater than the guilf between 230 and 248 gear in the ground based PVP. The ships you get for your first match are practically useless for anything besides making that new player cannon fodder. Veteran players recognize it, and farm them.

What ends up happening is that new players join GSF and get mercilessly stomped by veterans while doing very little damage, and for many that first impression is a last one. A new player in ground PVP is also at a disadvantage versus veterans but most of the time they'll probably at least get a kill or two to make them feel like they did something.

Its a good point I think. If you look at Battlefront, for instance, arguing that it is a good example of a reasonably successful PVP space combat setup, you can see that having the ship generally equal (strong is some ways, weak in others but all on a level field) and simply having boosts available based on PERFORMANCE instead makes for a fun game that is much more friendly to newcomers.

  12. Again, as a casual player myself I can see the merits of the new system....naturally I DO NOT like the current crafting setup with the armor. I would rather it not be so difficult to get proper schematics doing RE. That could use some improvement, but honestly I am not the one to suggest those improvements.

The merit, IMO, comes from giving me something I didn't have before. Other than some cool loot I have a chance at some rather high end armor.

For me that is a plus.

  13. Well that would depend on whether it was an Opt-In PvP Event or Automatic.

The vast majority of players don't want to be forced to engage with PvP, and I know many, many players who would just not bother logging in if they were so forced.

I genuinely feel most PvP Players have no clue just how much those of that don't PvP despise it.

I have 9 toons that have been through all of KotFE/ET but only ONE that has done the Alliance Alert that requires us to PvP to unlock a Companion, and that was a chore.

    All The Best

I understand the aversion toward PVP in this game, or in general. Some folks simply don't like it, others just tend to dislike the PVP in this game. I think both are perfectly valid points of view.

I think it is one of the likely reasons that GSF did not fare as well as they probably hoped it would. Making it a PVP only feature seemed to limit it beyond acceptance by the overall gaming community and kept it as a "splinter" activity, so to speak. I strongly feel it needed a PVE component, even if it was some kind of training mode.

    • Commander’s Compendium – Personally, I like having various companions with influence level 50 available and depending on the fight, I might want a ranged DPS, or a melee type healer, or whatever. I also like the various animations and barks from a variety of our companions. We are introducing a new companion gift that can immediately raise the influence level of your companion to 50, but it’s expensive, requires some crafting, and requires you to complete your Personal Conquest objectives before you can purchase it from the vendor.

Absolutely Brilliant IMO. Never even crossed my mind, this is a very interesting addition. Good job guys.

  14. Better engine, still set up like an MMO but with a bit less VO, more customization and ability to generate player content. A mix of sandbox and themepark would be nice.

Would like to see something in the FA/LJ timeline, or between that and RoJ.

I guess a mix of this game for ground combat, SWG for crafting and housing and Battlefront for PVP and space combat.

  15. Precisely - "back in the day" - since then grown up Game Companies moved away from cheap, lazy RNG.

Heck WoW has a loot system that drops gear for your specific build, not just your class.

There are no real upsides to a Random system because... ...well... ...wait for it... ...it's random.

So whatever perceived benefit there is is only ever illusory.

    All The Best

I would disagree. For a casual player the entire game is RNG, and this system, IMO, is just another RNG loot machine. This system also gives casual players the ability to gear up in a way they would not normally be able to in the past unless they participated in hard content.

The place it falls short is for hardcore players. Obviously it is not a great system for those that run hard content on a regular basis, though the system has improved a bit since it was launched.

  16. Well, stepping aside from most of the speculation, if I had my way the very first thing I would do to reverse a bad decision (IMO) would be to return animations to their prior state, where triggers for abilities were at the end of animations.

I think that was a horrible change that really hurt the games overall presentation to players.

I would also make the original storylines playable as chapters so they can be replayed (like KotFE/ET), boost CXP payouts by about 50 percent across the board and move all events to a constant play schedule, having them all run at once.

Finally I would add a world invasion PVP/PVE event that would periodically effect all planets except the starter/homeworld.
