  1. Indeed, that is why football is fail in the US. It resists breaking 45min blocks into smaller ones by commercials. In Canada too I guess
  2. Tell me about it. Just started to "work" on Daily and had 3 joke games in row. 2 where our team was lolstomped and 1 were it was the other way around. That is why I post here, else I would be playing. As the classic says, hope only prolongs pain, and I am not entirely sure why I hope someone competent will come here to tell me something like: Look, this is the way things are, they are not gonna change, so if you dont like it take your business elsewhere. to end the pain. I guess I am Evian.
  3. They love CC so much that they spray tear gas and stun cuff each other while having brainstormings in the office. Is that why Mr Muzyka and Mr Zeschuk left? Cant blame them. My opinion is better than your opinion .. On the other hand, I have seen zero games, and point me the right direction if you know about any, where would people complain about lack of CC. Zero. PvP here is disgusting. I cannot chain stun! lulz init?
  4. The problem is that there is no way to tell what is "as intended" and whatnot if its not listed anywhere or if the one using the so-called exploit is ignorant. The argument then will necessarily come to "self-evident", as you noted, and from there it will go downhill. We've been there before. Nobody wants anyone else to have "edge" or "unfair" advantage so the faulty product maker who charges for faulty product is free to act in accordance with fair TOS and edgy crowds. Anyway, I apologize for going off-topic.
  5. The times, ZooMzy, I considered winning arguments on the internet to be worth something are long gone. Same as the times I was into competitive PvP. These days, I just wanna have some fun and there is only so much time and energy I am willing to invest to have it. We both know that there is no truth to be found, except data we will probably never see. Data indicating state of PvP in SWTOR. How many accounts participate on regular bases, how many new, how many try once, week, or few months, how many matches played, statistics for PuGs and premades, etc etc. Without such data we can say whatever we want but metaphysics never produced any truths about reality. As I said to someone else before, if you believe PvP in SWTOR is competitive, fun and healthy there is no way for me to convince you otherwise as its clear our understanding of terms competitive, fun and healthy differs. Maybe its because we both play different game (read on different server) or maybe we are just different. However, if from 10 games I play 7 are what I call "joke" - so imbalanced that its almost pointless to press buttons, then I just can't call such environment competitive, fun nor healthy. And if the advice, the solution, is .. L2P, min/max, FOTM, find team, practice, read boards etc then I am going to pass and will find something else where I can have fun. I have my medals already and I am not gonna be a punching bag for those who believe that they are Michael Jordan taunting opponents in NBA finals. Live long and prosper.
  6. Oh if they knew and said so .. forget I said anything.
  7. I cant? I am not in software licensing business. Out of curiosity, how would one know that one is exploiting/abusing bug? Is this somehow self-evident or is there a check-list for everyone to see what's an exploit and whatnot? The suspended should sue to be honest as I cant see how could they lose: Bug Exploitation There may be times when the game has a bug in it that, if exploited, can give an unfair advantage to a player. At BioWare we do our best to make a game that has as few of these bugs as possible, however due to the constantly evolving nature of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, these may crop up at times. Please refrain from taking advantage of any mechanic in the game that gives an ‘edge’ or unfair benefit in any way as this can result in temporary or permanent account suspension. Should you encounter a bug please report it by accessing the Customer Service Help Request menu in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game client and submitting a ticket under the Bug Report category. Please include as much information as possible in the report to enable us to reproduce and classify the bug. http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/1857 against vague terms like "edge", "unfair" and "exploit".
  8. Well, it seems Mr or Mrs ZooMzy, your arguments are rock solid and I have nothing to say no more. Leader boards and ranked, Queue and level seperation, Gear is training, and community building is joke .. lol
  9. From the link: and reaction: So in other words .. BW programmers made faulty product, BW testers failed to identify it as such, and the appropriate action is suspend accounts of those who used the faulty product without breaking, unless I am mistaken, any written agreement. Not only in America, for a change, but only in software licensing business. I would like to hope for The Revolution to come soon, but somehow I have a feeling that what eric called the appropriate action is in agreement with most in the community. Well, maybe in another century ...
  10. You keep repeating "competition" while there is little to none in SWTOR. And even if PvP in SWTOR was competitive your posts show little understanding of the concept. Lets looks at football, the most popular game in the world and lets compare it to SWTOR. In football: - Everyone has same gear .. SWTOR fail - Organized teams compete against each other .. SWTOR fail - Teams of similar skill/age level compete against each other ... SWTOR fail - There are tournaments and leagues ... SWTOR fail - There is such a thing as fair play ... SWTOR fail - When Rudi Voeller spit on Frank Rijjkard or when Zinedine Zidane gave headbutt to Marco Materazzi who provoked him verbally they became examples of shame not glory .. SWTOR ? I could probably go on, but .. so from where I sit someone is out of touch with reality with regards to "competition". PvP here is joke, its not thriving its dying or keeping afloat at best, and I fail to understand how can someone advocate destructive mechanisms/behaviours instead of community building ones.
  11. Regular warzones are competitive only in very basic sense, in sense that two teams compete - another word for play - against each other. As I mentioned several times in my other posts, regular warzones are nothing like competitive environments known from activities usually understood as competitive. If we adopt usage of term competitive in this trivial sense, then we could call a football match between 6 years old and 16 years old as competitive, which probably most would agree is nonsense. So yeah, everyone has opinion, just some opinions are lets say less sophisticated than others
  12. The only one trolling is you, repeatedly quoting me, commenting with intent to provoke, reaction. Luckily for you: a) I can take trolls, b) since trolling is a dialogue I am free not participate in it, and lastly c) I never report anyone for such misconduct.
  13. This case only shows how incompetent, ignorant, helpless (not sure which one it is) the developers are when it comes to PvP. Its simply bad design that someone is able to affect others in the way described. So go Moophy! Maybe those responsible will be pressed to design something .. good.
  14. There is no, human, right not to be offended. While the OP does not define/specify "abuse" nor "harassment" beyond "you are all noobs!!!" or "get a life" it is likely that businesses providing platforms for human interaction - internet forums, virtual worlds, social networks, etc - have rules against "abuse" and/or "harassment" as they believe, "its not good for business", and on such grounds there is censorship, warnings, suspensions of posting privileges etc. Trying to justify such measures, measures against freedom of speech and expression, on the so-called moral grounds is bound to fail, just like other doctrines and dogmas I probably cannot name here as its against the rules - not good for business. On personal level, I am not so bothered by being called noob or anything else for that matter. The fact is that if one does not allow for it, one cannot be offended. The trick is that vast majority of people are not in control, over themselves, as much as they would like to be and as much as they like to think they are. The vast majority of people are not from Vulcan, but have emotions they cant handle. The vast majority of people get offended despite they have no, given, right to be so. Humans are hairless monkeys and there is no point to deny it. Now what should be tolerated and whatnot? I would say its for majority to decide, as I do not know any other way how to organize a society/community and still call it just. Here, however, we are on BW/EA playground and that's about it. I for example get irritated, maybe even offended, by ignorance, stupidity, hypocrisy, or lies. Who cares that swear words, personal attacks or political and religious views do not offend me? Nobody who matters, so yes I have to "take it" and to be honest, I would not want to see people punished because I cant handle myself.
