  2. I use it for both, but it is more of a pvp spec than a pve spec.
  3. I originally started out with that spec, but changed it up as I became more geared, Steady Shots damage increase was less valuable to me in pvp, because naturally I had more and more power. Also, Experimental Explosives is really helpful in PvP and PvE because you use AoE's pretty regularly in your rotation. Razor rounds crit bonus is not as beneficial once you already have like 40%+ crit. Engineer's Toolbelt is pretty useful considering how much you spam frag grenade while other stuff is on cooldown.   5. I raid as lethality. It's a little less damage but I am willing to bet the mobility makes up for it (No dmg meters to prove so...). Just based on WZ damage, I would say lethality does more, but thats unfair because its a lot more aoe dmg (frag grenade, corr. grenade) as well as dots all around. So in a pure damage standpoint, the only way to test pve damage would be to find a mob with ~100k hp and time the kill. In the end divide the hp/seconds and you have your DPS.
  6. So our PvE set bonus is: (2) Activating Target Acquired or Illegal Mods restores 10 energy. (4) Reduces the energy cost of Takedown and Quickdraw by 7. PvP: (2) Increases the duration of Orbital Strike or XS Freighter Flyby by 3 seconds. (4) Increases the range of Distraction and Takedown or Quickdraw by 5 meters. ---------------Breakdown--------------- PvE: (2) We get 10 energy back from a skill on a 2min cool down (Target Acquired). (4) A skill we can only use when enemy (boss) is below 30% costs 7 less energy. PvP: (2) We get an extra orbital strike hit, which by that time everyone has moved out of it. (4) Only useful if someone is running away and you need that last hit on them.
  7. I don't think bioware plans on making any drastic changes to sniper in the near future, or at least there hasn't been enough outcry to call for any changes to be made.
  8. Yes, as lethality you want to tab dot as many people as possible. This being said, it adds to your dps, but that doesn't mean you can't pressure people (or own) people 1on1. Actually, i find it easier to kill a majority of people 1on1 as lethality (accept sorcs... which were easier in marksman). Tanks/dps are actually a lot easier to kill in this spec b/c of internal damage.
  9. While I do agree that marksman is a good pvp spec, i disagree with you when you say its better than lethality "when mastered." It's fair to say that after playing a sniper in beta (to 50), aswell as playing to 68 valor now, i have "mastered" marksman. This is not to sound cocky, its just if you define mastery as experience, I simply have it. I have pvped for the majority of my days as marksman, and did enjoy it, before the 50 brackets. I was doing more damage than I do now as lethality, as marksman in mixed brackets. Now that there are 50 brackets, I simply cannot do as much damage as i used to, no matter what kind of game, or kind of team composition. With lethality I ALWAYS do more damage than my marksman spec.
  10. I completely agree with the op (68 valor sniper here). Lethality is in every way better for PvP. Try it out, you'll see.
  11. Nah, i'd rather spam frag grenade on 3 sec CD, but im still messing around with the spec.

  13. Dispells suck, but nothing much you can do. Casters are harder to kill (sorcs, OP healers). No kills? You're not doing it right. You need to be far away and apply dots to people in the masses.
  14. I am still playing rather actively (you guys think I quit?!?!). My internet is having troubles (due to my old router), and I am working on fixing it. In 50 brackets I don't run marksman, simply because my 9k crits turn into 2-3k. Rather than giving up, i simply run lethality and do at least 250k a game. I'd rather run lethality, but in geared games its simply not as viable.
  15. I completely agree, Ilum has become so much of a chore now.
