  1. <snickers> A sniper named Flacco. That's just awesome.

All argument aside, that's the crux of the matter. If it's personally game-breaking, and it's not being addressed, there's no reason not to quit. It's not as if they're going to stop people from rejoining later.

Yeah. I thought Flacco was a cool sniper name.:)

On the topic, if they quit they lose their voice here on getting their change made. But to me that's an individual decision people can make. As you say, people can come back later if EA/BW fixes their personal game-breaking issue.

  2. Why shouldn't people quit? This is for many people a game breaking issue and we have no idea if or when it is coming.

Why is this the only issue on the forum people think should just "shut up and wait forever"? It's ridiculous actually. What if PvP was completely broken and unplayable and BW said, yeah we'll fix it someday, then said absolutely nothing for 6 months? I would think people that like to PvP would be rioting and quitting by that point too.

The fact the mods even allow that kind of thing in this thread is a little baffling to me. No one has the right to come into this thread and tell us our wants are unimportant. Maybe they are to you, fine, then leave and go find a topic you do think is important. Otherwise you are just trolling and flame baiting.

Fact is, Bioware has handled this issue about as poorly as it could be from the start, first by not putting the content into the game for launch, on to their ignoring the issues and ignoring the fans concerned about the content. I'm actually surprised there are still as many supporters around as there are and that more haven't already quit the game. That will probably start to change soon though, I think most people are finally getting fed up with the treatment we have received so far.

Why can't people come to this thread and tell you that they think your issue is not game breaking? They are allowed to post in all the other threads on the forums concerning chat bubbles, PVP, end game, the UI, games too easy, games too hard, you name it. There are people who think that all those issues are game breaking as well.

I do fully support the right of anyone to quit if they think their game-breaking issue is not being addressed.

  3. It has far more replayability than WoW and their alt system imo. Being a vet WoW player and playing this game.. this game has better replayability. WoW and other mmos had nothing different between alts minus the skills each class possessed. This game has that as well but also unique (and intriguing) class quests. Wasting my time posting this I'm sure.

Yeah, most will say waste of time, but I agree. Nothing more boring than WoW alts where 100% of everything you do is repeated. At least here it is about 60% repeated. An improvement to me. Your alts have different class quests, different companions, you can play different dark/light. Lots more options. I guess I wasted some time with you. :+)

  4. There's no LFG tool? Didn't know that. You would have thought something like that would have been mentioned before. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Maybe we can ask BW about it and get an answer in next week's questions.
  5. Well, good for you. I don't want that in my game and I shouldn't be forced just because you do. So, If Bioware does implement it, they need to have an on/off toggle for same sex only. I shouldn't be forced to have my game changed negatively by having to turn off all flirt option just because you aren't satisfied. I'm very happy with the way it is currently, personally.

So, if they do add SGR, which I have no issues with, they have to make it something that must be toggled on in order to see the options start to appear in game. If my dialogue choices where all of a sudden limited because I either A) had to skip over choices to avoid flirting with the same sex or B) had to turn off flirting all together in order to not have to deal with those options, I'd simply quit playing the game.

It's best to just send an email to BW and let them know you don't want it in the game. I did that along with many others i know. There really isn't any value-added to debate it in the forum as it won't be allowed since it degrades into a name-calling and they don't want social issues discussed. The fact that they ignore the question each week (it will be ignored again this week), leads me to believe it's not a done deal despite the 3-year old quote from BW. So emails help.

If you don't want it, just shoot an email to BW and let them know.

  6. you sir are correct.

I have sat at my pc and sometimes openlly on vent asked other guild members "What in gods name do you think you guys were doing.

This whole mess could have been fixed easy.

Bioware knows who is who and who has what toons where. Just migrate everybody's data for toons above 40 to the new servers before launch.

Send a email saying what they did and you will find your guild and toons on this server. If you fail to log into said toons withing 2 weeks we will automatically remove them from the aus server. If you do log into said toons they will be automatically removed from the old server.

Server starts up. Everybody is happy to fined there toons waiting there more them.

Offer transfers once they have sorted out how. Personally I cant see what that problem could be.

As it might be to let new players get to 50 then well they would now know there aren't may of them. I didn't see many new person questions last night.

Everybody will be happy. What about those below level 40?

What if they login to the new server, play for a while but then see that performance is worse because they are not in Australia/New Zealand. Then they go back to the old server. Which gets deleted since they logged into both in the two weeks?

  7. I don't think that BW will ever merge servers. They will offer either free or paid transfers and let the community do it themselves.

If they do a forced merge then they have to handle guilds, character names, legacy names. They tick off all the people that lose their toon names, legacy names.

Providing a transfer leaves it is up to the player to choose to go to another server and accept that he has to change toon/legacy names if they are already taken there .. or choose a different server where he/she can keep their names.

  8. fkn oath!

"influx of new players" - WHAT influx of new players? Everyone in Oceania who had any interest in this game already bought their copy and is playing on the US servers...

Then why is the Oceania PVE server VERY HEAVY at this time. Where did these players come from? Let me guess .. these are not new players just the current players who have threatened to quit if they don't get their transfer right now.

I think BW knows there are many new players in Oceania who chose to wait until the game was released there. I think they want to concentrate on providing them a good start to the game. It's not like those Oceania players can't play. They can continue to play as they have since December when they chose to play from a then Red Zone.

  9. All the people that complain the game isn't doing well...

it is your machine. If it was the engine, EVERYBODY would be having issues and there wouldn't be one sub in the whole world. It is only the people that have issues with their computer that come on and moan about everything because they don't want to accept that it is their machines that are the problem so what's human..what's natural. They blame it on the game!

Agree .. this is so obvious that I don't know why the OP can't see it.

  10. Actually I had a post that was deleted... While it didn't mention specifically that I was anti-toggle it made some serious hints. Still not entirely sure why it was deleted, but it was and I can accept that Bioware needs to keep tight wraps on their own forums.

If you are anti-toggle or anti-sgra it is best to just send an email to EA/BW expressing your opinion to them directly. As I have done.

  11. Why do you all keep bringing up that it's out in march? That's my entire point. March is too late. Just because they planned to patch at a point which is too late doesn't make it OK. The start of March was too late and they clearly aren't going to make that.

It won't matter to many posters in this forum when they release it. They won't like it even if it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

As someone else replied, if as you say your main point is March is too late for you, then just unsub and go play something else.

  12. There are somethings we all like. There is no question about that. I like the feel/resource system.

What I want to know is, what has disappointed you the most? I hoping a couple common themes will appear to identify problem areas.

For me without question it is the near complete separations of factions. I didn't think I'd have to search the galaxy for a fight.

    How about you?

    This forum.

  13. SWTOR has a ESRB rating of teen. Currently according to ESRB, games with homosexuality fall under the Mature rating. Whether it is right that heterosexual falls under Teen while homosexual falls under Mature is an argument for ESRB and not EA/BW.

I do not believe that EA/BW is going to do something that will raise it's base game ESRB rating to Mature so I don't think this will be "patched" in or change the base story arcs/options or have a toggle to turn on or off.

I believe that they will include SGRA at some point but it will be as part of an expansion pack that has the Mature rating.

  14. You must not have been around when the thousands of other threads on this topic made it to 30-40 pages...

I'll sum it up for you: While the game may be new and while other titles may have the benefit of years of development, TOR has to compete with games that are out and playable today regardless of when their competition launched.

    Why?

Because their competition offers me more for the same price. TOR cannot afford to hide behind "two months old" when other games give you more.

The onus is on the team to deliver a game worth the monthly subscription, and I think where people find fault with TOR is that it doesn't compete well. So people move on to those games and leave TOR behind--which is not what anyone wants.

Except that Blizzard has had around 4 billion dollars of player subscriptions to pay for the extra development of everything from their launch to today.

Our subscriptions now are paying for the additions to this game.
