UMMM wow, ok so I log into DAOC for the first time in 7 years, do a /who all in the chat box, and BAMMMM !!! 444 players logged on in midgard alone. Within 20 minutes at least 7 keeps were taken out in New Frontiers, a few by each realm. I feel like a total noob again, but the game is actually extremely active.

from what I understand, GW2 is NOT open world pvp, but small group instanced like swtor is. Got my DAOC account back up and running, characters transferred, and downloading the game now. Logging in just to transfer the characters already gave me the chills !!!! It has a very old outdated feel to it, but it felt good.

They could implement it if they wanted to. Seems like these MMO's these days want that initial burst of cash, and can care less after that. Been considering knocking the dust off my Shadowblade. People in DAOC are complaining that PVP is just a ZERG fest. A ZERG FEST in DAOC , that game that is DEAD ????? That tells me there are actually enough people still, after 10 years, playing to even have a zerg.

Thats funny too, a 10 year old game can do it, but a brand new one cant ?? Geez. They could easily turn Illum into the same type of idea. Maybe not easy, but they already have the planet to use. Why cant these game developers take an idea from a game that still has players after 10 years and make it fresh and new ?? They all copy everything else from each other heh.

the grind is just getting boring, and to what end ? Nothing to fight for, nothing to value, nothing to defend. I loved the DAOC style of pvp. relics had bonuses for the whole realm, lose your relic, lose your bonuses and the other side got the bonuses from your relic. Give us something worth fighting for, something worth defending, something to be PROUD OF !!! Instead we get....."whoa after 4 months of grinding Warzones I got my full set of War Hero Gear WOOOOO FRIGGGIN HOOOOO!!!!!!!!! The extrmely hard accomplishment of organizing 150-200 realm mates to take the enemies patriotic symbol from deep within their own heavily defended territory brought great joy and comradery, and brought the community closer together as a whole. What we have now is nothing more than a PVP gear grind fest. I wont even get into why they even made PVP servers, you get no value at all out of PVP in open world. How bout some XP ?? That alone would make open world pvp a bit more enticing. Sorry just getting bored. Love the game, love what it stands for, I love PVP. This doesnt have it. I hope there are plans in the future.

so, this 22 shadow got something in the range of 220k dmg and 58 kills in a warzone, while at level 48 I had 78k ish fighting pretty much non stop with about 28 kills. Am I doing something wrong? I messaged him afterwards and he said he was specced Infiltration, but the next WZ we were in together I noticed he had combat tech on? arent infil spec supposed to run shadow tech ? At 48, i still have never finished above %50 in warzone dmg. After reading up, I changed a few things and it has helped alot, but how is a level 22 accumulating that much dmg as the same spec as me, especially at level 22 ? I have all purple and orange gear and am currently 5 31 3 spec. Which offhand item should we be equipping ?
