I actually agree with this. HATE the air jets.

The exploit is getting with someone on the other faction to flip Ilum which resets all the nodes allowing for continuous gathering for asanine amounts of credits. That is an exploit and those people should recieve punishment.

If you read the OP it makes it quite clear why action was taken and i support this.
I also think anyone whining, arguing or disagreeing with this action in this thread should also be permanently banned from the game.
I doubt such measures will be taken but i hope the names of those crying about this have been noted and their accounts will be monitored for unusual activity. Theres no smoke without fire, so those that oppose this measure clearly have some unethical personal motive and should be publicly named and shamed and then removed from the game.

What bloody exploit?!
The OP by Reid stated that players accounts were warned or suspended because they went to Ilum and repeatedly looted containers in large numbers. By no definition of the term is that an exploit, in any other game I've ever played, or in any dictionary. There's no mention of using multiple accounts. There's no mention of any bugs being used even in a nonspecific sense.
Just because a credit seller engages in an activity does not necessarily mean that everyone who engages in that activity is a credit seller, and it's bloody disingenuous for Reid to use Apophasis(fallacy of argument by innuendo) to put people who were sanctioned for engaging in a normal gameplay activity without any warning from the developer that what they were doing was against the rules, are equivalent to credit sellers.
Credit sellers also send large amounts of credits from one character to another - am I going to get a warning or suspension for sending a chunk of money to an alt or a guildie? Credit sellers farm mobs for cash and items, am I going to get a warning or suspension for farming some mobs to grab the last few thousand XP I need to level ready for the next planet? How many times am I allowed to do Hammer Station in the hopes of getting the rare drop which looks like an Imperial Uniform so I can RP, before a Bioware CS agent decides that I'm a credit seller?
If Bioware are going to declare an entirely normal activity like looting containers more than once or camping a spawn for loot as taboo and subject to censure, the absolute least that is required is that they warn players first - how many days have these warnings and suspensions been going on for now? Yet this thread is the first official comment on the matter.

Yah, that makes sense in a world of MMO's where exploitation is a common occurence right after launch. What are you trying to prove? That Bioware was in the wrong? All you are doing is picking apart people who are trying to tell you that you got your answer. No more discussion. You just need a friend. I understand.

Until recently opening a container -even repeatedly- that you could reach without intentionally utilising a bug was considered "playing normally". The point is that if Bioware are going to be this arbitrary and incoherent regarding what is and is not an exploit, and if they're going to start taking actions against users several days before they make an official post declaring the activity as against the rules, then it very much is a slippery slope, because nobody can predict exactly what previously normal gameplay they're going to declare as an exploit next time.
Are you implying that the people doing the exploit were unaware they were exploiting the game? I go from rich to poor by buying twenty copies of the game and systematically farming a high level area with low level characters..... What was I doing wrong?!?!?!?!

I don't like this WZ because :
It's like gamble without a real time with teamspeak and so on.
Those completely annoying Fire-Stuff, which is always popping out, when I want to cross over.
And my crappy internet-connection which is even more important in this WZ.
And because you have to get a place for this throw-Ability in your actionbar just for this WZ, so I have either to place the ability on a crappy spot like 0 or I have to replace it with a needed ability and I have to rethink the places of every ability for this small WZ.
I actually liked the concept in Unreal Tournament 2004 more.

No, it doesn't clear it up in any way. It still states that doing this was wrong. Saying that they just punished them less by not out and out closing their account is akin to punching someone in the face for looking at you the wrong way then concluding it's OK because at least you didn't kill them.

People dislike Huttball because it requires:
1. Skill
2. Teamwork
3. Something other than just dps/healing (read #1 and #2)
4. Situational and Positional Skills (Amazingly Fun)
Sorry if it isnt for you, I do agree with the ability to choose your WZ. But, I believe the reason is that they want metrics from all 3 different zones. Allowing people to choose would limit the metrics they need to balance the game properly. Its a good thing

I actually space barred past a side quest... why, you ask? Am I power leveling? Nope. It's because I am kinda tired of reading text from cut scenes with languages I don't understand. The whole point of VO is so that I don't have to read text, imo. But the higher I go, the more cut scenes there seem to be with "foreign languages", meaning I have to read my quest (which I don't like to do in other MMO's either).
While this is the first time I have done this (level 35), probably won't be my last. Now, maybe they can't have every NPC speak English/French/German, I think that the amount of cut scenes with languages I don't understand is a bit much.
Thought: If my character is able to understand every interaction no matter what "language", why not just have them all in English anyway (so the player can understand it). Look, don't get me wrong, Jawa's should speak Jawa, but others should be fully voiced English...
Anyone else reach this point?
Nothing wrong with this. I read way faster than the aliens talk so I just quickly read and spacebar when I am done. I dont need to hear gobbly ****, lol

this is insane and i feel i need to step it in. First your dog is probably having "behavior problems" because his owner doesn't pay attention to him.
You should probably talk to your family and your mom about here health problem, not to people who really don't have all day to sit on the computer and listen to strangers yammer about how crappy their life is. 15 min after you get in the instance is the fist pull?
If you asked me my a/s/l i would more than likely drop group, not crap. That is just odd, no offense.
This is the most important part of the whole post, seriously, don;t play an mmo to find a wife, worst possible place to look, nb4 someone post their life story and how they meet their wife through an mmo, i don't care, go play the lottery. The worst part of this is, there is more than likely some chick you know who want to jump your bones, and you are to oblivious to the fact to notice.
To be honest, i talk and laugh and have a good time, even when i am "rushing", but i have yet to have one of these epic 4-man instance be shorter than 45mins, and i have meat various people who i enjoy playing with in-game, but if they asked me my life story when we first met in a instance, i probably would be running with them anymore. To be honest the same is true of real life...
No one wants to divulge their life story and problems on people they just met it is rude.

It's pretty simple, and no further explanation is necessary from BW. If you are caught selling Credits, expect to be perma-banned.
If you are engaging in "questionable" activities like camping a Chest on a character, expect a warning from Bioware followed by a temporary ban if you choose to ignore said warning.
That's what happened here. There is no conflict or controversy, no "drama" for "fear of a Police State" - violate the TOS and you risk being banned, engage in questionable activities and you will be warned first and banned if you persist.
Very reasonable, very fair, very acceptable...
...unless the only way you can enjoy the game is see just how much you can get away with.

I am a little angry. Stephen gave you guys an answer you should be comfortable with. Yet, you drag this "going no-where" conversation out. It happens time and time again on these forums and is irritating. Has nothing to do with having a mature conversation. That would be simply accepting the fact that this has nothing to do with you and moving on. Yet, still here.

I never said any of those things, and telling me to "keep my mouth shut and go back to playing" is pretty much the definition of rude and uninviting. Whatever it takes to keep that oversized ego in check my man.
I was asking for an explanation and your post pretty much proves there isn't one that's readily apparent. Thank you for proving my point. I'll part by letting you know what I don't think I have "a say." I just want to understand, and your nastiness proves even you don't understand.
