  1. Hello Rafi, long time no see! First I'd like to clarify few things: The reason why I suggested this being a Cartel Market item is that otherwise I don't see devs to have reason to invest their time & effort into such a thing. I wouldn't exactly call the developers greedy. It's their Dark Side masters who are greedy (Electronic Arts), who in the end have the final word (IMHO) about what's going in the game or not. (Just see what happened to Battlefront 2 as a result, and the stock price of EA afterwards.) Also, having this as Cartel Market item costing money would ensure people actually want to do this and are more aware of the consequences it can have for their character (because it would cost them real money to do this thing). IMHO that should create a lot less noise to support & forums from people who just want to try something and didn't think that through. It could also mean less trolls in this matter (again - are people willing to troll if it costs them a lot of money? IMHO usually not... ). That's actually a good point, and I like the possible approach for resetting of the each story chapter! The only problem I can think of is that this could generate problems on how the story would change for you, if you for example would reset chapter 1, make a significant story decision that wouldn't be compatible with following chapters. I think that the only solution that developers would be willing to accept in this case is that the significant story decision wouldn't be brought forward. And that is something I don't like, because I would like for players to be able to change their decisions in the story completely, if they are paying money for it. My expectation is that many people (like me) like to explore the storyline from different angles. And that's also the reason why I suggested that the storyline would be resetted completely from the beginning, so you could make these significant changes in your decisions... No, it does not! I'm an open-source guy, and this kind of feedback is what helps every community to move forward (usually ). And even the negative feedback is still valuable feedback. I like open friendly discussions, even when people disagree with me. I agree that those are too complicated for the beginning. That's why I separated them in the post. The locks themselves are really not necessary - even without the locks, you can choose on your own if you want to use the speeders/mounts or your ship. And also - if people won't choose the level downgrade, then they might be still interested for doing some Operations or other stuff with their guildmates (and then going back to the story), for which they will most likely need the speeders or ships. And I really like the idea for some companions becoming just unavailable when repeating the story. They could be just unavailable the same way it is implemented now - in the Alliance Companions window the companions couldn't be summoned. (But it would be nice if you could still send these storyline unavailable companions to do crafting... ) That's actually a really good point - and as a result, I agree and take back my initial suggestion for level resetting + keeping the gear. If players would require one of these, then they would have to settle that they can't have the other thing. IOW there has to be some trade-off: You could reset/downgrade your level, but you wouldn't be able to use gear that has higher level requirement than what your current level is. You could keep your gear as it is, but you couldn't reset your level. If you would be level 70, then you would be still queing with other 70 level players for PVP, and other stuff. Hehe, I see. I guess it could be worth starting a new thread about "merging your characters" (from different servers)...
  2. NOTE: I'm reposting it here, because I'm not sure how much developers read the Suggestion Box anymore... Hello guys, I've been playing in this idea for a couple of days now, and I'd like to present it here. So please, bear with me until the end, and then tell me what do you think... As much as I enjoy the new storyline and so, I no longer almost remember the initial storylines (which there are 8 of them for each class), and at the moment there's no way for me to go back and completely reset my storyline, and start all over again. I know that many of you might suggest to just start a new character again, use the Master's Datacron, and you're fine. But no - this does not cut it for me. I have invested a lot of time, effort & money (CM coins) to my already existing characters, and many of those things are not transferable (unfortunately)! :-/ On some of them I might have for example some unique look that I might never ever get back, because I no longer posses that item. Or I might have some unique weapons that are bound to that character, and they are such a unique drop from a game that I might never get them back again... So what I really need / want (and I'm willing to pay for it with Cartel Coins) is the ability to completely reset my storyline (IOW, start all over again) for selected characters, which would be done in a form of using a datacron similar to the Master's Datacron. We have the similar option to start all over again in many other games while keeping the gear previously obtained (namely for example Mass Effect franchise), which keeps me with that game for much longer compared to games that doesn't have this option. (I have finished Mass Effect 16 times for example, if I recall correctly. Completely exploring the Mass Effect world and all the possibilities of the story.) So, here's my suggestion with it's all details for Flashback Datacron: Using the datacron would completely reset all the storyline (Base game, base game storyline expansions like Makeb, etc., KotFE, KotET, and so on). The story would be set at the same state as if you would create a new character. Only storyline would be reset! You would retain your current level, character equipment, inventory, cargo hold, character's Legacy Perks, pets, mounts, achievements, credits, ship equipment, etc. Your companions will be temporarily locked out until you would unlock them again via progressing your storyline. This also means that new companions unlocked via KotFE or KotET will be unavailable until you unlock them via the KotFE / KotET storyline. Companion affection levels will not be reset. They would be kept same as before you used the Flashback Datacron. This includes Alliance specialists as well. Companion conversations would be reset however, so you can have them again. Companions' gear would be moved to your inventory / stash, and companions would equipped with their default gear again. The map on each planet will not be reset. IOW, if you have explored & opened the whole map on each planet, you wouldn't have to do it again. For the intro / beginning purposes, one more character look slot will be unlocked. This newly unlocked character look slot would contain the default (basic) look for each character when they start. Your primary weapon would be put into your inventory / stash, and would be replaced with the basic one. (The idea here is to get the same feeling as when you were starting the class mission for that character for the first time.) You would remain in the same guild as you were before. Your mounts would be temporarily locked (until level 10) - for authenticity purposes. We're looking for storyline & "nostalgic" feeling, not just going through storyline as fast as possible. (I would expect that if somebody pays money for going back in the story, they would like to enjoy it fully.) Your ship would be temporarily locked (until you unlock it in the storyline) - for the same reason as above. However, the fast travel options (teleports) should still be working if players need to for example go fast on Fleet, and so on. The Dreadseed, Macrobinoculars & (obtaining) HK-51 storyline missions would be reset as well - but doing them again should be made easier (not many people do them nowadays). The Flashpoints should be taken as part of the storyline again as well. IOW - Collicoid War Games FP should be returned, and all the flashpoints (except Collicoids) should have the option for doing them in 2 person group via Group Finder, and without skipping the intro conversations for each of them. IOW, these storyline flashpoints should be scaled for groups of 2 with their companions, and before each of the FPs the players should be teleported to have the conversation with Darth Malgus / Satele Shan / etc. first. Hmm, that's pretty much I can remember at the moment. But here are some additional notes to the list above: Locking yourself for not being able to use mounts should be optional. Locking yourself for not being able to use player's ship should be optional. Players should have option (with the Flashback Datacron) to reset their level to level 1 as well. This would cause the ability tree to be reset, forcing users to level up again. By progressing their levels, players would be unlocking the new abilities as a result. However, players should be allowed to keep using their gear without level restrictions. IOW they could still use the 70-level gear while progressing, but they would be still limited by each planet's level cap. (The strength of their gear would be still scaled as necessary.) So what do you guys think? Would anyone else be interested in the option of resetting your storyline? And for what price, given that we have 8 main storylines?

  4. Seriously Bioware, you f*ck with players again?! You know if this wasn't about Star Wars, most poeple would be already gone because how you treat them... So again - either make the global merge (you have done this before) or stop making money on last not-merged players, and STOP *********** WITH US! I used to be a big fan of you, now I'm just disgusted...
  5. For some reason, I wasn't able to rename it again on Twitch. So the 4th BOSS will stay there for a while I guess... Regarding the Dark Ward - OK, that might be it, but why I haven't died so many times before when I used it? Something isn't right here... Regarding the teleports - we are aware of the knockbacks from the tanks. But this was different. I don't know if any of our DPS will be able to record it and post it.
  6. Just bringing this thread - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=871638 - to your attention. Go read it, and start to do something about it!
  7. So, here's the video of bug that we (our squad) encountered in Explosive Conflict (8HM) at 4th Boss: http://www.twitch.tv/deekejz/v/45187700 You can clearly see there that: - the adds were stucked at the beginning - adds didn't respawn correctly - at one point there were too many adds then what it should - I died when I stepped on the mine, even though when I should not. [i apologize for the strong language there, if you are offended. But I will not take it back, I felt it like that in the moment.] And not to mention that our members were teleported few meters back from time to time on the 2nd boss, causing us to wipe entirely (they were teleported to the blue rockets AOEs).
  8. So, after finishing the storyline at Balmora, I went back to my ship and the diplomats were again "levitating"...
  9. So, after another cinematic (Use your ship's intercom - after I arrive at Balmorra), the diplomats are sitting normally now. I will report more findings, if necessary.
  10. Here's the picture of the bug (links to my G+ profle):
  11. Last time there were less Reps than Imps, but we still managed to do it really quickly... Wanna see how did it go? You can watch the Rishi part here: http://www.twitch.tv/deekejz/c/6281804 (There's also video of whole thing if anybody is interested to see the Oricon part.) If there will be approximately same number of people on both sides next time, it will go really quickly this time...
  12. I think your response was appropriate and not offensive at all. Also, thanks for your response. I was already thinking that any "good" PRNG would do the trick, but I wanted to try to ask anyway, so I would increase the validity of my model, even though slightly. The reason for this (and to dismiss some guesses) is that I want to run my own simulations of OPS BOSS fights to give our progress group some better statistics on income dmg for our TANKs, specifically for Assassins. Theirs shield is not working as it should. Either way its bug or the boss mechanic (most likely the second). And I know there are tons of data on the Internet about how you should be geared, many graphs, etc. However, it's hard to find latest versions which can be trusted. So here I thought I would give our university mainframe a little bit of hard time (it's load is mostly almost 0) and try to simulate the process as much accurate as I could (probably with use of some particular simulation tools developed at our university). I won't dig into details, because I know how huge this area of computer science can be and I'm aware of that it might take some time... Agreed.
  13. Hello folks! This question is specifically aimed to devs - I would like to know, what algorithm of pseudo-random number generator is TOR using? Even though you get a hell of an Internet traffic I doubt you would be using truly random number generators (like /dev/random pool in Linux). The game is depending on random rolls a lot. Are you using any algorithm based on Mersenne prime number, like Mersenne Twister or something else? And if you're using something else, would you be so kind to write the algorithm or mathematical function for us in case it's not some standard algorithm? If you can't do this, would you at least, please, told us the period of your PRNG? The reason why I'm asking is that I want to run some simulations for my guild-mates to have some statistics to support our discussions. It would much help us and we will be very grateful! And just from curiosity - is the seed value initialized when the servers are restarted or is it changed some other times also?
  14. LMAO!!! xD Btw: I might even afford multi-boxing, if I would like. But I won't - it doesn't seems to me right, fair or whatever you want to call it. It just feels me like I would be cheating. The only way I see use of it is to take some hard bosses down by yourself to get some rare items you can sold. But I would miss the challenge from the game... For me, playing like this would feel I'm ****** SW:TOR and BioWare in the a** and urrghh - no thanks! And as for the making more money I've read comment from the dude, who (by his words) is multiboxing. He's saying that you do make a more money, but you do have to pay more repairs and you do have to get more of a gear equipment. I just don't see much of sense in multi-boxing, only like people doing it "because they can". So after reading all this stuff - thank you all for the information. For me multi-boxing will stay as mark of people who need 4 chars instead of 1 to kill some mobs - in other words - players who don't have such a skill... (You know the word I mean... )
  15. Then it seems we're wasting our time here and this discussion will not do anything good... If so, I suggest we stop arguing about violation of ToS, I don't want to start flame war here.
  16. Well, this depends on point of view (if it was always so clear then we wouldn't need lawyers, do we?)... That's why I want to see official statement from BioWare representative to know, if this is or this is not violation of ToS. Because in the end - we can talk whatever we want if this is or isn't against ToS - BioWare will always have the last word and we can't do much about it...
  17. OK guys - thank you for noticing me that this is multi-boxing. I haven't heard this term before, since I've never played WoW or other MMORPGs (this is my first time). So you all have agreed this is multi-boxing. However, this doesn't change that this is kind of unfair advantage (I would say it's almost an exploit imho, but this is just a terminology). From my point of view, this is at least on the edge of breaking EULA/ToS and it would be nice to hear official comment on multi-boxing from BioWare, because for me it's kind of reason which would eventually disgust me (methaphorically) from playing anymore. Secondly, I didn't want to name or shame anybody (I didn't in the post) and that video isn't mine - I've linked it just to show what I meant. I can delete the link, if forum admins will say so. I just wanted them to see it first, though. Anyway, I hope to hear from BioWare soon. As said before, not doing anything about it would be kind of hypocritical, since BioWare/EA is being very strict in SWTOR policies (in my opinion).
  18. //edit: OK, so this isn't about BOTs, this is about multi-boxing as it was point out below in the comments. Hello! First things first. Yesterday I saw Sniper guy who I reported, because I'm 99% sure he is using BOTs. Then my guildmate told me of another player, who he recorded - youtube video - and I realized, it's the same issue just with another character. Maybe it's the same guy, I don't know, but I think most of you can see that this behaviour is far beyond normal... If not, here are some of my observations: - there are 4 guys with same class and you can identify the one who is leading the group (It looks like there's always one char leading and he is moving, the rest seems to have follow on him. It could be better seen on the sniper guys, who were using speeders. Snipers had the same speeder mount also.) - they have the same look, the same gear & completely same stats (I've inspected all the sniper guys, this looks the same) - they are in the same guild and have same Legacy title (the sniper guys have some sort of resembling names) - they use all the same companions - Treek (snipers did also) - and they always have the same target and mostly - they have the same moves and rotations with completely exact timing, which are impossible even for 4 very skilled players using Teamspeak/Ventrilo/what-so-ever. There's at least 25 ms delay I guess for the servers, about 25 - 50 ms delay for TeamSpeak you're using. You just can't make this exact timing until it comes from the one source. And I think no one would enjoy this style of playing - 4 people playing completely the same? Come on, people - this wouldn't be so much fun, which is in diversity (yeah, the answer why all players hunt their special unique look on the server ). Maybe I'm wrong, but I've seen and played many games since 1999 and I've seen a quite number of BOTs. And for me, this is definitely something that is non-human playstyle. OK, at this point someone can say that this is not a such big deal, if the guys is paying for the 4 chars then that it's his problem. Well, you might be right at the certain point - what about PVP server? I don't know if this allowed in EULA (to be honest guys, who of you read it completely to the bottom? ), but even if it's allowed, this could definitely ruin the game experience on PVP servers. E.g. imagine, that's this sort of guys will create an OPS group and start raiding Republic/Imperial bases - they're much more powerful and with proper focus they can almost instant kill you. Even if you would get a big OPS of PVPers to face them, it wouldn't be easy to defeat them. This can be also exploited to some other use - these chars are more effective - they can farm items, that are hard to get, money or other things and either throw GTN prices of balance or more likely - sell the items for real money outside the SWTOR. (I've seen people offering credits for real money, they have their websites... ) Another consequence I can think of is if people start using this a lot, there might be many people who will be disgusted that they will leave the game eventually (I know some friends for whom this would be a serious issue) or this might eventually start many people migrating to PVE server, if the atmosphere on PVP servers would go down... At this point I would like to hear response if this is allowed by EULA in the first place, if BioWare see this also as problem and if Bioware will address this. Could someone from the developers/admins comment on this, please? Thank you!
  19. I WANT THE OLD GEAR! THE NEW ONE SUCKS! OK, now seriously. This is idea that I want to see in the game...
  20. Get this in the game ASAP!
  21. Some of you, like me, are not americans etc. - we use just space to seperate the number, e.g. 1 000 000 ...
  22. After some patch, about a half year back (I don't remember now exactly) you've removed the abbility to target friendly target with this (Target center character? Or how was it really called.) action. To be more specific, I'll make some example: Lets say you have this ability bind to E key. So, when you want to target the enemy who is currently in the middle of your screen, you press the E. That's all. But previously, you could target also friendly targets in the same way. After the patch a while ago, you've removed this possibility. I'm requesting that this option will be returned back, because I still need it as a healer, sometimes also as a tank. Why? Because I don't want to use the mouse to target some friendlies (it's pain in the ***, I try to use mouse as less as possible). So I do it with "target closest friendly target" ability. But sometimes, I want to aim carefully and target some ally, but most of the times, I just target someone who is a little bit closer. And usually, that's not the guy who is dying! So, please, return back this option to target any - enemy or friendly - target with that "Target the center of the screen" ability. I (and I guess many others) will be very grateful! My suggestion: Simple *check* option in Preferences should do the trick for everyone who would want this behaviour enabled. Thank you!
