  1. This is stupid. ummm I am able to craft some dyes. And the red-white dye is popular, yet only goes for about 8k. And it makes my gear look bad ***. And are people complaining about using cartel coins to get dyes? wow, really. They are a ton of people that are free to play. How would you all suggest they make money? hmmm?

I love the dye system. this was a great idea. Room to improve? sure. But i am sure minor changes will be made in the future.

Here is a thought. You cant make EVERYONE happy. I dont like how i need to pay to be cathar...but im over it. I will buy the unlock off gtn using creds i worked my rear off for. Bioware needs to make money to offset the cost of development and pay their employees. Dont whine. Play the game. Enjoy it. Its freaking Star Wars. If you dont like it, i will take over your account for you all...

Its not perfect...but it is fun.

I would somewhat agree with you....but a lot including me (from peep I talk with ingame) are more annoyed at the randomness of the packs you buy from the CM (I only use my free coins). Why can't you choose the colour you want is all I'm saying. Would love the black colours but don't think I should have to pay a 1-2m (or more) on the gtn for it nor copious amounts of CC's from the CM for it and even then only a maybe that I get it. That part of the dye implementation is crazy imo.

Hopefully they will allow crafters to make ALL the colours and we can see some normality with this.

  2. They are certainly more difficult than previous missions. What I like is that you can't just take it in the face like you could with previous missions, it actually requires you to coordinate your abilities and move around. I complete these daily and the weekly when it falls due. I'm glad that not every man and his dog will have the space titles tbh.

My advice to you is to rewatch the vids on these missions for what you are obviously missing.

  3. Ahhhh the skipping of HM fp's saga. I couldnt care less if someone wants to read the dialogue, I simply spacebar and wait for them to catch up. These days people worry about such insignificant stuff....but anywhos in regards to rude people in fp's I role a healer for my main and I can assure you that you wouldn't be left behind if you were trying to get through while I was grouped with you.

Oh and I wish forum names revealed peeps ingame names so I could addignore the elitist pr*cks in this thread lol. Looks to me like game is very srs bsns for them.......

  4. Yeah they are hard but you need to adapt with these missions. Simply flying straight and just blasting won't work, even with grade 7 parts. Become familiar with the barrell roll, it is an effective fire avoidance tool. Also you need to stay on the move ie zigzagging a lot (watch the incoming fire) and timing your 10 to 15 sec immunity just right. I complete them all as they fall due including the weekly which gives a nice reward of 4bh comms & 80 space comms as well as 5 (or 10, can't remember) daily comms.

Stick with it watch your six and you will succeed.

  5. The reason why people use the term "pay to win" for the grade 7 ship parts is because for people who do not want to pay real money for them, they cost too much space commendations, 500 for each part I believe.

Due to the extremely high amount of space commendations, it has led people to believe that EA is trying to force players to pay real life money for them. Hence the derogatory term "pay to win".

However, a dev has addressed this and agreed that the commendations amount may be too high, and they will look to adjust it.

But the cost and rewards are just badly done. As mentioned, the commendations cost is just too much.

And what is the reward for doing them? Unlocking a daily that only gives 2 BH commendations and 20 space commendations I believe. Only 20? I rather do the much easier Impossible Sector. The rewards should be much higher considering the difficulty.

There should have been a gradual rise in difficulty for the 6 new space missions, to entice players and to encourage grind. 1 or 2 should be possible to do with grade 6 ship parts. Then slowly but surely, you grind your way up to the most difficult last one. But no, all 6 are extremely difficult, and require the grade 7 ship parts.

^ This....I've completed 3 of them so far but yeah for the rewards Vs risk so to speak its far easier just doing impossible sector. The daily unlock (or is it a weekly?) does give 40 fleet comms with the 2 bh comms though, so marginally better.

  6. I think someone summed it up well on the 1st or 2nd page of this thread, even though we are in the minority compared to the US servers you are still annoying a lot of players on these oceanic servers that BW specifically created (which was very accomodating of them).

But I'd consider several thousand customers (maybe even 10s of thousands as oceanic isn't 'just' Australia and NZ) in anyones books to be a lot of customers to potentialy annoy/drive away.

Staggering the maintenance times specific to regions should happen and as far as I'm concerned it's just laziness on BW's part. Heck in my line of work (global) we don't take our sytems offline for server work until Sundays as our stores are open every other day......you do not want to give customers any reason to try someone else's product.

  7. Completely agree with the op.......I have a lvl 32 toon and it's costing me 1k per mod each time to swap/slot new bits on my gear which is doing my head in. You say the costs go as far as 30k plus? Why can't it be free if you use a bench (which clearly isn't required so why are they there?). I guess this isn't the point though because surely a crafter could swap bits out for no cost (even more so an armour or weap crafter who specialises). What's next we get charged for gas on our speeders lol.
  8. my guild once camped a dumbchit in EQ until his body rotted.... that was a FUN week! be thankful MMO's nowadays come with pacifiers and a wet nurse willing to let you suckle.

Lol I feel sorry for you dude, like get a life. I guess you and your frands had a good pvp week huh?

  9. Isn't aurek base like a lvl 35ish to 40 area? Yeah it's a pvp server (I play on one too) but camping an area where most of the players flowing through will be 10 or so levels lower than you.......yeah you guys are bad*ss. But hey different strokes for different folks right?
  10. Slicing/scavenging/underworld trading

The first two are easy money as they literally cost you nothing as you gather resources etc.

It takes no time to get a stack of 99 grade 1 or 2 or 3 etc compounds and metals that cost you nothing but you can sell on the GTN, easy money.

Underworld T does cost to send on missions but I have found the return very good. Also UWT yields purple quality mats that are worth plenty more than the blue mats. I can spend 500 crds on a lvl 1 or 2 mish and have 4 blue mats and 2 purples returned that will yield 2k for the mullinine (grade 2) & a couple k for the 2 purples (agrinium or alusteel).

Granted you don't always get purples but they do often enough as far as I'm concerned that I've made a LOT of money just selling resources via scavenge/UWT not to mention the free money that comes from slicing all the nodes on each planet you travel on.

Anyone that says they can't make money in this game just isn't prepared to do any work to get it.

  11. I never leave wz's no matter how bad it is but God knows I completely understand why people do. Had a pug in novare coast where we couldn't even hold one node and the repubs in the end were practically camping our exit/entry point. I hope bio ware has cross server pvp or at least merge servers as the same people queuing their premades surely can't think that farming the same random pugs is a viable thing going forward.
  12. Anyone having problems with the last couple of missions (ie the hardest) you need to get full purple ship parts as this increases your dmg/shots per second/shield regen/shield strength quite a bit more than the lolvendor lvl 5 ship parts. By level 50 you have access to the purples as well (lvl 49 I think is the last piece requirement).

Also as others have stated obtain the power module that lets you switch power between guns and shields, mine is set to more power to guns for the most part and I only switch it to shields when needed. The shield regen is quite fast when it's on this setting too. I often am switching between the 2 all through a fight. You do need to stop firing though for your shields to regenerate though. As a default these 2 keys are bound to numbers 1 & 2 so easy.

Another helpful bit of kit is the electronic warfare pad (obtainable at lvl 35 from the ship vendor) as this allows your ship not to be targeted for 10 secs so total immunity for that time. This is on a 3 minute or so timer from memory (I hardly use it anymore) so you can use it a couple times in a fight.

With full purple gear you should be running with the following stats -

    Ship toughness 3350

    Rate of fire 10

    Blaster dmg 100

    Shield regen 30

    Shield absorb 600

    Missiles 150

Use missiles all the time too, I'm always snapping off 2 missiles per against fighters whipping past me before they shoot their rounds off so that my shields regenerate (only blaster fire stops the regen process) then I switch back to power for guns.

With the above equipment I don't ever die in the space missions, I hardly even take dmg to the hull.

Good luck and watch ya six.

  13. Oh I like that analogy.... when I go to this hypothetical fair, can I opt out of loud music, or the bad smells? No? You mean if I go to a fair I have to accept some things I don't like to enjoy the things I do like? So if the things I don't like far exceed the enjoyment I get from the things that I do like I guess I should just stay home.

/facepalm is all I can say to ^

  14. No, "urnotrite."

If this demonstrates the intellectual level of individuals that want content removed entirely, I can safely say SWTOR has nothing to worry about. Bioware has professionals on their staff that specialize in writing and understanding coded languages, and I doubt even they'd be able to decipher this nonsense.

You actually did pay for this game "to spend it dealing with the stupid things like this." Read those agreements you accepted so readily without taking the time to find out what they contained. There's some text in there that essentially means you are agreeing to access an online environment that can and will change, sometimes unexpectedly and without your consent. The Plague event, and the plague itself remaining after the event, are examples of this particular type of change; you are indeed paying to experience them.

Where in my post did I say I want the content removed? You wish to participate go right ahead, I don't.

As for 'you agree to the terms and conditions bla bla bla' lol, clutching at straws there my friend. Has nothing to do with that and has all to do with what I as the paying customer wish to do and not do in this game that I pay for. So you goto the county fair and hop on every single ride and experience every single thing there? You have choices......

  15. Clearly you don't PvP either. With the tons of CC in this game I never even noticed the plague stun. Sure it may have affected a few 1v1's but quite frankly you are overstating the impact.

What difference does that make? It happens and it shouldn't be is the point being made here......

  16. The biggest failure on BioWare's part for this event was making it an opt-out system, instead of opt-in. Players who did not want to participate had it forced on them anyway in the form of:

    1) Purchasing an overpriced vaccine from a limited amount of vendors.

    2) The hordes of huddled up players at fleet trying to infect as many others as possible.

    3) The above vaccine often bugging and not staying active for the full 6 hours.

The plague was funny the first time. Maybe even the 2nd. But by the 10th time, I was done. It was a stupid event in my opinion, mostly because I had to avoid fleet and my normal playing habits or spend another 2k on a vaccine that may or may not work for more than an hour. I would imagine for lower level toons this event was especially tiresome.

Couldn't agree more, it's beyond me why bioware didn't have an opt in/out thing. If the plague thing persists I'll just go look else where for an mmo. It's my money I'm paying each month.

  17. Yes, you want everything pertinent to the reward removed. You can hand in your rewards and pets at the door. Codex entries as well. Oh, any experience you might have gained, too.

World events are intended to have a lasting effect on the game world. If well-planned and executed properly, their impact is felt for some time after an events conclusion. The continuing occurrences of the Plague are just one example of this.

Personally, I think the raklings should periodically explode, infecting their owner when they do all over again.

lol I bet you are one of those peeps who think our toons should goto the bathroom and eat each day amirite? Your level of immersion in this game is different to others, if you want to travel around planets being lolinfected all the time be my guest. I didn't pay for this game to spend it dealing with the stupid things like this.

But hey different strokes for different folks right!
