  1. I didn't kite him around. I just added that in there because some people find it easier. I just shived him, dropped into cover and blew him off the platform. Once he's off, you can fight him like normal, just use your interrupts, and keep him off you with knock backs and leg shot.
  2. My one complaint about Hoth was that the Tauntauns neighed like horses. But, yeah, I do limit my time on Hoth to about an hour because it makes my eyes hurt. I love the immersive feel though. I thought night-time Taris was worse. I could barely see the mobs.
  3. There are a couple ways to beat him solo. I don't know what AC you are, but I have a sniper. Get at max range and send your companion in to attack him. When he attacks, put your companion on passive - he will follow. Leg shot him when he comes off his platform. Send your companion back in and fight him as normal. It is very important to interrupt his lightning attack - flash bang, shiv, whatever. You can also LOS him by running behind the computer consoles. I used a dps companion, got up on the platform behind him and then shived him. Then I blew him off the platform with Cover Pulse. He's not bugged once he's off the platform. Hope this helps!
  4. I have a LS sniper and find it works very well. It makes no sense to my character to go around slaughtering everyone who could be an asset. I also have very high affection from Kaliyo because I like to piss off the Sith. When I got Vector, I mostly ditched Kaliyo. Vector loves everything I do, and he was easier to have around. He's not as funny unless you find ants hilarious. I also have a LS BH and that's worked well too. You can double cross everyone and then collect the reward from both your intended mark and your client. LS Inquisitor has been odd. Most of the dialog choices are still on the evil side, but you can choose to spare people for potentially more power or something... I haven't gotten as far along the story with this one.
  5. Throw in a unicorn horn, and we have a deal!
  6. There is an NPC in the IA story on Tatooine that sounds exactly like Leonard Nimoy.
  7. The abuse of the snake trap to grief people was what finally made Blizzard change their pvp flag mechanics, IIRC. You will not get flagged by using aoe near a flagged character in WoW. Now, I left shortly after Cataclysm so maybe they reverted that change too, but I was on a 90% Alliance server and I played Horde. There would have been endless opportunities for griefing if it were as simple as jumping into my aoe, and it never happened to anyone as far as I know. I do remember flagged players jumping in and out of my aoe hoping that I would slip up and tab target them. In TOR, my husband got flagged accidentally when he wandered into the wrong base. The NPCs ganked him before he could get out, and we laughed about it while we waited for his flag to fade... Then his healer companion put a HoT on me and flagged me too. /facepalm Actually, now that I think about it, I believe Blizzard changed their pvp flag mechs before the snake trap, and that the snake trap was just bugged leading to "hilarious" fun. It was so long ago, I can't really remember - point being it does not work that way in WoW.
  8. If you have enough commendation tokens, you can get an orange blaster on Taris. You can buy a green one from the weapon vendor there too. I have no idea why he doesn't come with one, but he will wade into melee range and start punching if you don't equip him with something. I admit, I laughed.
  9. Yep. See this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=44898 You can beat him solo even in his bugged state, but my best advice is to bring a friend and avoid the frustration.
  10. Sniper here. I beat him by standing behind him, stabbing him so he'd acknowledge my lowly presence, and then very quickly blowing him off his platform with Cover Pulse. I also used Vector. I just interrupted his lightning and dps'd him down... then I wept quietly when I realized I had to fight him multiple times. I put in a ticket and reported his bugged ***, but who knows when he'll be fixed.
  11. My problem was not having any friends with characters anywhere close to my level to help and I play at odd hours. Also, around the 5th time he killed me, things had gotten personal. I was determined to kill my pixelated tormentor bug or no bug. Sad to admit, but it was immensely satisfying to beat him.
  12. You can stand just within targeting range, send your companion to attack and then put it on passive as soon as your companion gets aggro. The boss will then come off the platform - or he might just stun your companion and stay up on the platform. So, I did not kill him this way because he would have my companion to half health within seconds and still be in the same place. Sometimes he'd run off, sometimes not. What I did was take out Vector who was as well geared as I had Kaliyo. I went up on the platform and got behind him and then stabbed him. I then immediately knocked him off the platform with Cover Pulse - which is why I was directly behind him so he would get knocked down the stairs. Once he's off that platform you can target him just fine. Then it's just a matter of interrupting his lightning and keeping him off you. It was not an easy fight due to the bug, and Cover Pulse did not always go off... Gotta love hearing click click click and nothing happens even though it's not on cd. And then you get to kill him again! Good luck. He's definitely beatable solo, but you have to use all your tricks. My best advice is to bring a friend.
