All servers should have been VMs & only logical, not a 1:1 r/ship with any named server. That way there would only be 1 US economy & 1 EU. Like GW did years ago - just use temp 'districts' & a common International server to play with peeps from the other major home zones. I mean really, why is every mmo publisher still sticking to this sucky, antiquated model? I can only assume BW are using racks of hosted VMs for the server farm & not a 1:1 server name<->physical box setup...surely? :-/ Multiple, fixed servers are counter-productive & prevent people who meet later in their characters' careers from playing together. You know, like on the forums say! Why are you still using fixed server environments BW? Did you have to copy even this redundant design from WoW & its ilk? You can't load balance the servers or their populations with the current model & all it creates is a whole lot of angst from the user base, for whatever reason (this thread being just one example).

It's frightening that we even need servers in this day & age. Guild Wars did this right 6 years ago.

I dub these forums the 1st MMOFG in history! So many posts in real-time one can't possibly keep up to read most threads, much less all of them! I think BW should data mine the crap out of these & create a new type of online neural-net AI game. I would preorder it day 1, so long as they have Aus servers <BFG>.

Yeah, LOLOLOL! Wonder what class Paris is playing I didn't preorder early because I had no idea it would matter as far as EGA would be concerned. Never seen an email from BW on the topic & been subbed here for a couple years. Wasn't going to read web forums for pure conjecture & a game that hadn't had a release date announced as yet. 1st beta in Oct made it a no brainer for me though. No grace period will hurt even more though once I get kicked off on Dec 20 (after just 1 or 2 days on) at the mercy of EA/BW, then have to rely on the mercies of Amazon & postal services to down under & wait for box to arrive. Why of why couldn't we order from Origin, if you let us buy it from other retailers ffs BW? Why oh why couldn't you get the box retailers to send us the retail key when shipping the game BW? I guess we're not really even on the radar in Aus for this launch, so I shouldn't be surprised we're barely an afterthought *sigh*.
