  1. I would agree that Battlefront II was fantastic (never played I), and I was disappointed that they cancelled III. I don't really think that marketing would have been a problem - there are many rabid Star Wars fans who would pre-order it without hesitation. Fans would have done their marketing for them. (As for your purple font, I can actually read it more clearly than the default white text... Probably why it doesn't bother me. Each to their own, I suppose)
  2. There are no Dathomirians in TOR's timeline. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Witches_of_Dathomir However, Dathomirians seemed to be a generic term for any being born on Dathomir. Though, Human/Zabrak hybrids were regarded as the actual Dathomirian species, there were Humans, Zabraks and Rattataki born on Dathomir also considered Dathomirians. I'd be against Dathomirian being an in-game species. My reasons are : 1) They do not belong in this era. 2) They are similar to Zabraks/Humans/Rattataki - these species are already in-game. 3) There isn't a clear definition as to what a Dathomirian is. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dathomirian
  3. I'm pretty sure it will run SWTOR at Max graphics settings, judging it by the processor and motherboard. I'm not sure about the graphics card though (Not because I think it's bad, I just don't know anything about graphics cards ).
  4. I'd say, as mentioned above, it will vary. Some planets have no actual Government, and there are more than two significant civilisations (Sith Empire, Republic, Chiss ascendency etc.) with differnt laws. Also, regarding the Chiss, they are considered adults at 13/14 and have a physiology similar to a 20-year old Human at that age. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Chiss Therefore, it's probably different depending on the species involved and the Government jurisdictions.
  5. From what I've seen there are no broken classes (there are minor imbalances, but nothing game-breaking). I understand that some classes are at a disadvantage when fighting certain other classes, but there are always workarounds and strategies. The classes in SWTOR are very balanced in comparison to other MMOs I've played. Really, I think that this is about you being unhappy playing your current advanced class. I'm not saying you are bad at the game or can't play properly, but certain people excel at certain roles. For example, I consider myself and excellent tank and I was a competent healer in other games, but I can't play DPS roles effectively. I understand your frustration, but you'd simply be better re-rolling as your desired class/AC/role. I don't foresee them implementing the ability to change advanced classes.
  6. Personally, I'd say Sith Pureblood. My primary reason would be the fact that Purebloods have more customization options (in my opinion). Also, I'd rather have a character with hair - Rattataki are all bald. I'd also note that you will seldom be referred to as a slave after you leave Korriban, so that isn't going to have a massive impact on your gaming experience and immersion. Also, if you plan on role-playing etc., most people create unique stories for their character (which rarely follow the in-game story).
  7. I think he knows that... GMT isn't listed there. However, I thought that BST was "British Summer Time"? I might be wrong, though. (Though, there are countless time-zone converters available on-line, so it's more of a minor inconvenience than an issue which needs to be addressed)
  8. I'm fairly certain it's due to the Columni bonus. They designed it so that the mods could be transferred to other modifiable armour. I presume the mods are locked to a particular piece of armour (E.g. Footwear, chest, legs etc.) so that people could have bonus without the actual Columni armour. If the bonus could be added to any piece of gear, then it would be easy to get the set. There is also a potential for exploitation.
  9. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Citadel_(Sith_Empire) You mean this one? If so, I think the one they went with is better... In any case, I believe the Citadel's codex entry mentions that the original citadel was destroyed in a duel between two Dark Council members a few hundreds years before SWTOR.
  10. They're usually pretty obvious. However, the black and red symbol will be in the centre of the wheel when you hover over a dark-side choice (And white/blue for light side).
  11. Yes. For example... So, force-alignment does have a minor impact on your story. And at NO point can you swap factions. This may be added at some point, but it is unlikely.
  12. I agree with most of your points but the Sith Rule of Two does makes sense. I could only recommend that you read the Darth Bane trilogy (EU, but do make a lot of sense and provide a good read). Also, as much as I loved Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon seems to be a fan-favourite. He was a more realistic character, as he was somewhat a maverick and broke the normal Jedi archetype. As for the questionable aspects of the Jedi code, we may not agree with them but the Jedi code is an important and established part of SW lore. It's part of being a Jedi. Also, what really ruined the prequels for me was Hayden Christiansen. He is a poor actor and he portrayed Anakin(Darth Vader!) as a whiny kid.
  13. This. I'd imagine that the end-game Sith Warrior could stop Vemrin without drawing their lightsaber.
  14. I am not certain, but I know from other class companions (Mako) that courting gifts can be used post-act 1. May be different for Elara, but I imagine it'll be the same. It appears that companion story is dictated by class story progress (and affection) with no real impact by level. You can't complete some later companion missions which contain combat if the level gap is too great, though.
  15. Well, I can't really say anything regarding post-RoTJ novels as I haven't really explored that era of EU novels. However, the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn seems to be popular. I will say that the Darth Bane trilogy by Drew Karpshyn is my favourite series of Star Wars novels. They are set before the movies but after SWTOR (1000 years prior to the movies, I believe?). The Republic Commando novels by Karen Traviss are also rather good. I'll say that the worst novel I have ever read (Undoubtedly) is "Star Wars : Death Troopers". It's ... just awful. Presumably, the sequal "Red Harvest" will be equally dreadful. Edit : I also forgot the new "Revan" and "Decieved" novels by Drew Karpshyn and Paul Kemp, respectively. They tie into SWTOR and are decent reads. However, many people do not like the ending of "Revan".
  16. I think they did a reasonable job with it. Firstly, I'm certain that the sarlacc pit is on Tatooine in SWTOR. Secondly, you must remember that SWTOR is 3000 years prior to the movies - Mos Eisley probably won't exist for centuries. Personally, I'm more excited about other planets like Nar Shadda, Hoth and Illum. In any case, Tatooine does feel like a small stepping-stone during levelling. However, we may well see more content there at a later date.
  17. SWTOR = 3000 or so years prior to the movies Kyle Katarn = Active after the movies Revan would not live anywhere close to the movie era...
  18. Now, I played SWG and I thought it was a fantastic game, but no. Also, what you are talking about already exists to some extent. It's called the "SWG EMU". http://site.swgemu.com/forums/index.php Personally, I think SWG had a good run but it's time is over.
  19. This was hilarious. However, as a Scotsman, I must tell you that his accent was Welsh! Another epic moment is when Darth Zash asks the Inquisitor how they got a holocron from one of the tombs on Korriban; " How did you release the holocron?" "I performed a complex ritual in which I had to sacrifice and eat the hearts of several Tu'kata." " Really? Didn't work when I tried it..." (Something to that effect)
  20. Interesting... My first point is that there is no logical reason why they would frown upon the use of double-bladed or dual-wield lightsabers. Secondly, Satele Shan (Grand Master of the Jedi Order, Leader of the Jedi Council) uses a double-bladed lightsaber. I'm intrigued as to where you read this? It may be the case but I've never heard anything to support your claim.
  21. As well as the other reasons mentioned, Palpatine had refused to vacate the position and give up the emergency powers granted to him by the Senate. In other words, the reasons were numerous. Also, a self-proclaimed Sith Lord would be a renegade force-sensitive or a fallen/dark jedi. This thread should probably be in the "General Star Wars Discussion" as it isn't slightly relevant to the game?
  22. I understand what you're saying, but the Jedi Order only has one Grand Master at a time. In the SWTOR timeline it is Satele Shan, I believe? I think Darth is actually the equivalent to "Sith lord" and "Lord" http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Master
  23. Umm... The game hasn't been online for even a day. There is no "Best" server for anything yet - only a fraction of the people who are going to play are in-game. I'd advise that you play on a heavily-populated pvp server?
