What happened to superservers?
Could be wrong but as far as I am aware we are using them now...and have been for ages

Restriction too hash i mesn u need those credite cree skills and hotbars etc etc. downlaoding rift again now played at launch and its f2p model is way better. Booware think they are gaining customers but most just see whats there and leave or just stay f2p and never sub
Plus the class system and engine are more robust and not laggy
1. You have no evidence or way of knowing if people see what's there and leave or never sub. That's just another one of your flat out lies. Bioware have confirmed that subs are the vast majority of the playerbase compared to free to play. The game is also making profit as per their last earnings call.
2. I enjoyed RIFT for a short while but it's ultimately quite generic, quite shallow and a lot of it feels borrowed rather than original so the shine and desire to play faded quickly. It is also very very pay to win in their cash shop which is another thing that drove me away.

Just ask if a subscriber would play this game as Preferred. I will tell you the answer: NO.
Thats the big point here and where EA will lose the war against smartest companies.
Errr excuse me...I'm a sub albeit have spent time as preferred and I thought it was perfectly fine...a couple of minor annoyances but....what do you expect when you are playing for free...
I think the major difference between the gams in the OP is that those other games are happy if you play and never sub as long as you buy trinkets and pay2win items....whereas TOR's freemiummodel aggressively tries to make you sub...and doesn't offer pay2win items in the shop...nothing wrong with that IMO.

I have a single idea for the two year anniversary....they should implement some kind of subscriber loyalty reward. Something similar to the veteran reward system in SWG.
I've been saying this for a while and would support
Holo statues and figurines were always my favourite..

Likewise, I still play my 5.25" floppy disk games on my old IBM PC XT - at least I did until it died last month. I do it for the same reason I have watch the original trilogy over 1000 times by this point, and read the LOTR trilogy at least once a year (and have done so for almost 20 years).
And how much total time in the OT was spent in space - you know actually spent flying a ship in space, compared to the time spent inside a space station or on the surface of a planet. I think you would be surprised how little "space" Star Wars actually contains in comparison.
Ep 4: The entire climactic end of the film was set flying ships in space...
Ep5: Han spent most of the film flying the falcon in space
Ep6: Again a large portion of the films climax focused on a large space battle
Plus all the other smaller sequences that involved space flight spread throughout the trilogy...
"That's no moon"
"That's great kid, don't get cocky"
"Baby, baby hold together"
Etc etc etc
I think you would be surprised how much space time Star Wars actually contains...

Don't play with sharp objects, then.
Says the guy calling someone else a "dick."
Irony is dangerous.
Yes that's right...if you report a thief to the police and say that persons a thief and here is the proof....that does not make you a thief just because you correctly identify a thief as a thief and call him a thief.

Obviously not for you, Mr. I Quit in May (per your sig) But I Still Keep Posting Using a "Friend's" Account.
What kind of kook quits playing a game but keeps ranting on its forums?
I see no rant here...I simply see people discussing ideas for world PvP...
I do see you being a dick to others though
Driz

Im not angry im honest if you dont like it thats your problem. If you didnt cherry pick my statemts youd see the ones where i offered ideas for pvp and sins. Once there is something positive to post about i will do so
So go play Firefall and tell us all about your positive experience there, in a game that has so little to do that it doesn't even have PvP....at least SWTOR has a PvP game
Driz
-
Hate to say it but firefall has a way better engine and its still in beta itz pretty fun too. Especially when theres nothing left to do in swtor
Wait...what? You mean Firefall, the game where the devs have removed PvP from the game as it was utilised by 3% of the player base?
GG....

I would like to bring everyone to the attention of THIS VIDEO in which clearly shows a player abusing the game using a hack program that is assisted by a "bot".
This player specifically has bee reported numerous times by the OP of this thread...yet almost a month later, this player is still permitted to exploit the game.
Confirmed at least one player.
Also confirmed. The Bot never attacks players, only NPCs.
Also confirmed. I am in full Partison PvP gear with one Conqueror Ear Piece on this particular character with almost all pieces Augmented. (Note, there is very little difference between Partison and Conqueror gear.) This particular Bot became very hard to kill, which indicates the bot used to hack, had an AI that activated cool downs at precise times.
The OP has a point here. All a Dev has to do is log on, and watch the bot in action. This post was made by the OP way back in 9/02/13. It is now 9/24/13. Yet, the player is obviously still using bots and it is obvious the GMs has done little, if anything, to prevent this player from doing it again. It is quite apparent this particular player has a clear and blatant disregard for the EULA.
Has it now become policy for the Devs to ignore reports made against hackers? I notice Gold Farmer companies who consistently spam lowbie worlds for their web sites also go extended periods of time without being removed from the game. I have to question the Devs on this one. You come to the forums and discuss forum moderation...you are instantly suspended from communicating on the forums. Action against your account is almost immediate. Yet a player can hack the game for weeks if not months and nothing is done about it. Devs...what exactly is your policy for the game now? Has your policy changed? When I see things in game like this, it truly makes me question what rules are overlooked if broken and which ones are not. Is it perhaps time to revise the rules and the tolerance levels coincided with those rules? Would sure make my gaming experience less stressful if I knew which rules were not worth my time to stop and report when I see players who abuse and exploit the game. If I knew which reports would be overlooked if not outright ignored, I could move on and not waste my time reporting these Hackers. I do not like wasting time to write out a report, if that report is going to be ignored.
Lol...nice vid
Obvious bot is obvious...hopefully a ban is incoming!!

Then they do not know how to RP very well.
Oh they do...
It's just a higher quality experience with chat bubbles because it allows you soak up the RP atmosphere and doesn't force you have to try and keep up with everything that's going on in the chat box.
Driz

Chat bubbles are not necessary for good RP. Good RP is in the mind, not in the pixels.
An interesting opinion. Thanks for sharing...
Chat bubbles may not be necessary for RP....but for good quality RP? Many would argue they are required.

For the most part, I have to agree with Randle.
The IP is a huge attraction to this game, and it is what had/has me emotionally invested into this game. The problem with PvP is that BioWare just kept taking away and taking away, and its future at the moment doesn't seem so bright. Sure, they're introducing Arenas but they're being executed almost just the same exact way Ranked WZs were. Even though the combat team is mostly for PvP, they have no understanding on how each class and their specs really works because PvP is just going to be full of lolSmashers and Scouperative trolololols.
It just got to the point where more of BW's choices, lack of interaction with the PvP community and overall focus on the system itself "tipped the scale", and the IP just didn't really matter anymore.
If you quit again Jurgens I for one will miss your grumpy sense of humour which somehow compliments you forum avatar perfectly...

LOL! I nearly lost some soda when I saw this response. Why is the hand 'blue' ?
Lol...guess he is from the UK...the National lottery over here has the logo of like a big blue hand and the marketing tag line for the lottery is "It's You!!"

In other words... Many people were hoping TOR was going to be Star Wars, and it's way too Phantom Menace.
Consider that stolen

Polls completed as promised...
Oh and of course..

Firstly I'd like to thank all those involved in this rewrite for not only their effort but also for listening to the feedback from other posters and being able to find some middle ground in terms of presentation
The revised wording and presentation of this open letter is a drastic improvement over the original IMO!!
I've got a couple of errands to run this morning so I will be giving it a thorough read through later...but based on what I've read I will also be completing the polls and signing the petition

No because I understand that no on-line service, subscription based or otherwise guarantees 100% error free uptime.

Vote with your wallet all you want bioware is blind and deaf by choice they already lost half their subs and didnt do much to change course so why think anyone else leaving will get their attention. Ppl left cuz of balance and endgame content. What do they do? Add a space minigame. If that isnt listenig idk what is
Your right, that is what I call listening...
Listening to the literally thousands of players who have been asking for the space game to be improved since launch.
In other news...Sins are fine.

When I first started playing this game one of the things this game did right was the space combat. I was always a big fan of the Star Fox series and let's face it, Who doesn't wanna shout "Pew Pew Pew" while firing lasers?
So Thank you Bioware for taking one of your good concepts you have in-game and expanding on it to add something refreshing for a change.
+1
Do I wish it will be as comprehensive at JTL with PvE, PvP, mining, exploration and cool POIs to find? Of course, but even though I know the scope is likely to be limited in comparison I am very happy that the space game is being expanded on
Looking forward to it!!

No thanks OP.
Forcing COD style FPS combat into an MMORPG just doesn't work imo and it's why I do not play TERA any more. It is also seriously putting me off Black Desert (although just about everything else in that game looks cool).

So why are some ppl so hung up on something thats too hard with crap rewards and even worse mechanics. I dont get it it almost seems like they are fanboys that love everything bioware does
Maybe because the space game is based on one of the most massively popular 16bit space games that was ever produced which gives people an opportunity to take a break from the grind in order to have some pure and simple fun.
But don't bother replying. I have no desire in reading more, mostly incoherent nonsense from someone that publicly admits they are here to simply troll this game and it's community.

I'm opening myself to mockery here, I know...
