He got the "18 years" thing from the fact the RotS takes place 19 BBY. Short answer for you OP is that stress of being hunted by the empire and the intensity from Tattooine's two suns rapidly increased the aging in Obi-Wans face and hair. And to your other question: The amount of Imperial propaganda was extremely high in the Dark times. Many people eventually came to believe that the Force actually WAS just superstitious nonsense.

To answer your question OP. The reason why some may find it as bad as the other PT movies is the acting and writing is still awful at times. I personally think that RotS is on par with the OT(Aside from the awful acting and writing at times, it's pretty good.)

December 2nd here. My PC's motherboard died in august so I wasn't going to preorder a game I had no idea if I'd get to play or not. Thankfullly I got a new PC that can handle swtor. My guess is that us procrastinators will get in either tomorrow or(most likely) Friday. Can't wait :D:D
