  1. Happened to me once. Right as the match was going to end, so I ended up not getting any of the rewards. Apparently I was top medals and MVP too, I was told...
  2. Since you want East PVP, I would recommend Jung Ma - the second most populated east PVP server. It's actually Rp-PVP, but IMO thats actually a good thing. No queues like with the Fatman, i have yet to run into any trolls (Fatman was full of them from the moment i logged on). Recently started playing Republic there and have had a very good experience so far. If you want to look at PVE progression info and guilds, look at the Server Forum sections and take a look at the server PVE threads there.
  3. Oh, nice. I went Armormech too. I would say Biochem is the best skill overall, both in terms of usefulness (making yourself meds and stims, not to mention infinite use purples!) and in terms of making money (some days i would make 100'000s from biochem and bioanlysis stuff on the GTN). Went with armormech for my trooper though just cause I wanted something else than Biochem though.
  4. Uh, what? Before 1.2, you could place your Legacy name after your char's name or below it, but not before - and its still the same. I thought this was going to be about changing what your legacy name is, which I totally want - I don't like my legacy name, wish i could change it.
  5. Standard PVP Tank: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GRGr0oroGRZMsMZb.1 Taugrimm's "Iron Fist". meant more for close range combat: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GRGb0RroMZMcrroZb.1 Im kinda new to Vanguard myself, Im probably gonna end up using one of these two builds myself. They're fundamentally the same, except the first has points in the top 2 tiers of Shield Specialist while the second puts the points into Tactics, and the choice of 2 points in Rebraced Armor or Defensive Measures. Still not sure which one Ill pick myself, I guess it will depend on my experience in PVP while leveling.
  6. I've got the exact same question... Specifically, Im wondering whats best for a Darkness Assassin. Would the same thing apply to a Jugg tank as well? For PVP, you can't go wrong with expertise. But that's only useful for PVP and not for PVE. So Im wondering if Power might not be better as it can be useful both in PVP and PVE. Or would it be better to get an expertise for PVP and endurance for PVE? The +41 endurance only adds health, if Im not mistaken, which doesnt seem like that big a boost though I know barely anything about PVE I will admit... For Sorcs, the answer would be Power, as its useful for both PVP and PVE for them.
  7. Yes! This thread has a winner! I used to play Company of Heroes listening to Sabaton, it was the most perfect fit possible...
  8. Hey. I just started a Vanguard and am just looking for some tips, builds, and advice to help me get into the class. So far I am loving how it plays, playing a ranged class makes it feel like a whole different game. I plan to do both PVE and PVP. Im thinking of going tank, but Im also interested in how Vanguard DPS fares. And Ive started to read over Taugrim's guide and am looking at his "Ironfist" spec. Any other good builds I should consider? And what would the rotations be?
  9. Are you kidding? There is an overflow of activity on Tatooine. As someone who is into world PVP, Im loving it. Tatooine's been a lot of fun, and Ive only started doing the dailies yesterday. You should by happy that it is actually causing community activity... even if part of it is inactivity.
  10. Thank you. It was frustrating as heck losing over and over due to bad PUGs while getting 7+ medals almost every time and getting little reward for it. On a server where one side seems to do significantly better, this is a really big improvement. A player who does well but has a terrible team shouldn't be punished for it in my opinion, due to the random nature of teams. Little rewards for losses are fine in ranked WZ's with 8-man premades, but not with randomly put together teams. Also, Im hoping this will stop some of the massive leaving that has started since 1.2 due to people thinking that they are not going to get any rewards so they might as well quit...
  11. Well then, it seems we have the perfect guild for you! We just started a re-roll guild on Jung Ma (east RP-PVP), Republic faction. In fact we just made the guild yesterday, have a lot of players new to the server. We also have a lot of night time players, if that is when you are on. Let me know if you are interested. See our thread here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=397766&page=5
  12. The None idea is decent. Also, how about Mars? Bars Mars then, but I could see how it would be cool for other chars and even as "The Mars Legacy."
  13. Props for creativity. The Hot Potato thing actually sounds decent, people who dont ever pass make things unnecessarily hard in what is supposed to be a team game.
  14. A decent read, gets right to the points. Hits the nails right ont he heads: bad reward structures, damage increased too much while healing decreased too much. I had no idea how much I enjoyed decent PVP until its gone.
  15. In a group of 8 randomly assigned people who will be together for only 15 minutes in a fast paced environment, this is practically impossible if they are not good or at least competent players to begin with (and a lot of people aren't).

    warzone rewards

Unfortunately, Bioware made some pretty poor decisions regarding warzone rewards and gear that really hurt players who didn't already have BM gear, play mainly in PUGs, like to play mainly PVP and not PVE... a lot anyway. Not to mention questionable balance changes. It's sad to see how many people are unsubbing (or claiming to do so) because of the changes to PVP, but if the mainly did PVP, I dont blame them. For me, the changes took quite a bit of the fun out of PVP. Im sticking around to play through some more class stories and am hoping that by the time I have another 50 or two, they'll have fixed things up.
  17. Not quite. Im close to giving up on PVP. But I will stay to do a few more class stories and try Republic side, since ive been all Imp so far.
  18. Yeah, that. Good pop but kinda imbalanced PVP. In PUGs, i often go 4 or 5 games without a win. Before, it was bearable, but at least I knew I was on my way to getting better gear. Now, there's almost no point.
  19. Yeah, i just made a post about this but actually explaining it, as an above poster did. Annoyed me too, Im seriously considering giving up or at least drastically reducing my PvP now...
  20. I just want to point out yet another flaw in the changes to PvP rewards. Giving little to no commendations and no credits to the losing team will have a devastating effect on servers with a noticeable faction imbalance in PVP. Players on the faction that fares poorly and loses much more often will: a) not be able to gain gear, giving the already dominating faction and even bigger advantage over time, with more players having better gear, making the problem even worse b) discourage players who are getting no rewards from PVP, causing a lot to stop playing PVP. Again making things worse. Essentially increasing already existing faction dominance by punishing the poorly performing faction. This was a really bad change and is seriously discouraging me from playing PVP. Just as I was starting to enjoy PVP, BW had to change things around with this (and gear changes, dont get me started on those), essentially taking away much of the reason to play PVP. And I fear that things will get even more imbalanced as less decent solo players stop playing.

    Ashara

Yeah... I think I may have missed my one and only chance there. By accident, too.
  22. Thanks for the post, should be helpful here to a rather new 50. Are you basically recommending Survivor gear (for the set bonus I presume?) with Stalker mods and enhancements? So shield and absorb are not that worthwhile in PVP, and crit and surge are a better choice even for tank builds?
  23. Ok, thanks for the responses! So, based on whats been posted, Im gonna go either full stalker or some combination of stalker and survivor. I wouldn't have thought about using a focus, but I guess the consensus seems to be that focus>shield for PVP. And I didnt know about switching mods from PVP gear, hadn't bought a single piece yet. So if I am understanding correctly, all of a classes gear sets have the same armoring; it's the mods (which are removable) that give them the stats. And the set bonuses are the other consideration on deciding which set to take, otherwise I could put any mods into them. Finally, which relics should i take?
