Was it moved? I see this in the smuggler section. Sorry if I posted it in the wrong place initially, I did try to look around to see if the original post was in one of the other forums or if there were any other threads about this.

It appears Bioware deleted this the first time I posted it, or else I just can't find it because Bioware didn't give us the tools to search the forums.
The writing on the Brotherhood mission is an insult to smugglers.
You are warned that the bad guy is going to betray you. So you go to meet him, and when one of his lackeys ambles from in front of you to right beside you and past you, you...do nothing. I don't mean you select for your smuggler to ignore it. Your cunning, sneaky, streetwise smuggler is railroaded into letting a guy blatantly and obviously walk behind him and get the drop on him ,,, even though he was just warned to expect a double cross. His companions do nothing to stop it from happening, and don't react after it happens. They just don't have his back.
That's inexcusably bad writing. The writer and editors should be embarrassed. The editor should have printed out copies of it when it was submitted, explinaed why it was horrible (you treat the character with blatant, immersion killing disrespect out of the blue) and then wadded it up and hit the writer in the face. Then continued pelt the writer with the other copies from time to time to remind the writer never to disrespect the characters that way. It's that bad.
And, yes, it's more of an issue because I had to relive it every time the damn Wampas slaughtered my gunslinger in the poorly written, cliched death trap scenario.
The class has been superbly written until then. The scenario clearly goes against the grain of the character.
It needs fixing.

Beyond fixing the Wampa attacks - I'm told there's a fix coming for the overdone bleeding - the writing is atrocious.
No self-respecting smuggler would, immediately after being warned of an imminent double cross, let a goon walk from directly in front, within arm's length at the side, and then circle back and knock them out.
That's just embarrassingly bad writing. The writer and editors should be ashamed for letting that happen to this class. It makes the most cunning class on the Republic side look like a total rube, and it's pure railroading to get there.
It should be rewritten immediately IMO

You are not a drove. I'm enjoying the game, including PvP (which I've played from level 20 or so on up with my main, who is now level 40). So I doubt there are droves leaving. No one from my guild has left.

Just cancelled my sub as well. Vote with your wallet, its the only way to make a change.. if not, enjy the 120 man instanced PVE servers
Sorry. Were you on the misconception that the only people who can talk about PVP are people who play on PVP servers?
That makes you really, really dumb.

I have a 6-month subscription. By then I figure I'll have 8 characters at level 50, and we'll see what they've added at that point. It's my favorite MMO ... and yes I've played WoW (for a few weeks before deciding it wasn't for me).

It's not a failure at this point. There are some people with zero credibility trying to state it's a failure as though that's a foregone conclusion. Those people are stupid. It's too early to make a statement about that from a business perspective.

Sadly this is another issue with the game. The first 20 levels are a blast. Then the game hits a wall. I'm about to roll another class also. I got a SW to 21, a Inq to 31 and I'm now bored with both because the level completely stalls.
Not an issue with Smuggler. The class story gets better after Chapter 1.

Smuggler writing may very well be some of the worst writing since DA2.
Smuggler writing is great. So unless you mean "sounds like Varric, give somebody a raise for that," you're completely off the mark.

Every good article shows both positive and negative aspects. This article does not. Everyone here will agree to this game being good enough to pay money for. But also that there are negative points to it.
Because this article does not elaborate negative points or does only try to attack the creditibility of those mentioning them: Its just another brainless post that will only cause more "No, its pure crap" answers.
It's not an article. It does contain facts, it isn't brainless, it's light years (intended pun) ahead of the "no it's pure crap" posts.

By arguing with her on this point, you seem to be showing you think "beating WoW (out the box no less) is the sole definition of success for this or any other MMO. I hope not, because if that's what you think you are terminally stupid and should not be allowed to vote or make any meaningful decisions for yourself or anyone else.

I played a few MMOs, years ago. Tried that other game and hated it. Preferred LOTRO. I'm having a blast with this game and plan to continue playing it as it expands, just like any other succesful MMO.
Again, gotta love the Warcraft fanboys trying to convince themselves this game fails.

People must have learned to respect gunslingers since this thread died down. Good imp groups hunt my gunslinger down and he gets the brute squad on sight, or that's how it seems.

I could use advice on this as well. The trouble I find with gunslingers in PVP is that PVP usually involves running battles, and half of the gunslinger's abilities call for the toon to be stationary and in cover. It's ok for guarding turrets and doors, but terrible for moving battles. I'm new to PvP in general, and any advice I can get would be appreciated.

Then there's the next big secret: You cannot pass while CC'd. Can you explain that to the people who, in the past few days, just figured it out and now constantly say "pass pass pass, dude why didn't you pass" when you have the ball?
There's times when I feel like it was a heroic effort (literal use of the word) to get the ball away rather than into the hands of an opposing player when we're close to our own goal, or when I've passed to an opposing player who was about to die and had people ***** about giving the ball away.

Mine was accidentally just happened last night on the good ol'l Brotherhood series.
I've saved the day. I have Bowdaar as a companion. Woman looks at me and says something like "would it be ridiculous if I closed my eyes and said take me away...."
*Suddenly the terrain fades away for a second and the disembodied voice of Risha say in a harsh tone says "Yes"...
