A loss of 400,000 subscribers is quite significant; there's no spinning it or putting a coat of icing sugar on that. Having said that, however, that figure - as others have pointed out - was cited before patch 1.2 went live and we're all left wondering how many new subscribers came to the game at that time and how many re-subscribed.
1.3 million is still a very good figure for a game only five months old. Not to compare it to that "other game" but World of Warcraft boasted 1.5 million subscribers after four months of going live (http://internetgames.about.com/b/2005/03/18/15-million-world-of-warcraft-subscribers-globally.htm). I wonder how many people left World of Warcraft after the first subscription cycle ended only to come back after a major content update or two.

<-- loves the game.

If you're after a raiding guild, consider Excession (guild link in signature) now on Dalborra server.
Our raids schedule is based on Perth time (AWST); we raid three nights a week starting at 7:15pm and finishing around 10pm.
-
I thought this was something strange only happening with me so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Seven hour downtime? What a FANTASTIC window of opportunity! I may even take my wife out tonight and go watch a movie get some dinner, and if the servers are still down by the time we get back, I might even go to the gym. Thank you, Bioware!

Nothing can be worse than the Consular fan/shovel headgear.

If Coruscant had gateways to the ops and flashpoints I can get to via the Republic Fleet, I'd visit there more frequently.

<--- loving it.

Touche!
(Oops type replace the T with a D.)
We'd rather not know how you clean yourself.

Damn that Social life of mine always gets in the way!
How did you get rid of yours?
The same way you became so slow.
... And don't lie; you don't have a social life.

<--- also Australian but not bothered by the scheduled maintenance.
One evening per week away from the game isn't going to kill you.

You can turn off your companion's class/ability attacks by right clicking on the green radio button on the actual hotkey. Your companion will, however, still do their default attack.

Diminishing returns. It's likely in place to discourage farming.

Shocking news: if you saw them, they weren't hidden.

Wookies and Trandoshans.

Before I consciously stopped myself from skim-reading, I used to pronounce/read "alacrity" as "aclarity".

I was getting between 55-90ms from Perth, but I'm staying on The Harbinger for a while longer before thinking about transferring my characters over; I would like to see if the population is as good in late April as it is now and next week, for instance.

Isn't SW:ToR being officially launched in the Japan/Korea region in the near future? Won't a local server for this region be available then?
-
No and no.
It's enough that BoP gear is moveable between yourself and your companion(s); the gear is still exclusive to your character albeit on companions. It, however, would not be "bound" if you could move it between yourself and a completely different character (your alt).
-
I'd give it a month or two before making a decision to move. I'm going to roll an alt on the Aisa-Pacific servers, but my main is staying on The Harbinger.
-
I hope the Asia-Pacific servers are flooded/over-populated and stay that way; that might convince me to move my main character there eventually.

When will a wardrobe/vanity function be implemented? I love being a Consular Sage but I hate looking like a doily.
Did our hamster die?
