  1. If any of you have noticed, a lot of boss fights throughout the game (much more at a high level than lower) love to do some sort of aggro wipe on the tank, for example. Lovely Soa does this during stage 3 after casting mind trap (soon to be fixed). In regards to this, the tank just needs to gain experience in when to use his taunt for when the boss does his aggro wipe. On a different note, I am a mostly Rakata geared Merc, and I do generally top the dps chart during raids, which is notice by the damage I take by certain boss abilities which generally go for the person on top of that chart, and the aggro I obtain when the boss does an aggro wipe.
  2. The boss has a different strat in HM and Normal. In normal you basically really only dps with his debuff and -maybe- one armor. You rotate him through right and center and if your puzzle solvers are quick enough you should be able to solve it in around 10 seconds. Granted, yes 2.2 mil is a dps check.
  3. I agree. It seems the currently difficulty is 8 man normal -> 8 man hard -> 16 man normal. Which to be honest is ridiculous considering you get better loot from 8 man hard. This isn't even considering the amount of bias this game has against melee dps. For example, the annihilation droid on 16 man forces you to rely on primarily ranged dps due to the bosses aoe melee damage, which can quickly overwhelm healers as they are forced you heal too many targets if you are relying primarily on ranged dps. As of right now, the reoccurring theme within the game is that most of the boss fights seem very tuned into a very specifically organized raid, in which any changes scale the difficulty of the instance considerably. Edit: Oh, not to even mention the fact that once we split the 16 man into two 8 mans we were able to clear the instance separately in two hours....
  4. It gets better, I'm a 50 merc and am nearly on the top dps chart every game. While yes you are basically a turret, and have to act as one, you are a force to be reckoned with if you have a healer and decent armor. While tracer missile -> heartseeker - railshot should be your single target burndown, don't be afraid to let fusion missile, explosive dart, and death from above loose on groups of enemies crowded around a single opponent, this is where a vast majority of your damage will come from, and because you are hitting multiple targets for vast amount of damage a single healer can't cope with all of it. While if you get dogpiled, yes you will die, with explosive dart and aoe abilities you can make them pay somewhat for killing you. One of my favorite things to do is to aoe blast them back, shoot explosive dart and then fusion missle. It will take a large chunk of their health as they close back in. So, in summary, yes it does get better as a BH, all lower level classes will get very quickly destroyed until they separate the brackets, as I can basically target a player in their teens and burn down within five seconds of pure damage.
  5. +1 I agree, I wouldn't mind a soft enrage, since that make sense, but to be instantaneously wiped for being ten seconds late is ridiculous.
