  1. They apparently only half-fixed this. From 6.1.2a patch notes (emphasis mine):

So it's only fixed for people who experienced it early on and who already had the skill 601 and above. Those who had it appear later have to wait for the next patch.

But it's not really clear what it means for toons who had their skills below 600. Say, 400/700. It now shows as 400/600, does that mean that would be fixed as well, or buying the unlock would be necesssary from now on?

Here is how I read it: whomever had it past 600, will keep their progress (6xx/700), as long as it was 601 or up.

Anything at 600 or lower will always stay at 600 and will have the 500k Onslaught skill buy mandatory.

Could be wrong, but everything points to this.

  2. Sure but you reap what you sow. We had a smarter crowd before and by dumbing things down you dumb the population down as well. Not because they can't do better but because they don't have a reason to be better.

People used to aspire to something. Now they just want the rewards because they showed up. Why is that? Because that's what companies and society have sown.

My point was about how they lack awareness and any semblance of rational thought. And I don`t think it is because they run Hammer non stop, it is simply because they either don`t care enough, or they just reached their peak.

As for getting better - you either want to, or you don`t. Can`t flog someone for not caring in a casual game. By word of mouth, they run Hammer because they heard about gear, or for pleasure - can`t blame anyone for just playing the game, regardless of their level.

We are in agreement that dumb games make for dumb population, but I highly doubt it is Hammer`s fault for this. Rather it is how the game is made as a whole. Hammer is just more visible because everybody runs it, and decent players are pretty pissed at 'noobs' - not 'newbies', just plain clueless, never learning players. But make no mistake - 'dress`em`ups' are the prevalent population now.

    In my opinion, of course.

  3. There's the problem here, Snowflakes expect EASY......

Today we had one ranged lvl 75, one other sniper that stood on the container and 2 melee, me and someone else. The ranged totally ignored the bactas AND got mouthy also.

They cant even look past their quickbars to click one item next to them, but you want them to do more complicated content? Puhlease.

Not saying all are clueless, but, if we judge by the HS pugs... not much left in terms of player skill in 2020.

  4. When using as one handed weapon:

    5. Using any vendor for 'Repair All', holster vanishes - needs reequip.

    6. Using any vendor to sell things - sometimes holster vanishes - needs reequip.

    7. Holster is not showing in cutscenes.

Now, kindly deposit my hourly fee into the CC linked to this account, since I am doing your job now. Thank you.

  5. I'm guessing it will basically be Battlefront 2's starfighter gameplay with a narrative and some squad mechanics.

I also don't think the success of GSF is all that relevant to a stand-alone game. Back in the day X-Wing/Starfighter was very popular, and space combat seems popular in Battlefront; it's moreso that the audience for SWTOR is not necessarily the same as the audience for a flight/space combat sim, especially not at the point GSF was released, and GSF is not unique enough (nor advertised enough) to make players not already invested in SWTOR to try SWTOR just to access GSF.

The most frequent question I see around GSF is, "What is GSF?"

I think this sums up things pretty well.

One more thing to add: Freelancer is still, in my opinion, the supreme leader of space shooting. I have no expectations from Squadrons past the shiny graphics - lots of 'heroism' and starwaresque approach don`t necessarily make for great gameplay.

  6. 1. The guns are not mirrored for 2 handed use - the color crystal dot is always facing 'left', instead of either be towards 'inside', or 'outside', or both dots be crystal color, instead of one opaque.

    2. Holster is missing in cutscenes.

    3. Offhand holster dissapears when loading new zone (like loading a flashpoint) - need to reequip both guns.

    4. Offhand holster dissapears after using 'Repair All' option with any NPC - need to reequip both guns.

I believe this needs its own topic, as it is a pretty expensive item, on both markets.

  7. @ Tsillah

Well, probably bercause every 'segment' of the population deserves some attention. And since there is now such an ease to get top gear just by running solo stuff, so some players would like a better challenge - it's not like they lacked it for so long, that they actually left for good.

That's my take on it, anyway.

  8. It also has to be remembered that if they hadn't joined up with EA, this game would never have been made. Yes, it was a faustian bargain, but we are where we are. All we can do is hope that EA starts funnelling more money into SWTOR, untieing their hands..

This game was one year in the making already when they were bought. Even then, they kept complete freedom over it, up where they tanked. Only THEN EA stepped in and took matter into their own hands.

I could bring evidence, but a simple google search will bring you all you need. Date of BW Austin being made, site up, announcement, EA buying VG Holding Corp date, Muzyka speaking about freedom, etc.

  9. Could you provide source for those claims? I'm actually curious about it. I certainly don't remember them saying the class stoires would get a continuation in the expansions when I played at launch. Admittedly that's almost 3 years ago, so I probably wouldn't remember even if they did say it.

2 years later, we sure got what he`s talking about, right?

  10. to make a buff or debuff character unique on a mmo platform seem not that easy to do in my opinion or is there abilities that work in the same way for other classes functional? just a question

This is not a buff or debuff, or a plea to change the class. This is a core ability that gives the sage balance it`s DPS target. The more sages / shadows you have in your group / op, the faster the 15 charges get consumed, which is NOT how it should work, as it shouldn`t depend on other classes / players.

SO, is this going to be fixed in 3.0, or will we wait until 4.0, Mr. Watson?
