Saved this from reddit a while back: https://imgur.com/a/qKrjM8H It starts with the more classic Fett look and at the very bottom is one that looks more like the TV series.

This thread has been a very interesting read. Normally when I see someone post this type of thread on a game's forums, it is met largely with white knights defending the game from even legitimate criticism and sometimes people even insulting the OP. But what has been so interesting about this thread is how much agreement I'm seeing about quitting, or general problems with the game.

KOTET is a monumental success !!
The_Grand_Nagus replied to LeGrindMax's topic in General Discussion
Glad you liked them! I haven't played them yet, but I hope I enjoy them as much as you did. That said, whether either of us like them has nothing to do with them being a monumental success. That will be determined by the behind the scenes metrics of how many players they attract and how much money those people spend. -
Interesting theory. So using your logic, do you think that all the other COMPANIES(not individuals) who have posted their condolences all consulted with their legal departments and actually got responses back during the holiday season? Most of them on the very same day the news broke? Because that actually sounds like a pretty unrealistic scenario.

I don't think they actually "need" it, but I think something like this could have happened: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9192547&postcount=6 So in a nutshell, someone might have decided to ask for permission just to be on the safe side, never gotten a response, and therefore never made a comment.

There are 2 separate issues that are not actually the same thing that some people are mistakenly mixing together: 1) some sort of official in game statue or memorial or event for Carrie Fisher 2) expressing condolences on social media I totally agree with your comments regarding them probably needing various permissions do actually put something in game, and the conflict between the game's timeline and the character of leia. On the other hand, some people are just a little "surprised" they have made absolutely no comment on social media, when many other games not even in the Star Wars IP have done so. Those 2 issues are not the same thing, and should not be conflated together.

What do you mean by "so important"? Does asking the question (of why they haven't said anything) = "so important"? If so, let's use your own logic. Why is it "so important" to YOU to know why it's "so important" to other people? Or is it possible that people asking questions out of curiosity without something having to be "so important"?

After a bit of thought, I think there is only one realistic reason why there has been no comment: When the news first broke, someone in the Bioware/EA PR department probably sent an email to their contact at Disney asking if it is OK for them to post their condolences. While this "step" may not have been technically required, the person was probably just playing it safe by asking permission to make a statement. Due to the holidays, whoever the Disney contact person was is probably out of the office and isn't replying to emails. So since the Bioware/EA PR person never got permission, no comment was ever made. I know that sounds kind of silly, but that is literally the only realistic reason I can think of.

I don't necessarily disagree with what you are saying, but it has nothing to do with the actual point of the post you quoted/replied to: The poster above did not say there should be an in game memorial. They simply pointed out that STO's twitter made a nice post to pay respects, while TOR's twitter has not even acknowledged her passing. All that stuff you said about in game statues and count dooku has nothing to do with that unfortunate fact.

Hi all. I do not visit the forums very often, but I was curious if the devs were planning to do anything in her memory. I checked the dev tracker, but I don't see any posts. And while the social media outlets seem to be active (both twitter and facebook) I don't see any comment even acknowledging her passing. Have I missed something?

Neither do you, and this thread is proof. Otherwise, you would have just "been patient" with all the people complaining and not posted a thread like this.

"A way higher rate" of what, exactly? Your statement is somewhat vague, so I want to make sure I actually understand what you mean before I reply.

"If you don't like it, leave" = bad for the game
The_Grand_Nagus replied to The_Grand_Nagus's topic in General Discussion
Yes yes, but how do you really feel? -
Forum polls are meaningless for 2 reasons: 1) the people who actually use the forums are only a small minority of the total playerbase, and therefore do not accurately reflect the playerbase as a whole. 2) people are more likely to be vocal when they are unhappy, meaning the people who are being vocal on the forums are disproportionately unhappy compared to the people who do not post on the forums. All of that said, I repeat my previous point: society as a whole and human nature show that people in general prefer easy to hard. So I don't need a poll to tell me what is already obvious.

Completely different issue. Your point is "vote with your dollar", and I agree. If someone it not satisfied with what they are paying for, they should not pay for it. However, that is not the same thing as someone being unhappy with X change, complaining about it, then being told to leave. Not being happy with X feature is not the same thing as not being happy with the product as a whole. Life it not black and white. -

If someone is breaking the forums rules, then they should have the appropriate action taken against them. That is NOT what I am talking about. -

Options are nice, but that actually has nothing to do with my point. I simply used the companion issue as an example, but it could be anything. Regardless of why you disagree with someone, you shouldn't want them to stop playing. You should want their money funding the game.
