Condemned has a full video of the hardmode kill of Kephess 16man available on their website.
-
I'd be more than happy to assist you with some of the basics and more advanced techniques of Gunslingers in PVP. Feel free to log onto Port Nowhere (US-EST) and send Falkenburg a whisper.
-
Good initiative, however I feel at this point in time, without timestamps on the achievements in game, this can easily be forged.
The first tier doesn't mean much, hence why I never really posted every single kill and date for my guild (finished 16 man around the 14th feb iirc), I slacked a lot on posting and recording kill vids/screenshots(hell, I didnt post some hardmode vids until late feb) purely because the first tier in any MMO never means anything. Tier 2 will be more interesting in terms of where everyone stands and I fully expect that to be more documented/tracked better etc
Congratulations on your kill. That said, there have been plenty of games without in-game achievements (including That Other Big MMO for vanilla and its first expansion) where the community created ranked progression lists.
Its the responsibility of guild leaders to take screenshots or videos of their kills and post or announce them to be included in a system like this - we recommend using Twitter, since that will automatically time-stamp the kill.
Arguments from those who didn't take the necessary steps to ensure that the community was aware of their kills simply don't hold water - the only thing that the current lack of an achievement system indicates is that the onus of responsibility is on the community, rather than the game engine.
Frankly, any guild that is serious about obtaining world rank for progression operations content, is going to be taking these steps.
-
Good luck with your operations.
That said, <Condemned> is recognized by the community as currently having the top world rank in terms of PVE progression for the 1.0 and 1.1 content.

Just curious, how do you know you got world first with no ranking system?

Keep in mind that the bosses added in 1.1 are of the same 'tier' as those in Eternity Vault - meaning that their health and damage output is similar to the bosses we've already seen. My guess is it would have been a greater challenge due to gear disparity if this were tier 2 content, rather than tier 1B.
As it stands, we were already fairly well geared from EV clears in the weeks prior to 1.1.
-
You can do all difficulty levels as either an 8 man or 16 man raid. That said, as a guild that's done both 8 and 16, 16 man Nightmare content is the most challenging in the game.
-
That being said, well done to Condemned on a world first clear (assuming that it is).
Thanks very much!
-
So you're 3/5 hard, and 0/5 Nightmare for Karagga's Palace? Got it. We'll be more than happy to engage in a productive discussion with you regarding the challenge level of 16 man, Nightmare operations - including the vast difficulty nerf of Soa from 1.1 to 1.0 - once you and your guild have experienced and cleared it.
Good luck next Tuesday!
-
Same thing goes with EV, only reason guilds coulnd't kill was because of over-tuning.
No one cares for easy content
Paradox?
progression won't matter till Bioware gives us encounters that requires hundreds of attempts (or close to it) like Blizzard did with WoW plenty of times.
<Condemned> put in 100+ attempts on Soa Hard Mode before we finally got it, which was before the 1.1 nerf/re-tuning.
Irregardless, there are two guilds that have cleared 10/10 Nightmare bosses: <Condemned> and <Millenium>. Unless you're a member of either of those guilds, it doesn't seem to be a worthy argument to be calling the content easy.
-
Milennium are good people.
Grats on their kill!
-
Grats Milennium - welcome to the 10/10 Nightmare club. Population: 32.
-
Yeah we had it happen on our anni kill and people all called us out on it. I wasnt calling you out on not nightmare, I was more suggesting that 8man could be bugged lol.
One other thing, Soa loot.. we decided last night to hold off until they hot fix it since we want rakata chests. You guys only got mounts right?
Correct.

I have never noticed it on target, only on the mouseover text that pops up. But i'll tkae your word for it.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but you won't need to - we've got FRAPS'd footage of all our nightmare fights. We're simply holding them back for now until other guilds have cleared the content and we've gone through another operation reset window.
That's the only way to be fair to the other guilds who are currently problem solving and attempting to progress.
-
For some reason, when the bosses turn into corpses their HP drops - kind of a weird bug.
-
What is this? Since when is easy content considered part of the race for firsts? WTB REAL HARD MODES, so that progression ACTUALLY matters.
How's your own 16 man nightmare progression going?
-
Congratulations on the kills, but holy crap.. did you guys really raid from 5pm to almost 4 AM.. when you know theres no other competition even close for 16 nightmare?
the fights were fun in 8man, rather enjoyable actually needing to use my tank CDs for once.
There's a couple of European guilds - namely Milennium - that give us a good run for our money.
-
Well, we are around 16.5-18k
around that area with most of us being 17k+
but the ability seems to hit twice once for 10k followed by a 13k hit.
Edit: we only got 1 gunslinger for the 20% dmg reduction shield... maybe that has something to do with our surviability ;p
For what its worth, we only had 1 GS in raid as well. I'm sure you guys will get it soon - all about the execution!
-
We cleared Karagga already (Condemned, that is - we're 10/10 Nightmare for EV and KP. Milenium I believe is still working on it.)
As far as 16 man goes, what's the health of your DPS/healers? After we were aware of the mechanic, we didn't really have a major issue with it.
-
Hey Ginzu:
We have a policy of not revealing strategies until the reset following a clear, in order to allow other guilds to puzzle solve on their own.
That said, I think we can let you know that we simply powered through this mechanic, rather than 'worked around' it.
-
The worst by far is when the final boss bugs, forcing you to redo the trash between boss 4 and boss 5.
Happened to us about 2 attempts before we downed him after a 8% wipe, and I honestly thought a few of our members were going to jump out their respective windows.

Rail shot hits the target furthest away from the droid adds (or it may be the target closer to the walker, we're not quite sure - but its essentially the same thing.)
By positioning your tank furthest away, s/he will soak the rail shots, ensuring that folks aren't one-shot by it.
Good luck - once you get that phase down, you'll be close to entering the actual Kephess phase of the fight which, in our opinion, was the much harder phase.
