Hand and the Alliance

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed that Rivix and other imps just don't care if you chose Alliance independence and they still call the Alliance the Hand of the Empire? I can understand why they act like Odessen and Commander are part of the Empire and treat Commander like their servant, but did they (or devs) just forgot that we had a chance to NOT become a Hand?

So in short:

Spoiler

You ally with the Empire again either way.  That's the point of Onslaught.  You can no longer remain neutral and need to side with your original faction or become a saboteur for the other side.  The final decision for both sides is either becomes this agency or working with them.  So imp side you either choose to BE the Hand of the Empire, or be an ally to the Empire working directly with the Hand of the Empire as Acina puts it.

The dialogue changes a few things if you stay independent.  Some story beats you can refuse Rivix or for example: Restrict imperial movement on Odessen since you are an ally not of the Empire and therefore under the rule of the Empress.

If you are still an independant ally (like my main is) it makes sense that work with the Hand, you'd still want to assist the Empire since they can turn on you and the Pubs won't side with you but join in.  Also anything that affects the Empire effects you and vice versa because you are both aiming to either destroy the republic or at least win the war thats brewed,

TLDR: independent Alliance = ally of the empire working with the Hand.  Other option you become the Hand.

Does that make sense?
