Best second combat style to compliment my Agent Sniper?

I'm currently running a Chiss Sniper in the Agent storyline, and have been playing him as a James Bond-esque, charming but cold-blooded agent. I think there are some cases in the story where the agent is revealing himself anyway, and the nerfing of the Operative plays a big factor in what class not to choose.

 

This leaves subclasses like Scoundrel or Vanguard as the ideal choice. I would add mercenary to the list, but that style looks like it's made for someone rocking heavy armor and machinery all over them.

Scoundrel is exactly the same as Operative, so your logic is a little flawed. Op also is not particuarly weak at the moment. Maybe not the strongest, but adequate for anything you're likely to be doing, and it's a great healer class.

I'd also say that Vanguard is just as armoured as Merc.

 

My recommendation is either Operative or Vanguard.

To expand on this a bit, I'm currently running an Op and it's just fine for solo content. Stealth is absolutely great for speeding through missions, and is an ability not to be overlooked.
