Loading the game minimized resulted in a big pink box and could not select character

I loaded the game minimized while looking at websites. When I shifted focus back to the game, there was a big pink box where my character should have been and no character selection menu was present.

 

I did not get a screenshot of the issue though.

 

On another occasion the game seemed stuck on the main loading splash page.

 

Once I loaded the game while in focus it loaded correctly and was able to see/login into my PTS character.

I've had this happen while using the Steam version of the PTS.

 

Go to the Steam page and click on the wheel, then verify local files. This is what fixed it for me.
