I'm at work so can't check but try either in your settings or in your interface editor. Note that if you do disable tooltips it will probably do it for everything including abilities, enemies, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mine was at the bottom of the screen towards the middle and to the right. Click on it, then look at the Interface Editor for the Large Tooltip box and uncheck Enabled. Poof!
