Possibly for all advance class abilities to work on all targets and bosses.

Some targets like bosses want get effected by force push and force choke. Some advance class abilities don't work but if it does and chances a player advance class to stay a live. No one is invincible and thinking we have a game like star wars diversity with a feel like cannon. Strong advance class and strong companions with modify bonus status. Since the game got 3 difficult level like story, veteran and master. Bring it on!

The abilities that don't work are the pushes, pulls, and stuns, and bosses *should* be tougher than ordinary enemies. Abilities that are merely variations of "shoot with gun", "hit with glowstick" or "throw lightning or rocks" *do* work pretty consistently.

 

At least this isn't the Living World seasons of Guild Wars 2, where there are enemies that cannot be harmed by *any* of your abilities unless you do *this* handwaving fight-mechanics thing.
