The "scratchy" look (like a certain TFA/TLJ brat uses) would be, if you want side-vents(1), e.g. Dark Honor Guard (diagonal vents). The new preview window shows this stuff well. (So did the old one, for that matter.) (1) People keep calling them "cross guards", which merely shows that very few people know what cross guards are for on a real sword. The guard on a sword, no matter what its shape (cross as on European straight swords, round disk as on katanas, basket hilt as on rapiers, etc.) is there to keep your hand from straying onto the blade.
