As far as I know, the fastest (reliable, permitted-by-the-EULA) way to get credits is to run Heroic missions. 2. Apart from the one MK-1 Universal that you get for the stronghold mission from the holostatue, and a few others sprinkled around in similar rewards (perhaps, maybe), the only way to get more is to craft them or possibly to buy them on the GTN. 3. The fastest way to level up Artifice is to make Bonded Attachments (or whatever they are called, the basic components that you use to craft actual gear). Send out your companions to make them and send them out again as soon as they get back. I will leave acquiring the materials as an exercise for the reader.
