MrNihulus
The main problem with cartel packs is that they are very RNG based and can encourage real-life gambling. The rarity on most items can also create massive inflation on the GTN especially if they are from packs that are no longer available. A better solution would be to introduce a bunch of Cartel Items on direct sale every week. There will still be some inflation but it won't be as bad since they were in direct sale. Another idea would be to add a disclaimer before buying packs, something along the lines of "please purchase responsibly" Since gambling is an unhealthy practice, it would be good to add a warning so players are aware. Dmnqwk
It's not gambling because there is no way to win. I have to disagree regarding the "Please gamble responsibly" issue because it's no different than, say, a Magic: The Gathering Booster Pack. You cannot "win" in these because you've lost your money, the only thing that directly changes is how happy you are with the random items you receive. Gambling, while unlikely to see you win, can earn you a profit. These turn real money into in-game items.
