Are you doing KotFE side missions with black bars on top and bottom of the screen and more than 3 conversation options? Then it's by design that you have no voice. BW wanted to bring back that old KOTOR feeling (or maybe just save the costs for recording the same lines with 16 different voice actors?)

People keep saying this about recording costs, except that it *isn't* true. The actors were in the studio anyway to record the main story lines, so the extra cost of recording a few lines per actor for the recruitment missions is more or less noise on the balance sheet. No, the big thing about these menus is that they allow more than three choices. Qyzen Fess is the worst offender, as some of his menus have 17 choices. Try doing that on a classic dialogue wheel. Mubrak
There is no reason the player lines couldn't be voiced when using these menus. Stop defending bioware Seriously, not having VO in those conversations saves the working hours required to implement player voice in the KOTOR style menu as well as the costs for recording the extra lines. In SoR they implenented unimportant quest conversations as a mission box accompanied by one or two lines of VO when you talk to the NPC. In KotFE they did the same for a somewhat more important conversations with more NPC text but mute player lines. When we silently accept this as a reminiscence to KOTOR, then the next time they will go back to Baldur's Gate style conversations, where NPCs had one spoken line and the rest was text only. I don't need full VO. But when a game that has full VO everywhere else, those "classic" conversations feel like a mediocre mod.
