I have Activate Random Mount keybound and have had it as the same key/same slot since 3.0. Except when I went to mount up, there was nothing in that slot. I went to my Abilities tab to reload it and it's not there, either. And Activate Random Pet is not there, either. I can put a single mount there and it works just fine.
