BlazeTomahawk
I just got a new computer and went to dl the game and I've been stuck at "the launcher is being updated. Please wait..." for about 4 hours now. Is there a better way to get this done?
OwenBrooks
Initially try the launcher repair utility at this link Ensure launcher.exe and swtor.exe are in all the exception lists for the antivirus and firewall if it persists best to make a new post at EA Answers HQ at this link

Now I get random disconnects after playing about 5 minutes. My internet is five, because I've tried LOTRO immediately after and it ran for an hour or more before I quit to come back to swtor. Again, kicked off the server after about 3 minutes. Tried a Different server, same issue

OwenBrooks
Need to test outwards If currently playing wireless , connect wired and see if it persists Can also grab http://www.pingplotter.com and set it to the modem initially (usually something like 192.168.1.1) to graph the internal network when playing and can look for any change when the DC occurs and then can start to test outwards toward the servers.
