No cut scenes working for KOTIE

I have tried starting "Chapter 1 The Hunt" and none of the cutscenes are working, they start then they go straight to a black screen, I waited over 10 mins every time for them to load and it freezes up my whole laptop to the point that I cant even shut the game down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Serious note: You might be missing some files. Did you reboot the launcher after patching? I always do this now. Reboot comp?

A few things to try:

 

Exit completely out of the game, and delete your DiskCacheArena file. This takes just seconds, so try it first.

 

Right-click the SWTOR icon on your desktop, and select "Open file location".

Open the swtor folder.

Delete the file.

 

If that doesn't help, try running a repair. This could take from 5 to 20 mins.

 

 

Start the Luancher and log in, but do not click Play.

 

If you have the letters "ST" at the bottom left of the launcher, you have the "streaming launcher.

Exit the launcher.

Right click the SWTOR icon on your desktop and select "Open file location".

Delete the Bitraider folder.

Restart the launcher, and it will initiate the repair process.

 

If you do not see the letters "ST", you have the non-streaming launcher.

Click the drop menu beside your Display name at the top right of the launcher.

Click on Settings.

Click the Repair button, and let it do its thing.

 

 

If that doesn't help either, try turning all your graphics to lowest settings before starting the cutscene. This is also relatively quick, but an annoyance to undo and redo your settings, especially if you have customized them, rather than using presets.
