I removed the hilt, enhancement, mod and augment from my dual saber to insert them into the Odessen dual saber. I was able to remove them just fine, however, as I was placing them into the Odessen saber, they just disappeared with no visible change to the Odessen saber and then when I clicked on my previous dual saber to confirm I had removed them, it just disappeared from my inventory, so now I have lost my dual saber, my 224 hilt, enh and mod and my 208 augment.
