camzoner
Think about this for a moment: the typical cost of a piece of gear from a crystals vendor is 120 (some as low as 80 some as high as 150 but most are 120). if you buy a piece of gear from the crystals vendor you will get about 15k gold for selling it outright. That's roughly 125 credits per crystal. Yes, there is the gifts and exotic materials from vendors for crystals. But the market for exotic materials is drying up fast because we expect new exotic materials with the new expansion (not known but probable), so that leaves common crystals for gifts. Any smart player (I know that they can be few and far between), would have heard of this conversion and stopped buying gifts off the GTN and just wait for the vendors to accept credits. It wouldn't make any sense to sell gifts for credits. It would ruin crewskill that get them. That would be like selling the top crewskill mats for credits. May as well delete all crewskill missions that get gifts in that scenario. Smart idea would be put them randomly into those command crates as rare item. But in practice, we have a rather unusual situation in 4.0 where Bioware expanded the "influence cap" to 250,000 points. Requiring a really large number of gifts. Plus, there hasn't been a significant credit sink in the game in a while. So if they did decide to sell grade 6 legendary companion gifts for credits, it could be a good thing. Better be 300k each or so, otherwise delete crewskills that gather gifts.
Wahala
I wonder if activities (like heroics that give you 5 green crystals) are going to give you 2500 more credits when crystals are gone ..... probably not huh

DarthJimilingus
Probably not. I would imagine they would do something with that. Can't just leave it. No one would do heroics again.
