try a game repair , most will have the streaming launcher

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner.

If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pulldown on the top right and select settings, then press repair.

Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut,

select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher

That seemed to work. Belsavis is a little less pretty now, but not significantly so, I suppose, and it's not getting the Death Star treatment every 5-10 minutes.

Nvidia SLI with Windows 10 ? this was an issue that appeared a while back but it isnt normally commented on now so figured it was fixed , see the known issues sticky about nvidia and windows 10 - http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/INFO-Known-Issues-and-Current-Alerts-22-Sep-16/m-p/4886775#U4886775

I have a pre-built machine so I'm not entirely sure if I'm running SLI, but I've got the other 2/3, so that looks pretty possible. I'm pretty fine with no grass for now, but it's good to see there's another workaround in case I want it back. Thanks.

I had it with non-SLI NVidia. But with Windows 10.

Please PM RayW over at Nvidia - https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/895902/geforce-drivers/blue-screen-dxgmms2-sys/post/4961989/#4961989

The grass to 0 issue is related to the issue mentioned in that thread.

Dear God, that was months ago. I've updated Windows for sure since then and possibly the NVidia drivers. I'll have to see what the latest latest ones do before I do that.
