Subscriber tenure discount

Recommended Posts

I think there should be two new types of discounts which could help incentivize more people to subscribe.

1. Subscriber tenure discount - Basically, this is a discount that your account earns as you stay subscribed over the course of a year. If you've had over a year of subscription time, then you get an X% discount off the CM. And every year after that you stay subscribed, that discount grows by an incremental amount.

Note, that this subscription time isn't consecutive. It's merely a metric of all the days your account has been subscribed. Even if you were subbed for a few months, took a couple months off, then resubbed, the metric counts the amount of days you were subscribed for, and when that amount totals over a year, you are granted the discount.

Also, note, that the discount, obviously, only stays in effect if you ARE subbed. You don't need consecutive days of sub time to EARN it, but you DO need to be subbed to USE it.

2. Consecutive subscription discount - This is a discount to the CM that grows to a specific amount. So subscribe for one month, you get your basic subscriber discount. Stay subscribed for another month, and that discount grows by a couple %. Continue to stay subbed and it will continue to grow until it reaches it's maximum amount.

If you ever drop your sub, you lose the discount. Even if you resub, you need to earn it back by staying subbed consecutively for a few months again.

Note, there should be a grace period after you lose your subscription for you to be able to resubscribe without losing this discount. Perhaps 7-10 days.
