Their isolation for one means they're not going to challenge whoever tries to rule the galaxy this week. But surely someone who wants to rule everything would also want to rule the Gree, and attempts have been made? So their worlds are either totally unknown or incredibly hard to reach, or both. Gree technology is also both very advanced and different from the technology lines common in the galaxy. Better take care of the enemies you know first, especially seeing the Gree keep to themself. They're probably too few to put up a fight against someone throwing a galaxy-conquering force at them but why chance that as long as there's more immediate threats to handle?
