I realize Pong Krell was leaving the Republic due to a vision of Order 66 but his personality was the same when he was still loyal to them which was indicated by the discussion of his record, how he was always successful in battle but had the highest casualties. Dark Disciple is a fairly well written novel but its contents are absolute heresy. Kyle Katarn and Jaden Korr pull many of their abilities from the dark side. Mace Windu walks a thin line between light and dark. Qui-Gon Jinn had a brief flirtation with the dark side but stayed within the Order. He of course turned back to the light.
