Ultisaurus Posted October 4, 2015 Share Posted October 4, 2015 On one of the KotFE streams, Eric Musco mentioned a theory about the main hero of SWTOR being T7-01, so how about we make this a reality? I am suggesting the Astromech transformation toy, a consumable that lasts 30 minutes. It can be bought from either the Cartel market or a new Cartel market rep vendor on the fleet. The consumable, on use, transforms the user's character model into an Astromech, and it's skin and colours vary based on class. (Suggestions for what they could be are welcome). As well as changing the character model it would also edit the user's abilities and hotbar while active, as well as their energy type. The energy type the droid form would use is called "Power". The power bar starts empty, and like heat, when you use abilites that build Power the bar fills up. However, once the bar reaches half way, you reach "Overload" state, at which point the bar becomes broken up like that of a Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior. It takes a bit more Power to build up one block, but when you do, you start to take periodic electrical damage, and each block you build after that adds to the damage you take. Not using abilities causes the blocks and bar to recede back to zero., however, this can also be achieved by using "Core ventilation" and "Electrical Zap". In Overload state, the maximum of blocks you can generate is six. These abilities would be something like this: Electrical zap Instant No cooldown 10m range Fires a low damage electrical blast at the target, dealing electrical damage over time and ventilating your power. In the Overload state, each use of Electrical zap ventilates half of a Power block and in the normal state it ventilates a small portion of power. Oil slick 3 seconds channeled 15 second cooldown 20m range Creates a slick of oil on a chosen area, making enemies in that area take more damage from burning as well as making them more likely to miss ranged and melee attacks. This attack builds a small amount of power and half of a block in Overload state. Hover Lasts 5 seconds 25 second cooldown Ignites your mounted boosters, allowing you to hover, increasing movement speed by 100% as well as increasing your dodge chance by 50%. If used over an Oil slick it will ignite it, dealing a small amount of burn damage. Builds a medium amount of power and half a block in Overload state. Welder Instant 15 second cooldown 5m range Activates your welding torch, dealing a small portion of damage as well as reducing the target's movement speed by 50%. Builds a small portion of the Power bar and half a block in Overload state. Overclock Instant 45 second cooldown 20m range Fires an electrical jolt at the weapons of the 4 nearest members of your group, making them deal electrical damage as well as granting them extra energy over the course of 8 seconds. Builds a medium portion of Power and a full block in Overload state. Core Ventilate Instant 50 second cooldown Ventilates a high amount of your power bar/3 blocks in Overload state over the duration of 3 seconds. Droid dash Diverts power to your forward shields and movement systems, causing you to stand on the spot as you rev your rear wheel, before charging at the target, dealing high damage and knocking them down. This attack fills a high amount of your power bar and a full overload block. Signal beacon 5 seconds channeled 2 minute cooldown Attacks all enemies in a 10m range infront of the user and those 5m behind them Deploys your signal beacon and hunkering down for maximum protection, stopping you from moving as you call in hailstorm of laser around you, which overwhelms and knocks down weak and standard enemies, as well as dealing very high damage. This attack builds a quarter of the first half of the Power bar, and if used in Overload state it builds 2 blocks. Calls in a Striker starfighter squadron if you are a Republic droid, and if you are an Empire player you summon a squadron of Mark VI fighters. This attack does not use explosives, instead a large amount of laser fire. Haywire Channeled 5 seconds Cooldown 1 and half minutes 10m range Activates all of your weapons, causing all enemies in a 10m range around you to be burnt, electrocuted, blown up, knocked down and shot, dealing very high damage to the enemies. This attack builds 2 Overload blocks and a quarter of your normal Power bar. (This attack would also play the R2-D2 scream) Self-repairs Instant 20 second cooldown Runs your self-repair systems, healing yourself for a moderate portion of your health for over 8 seconds. This builds a medium amount of your Power and half of a block. Reconstruct 15 seconds channeled No cooldown You explode, destroying your right leg and crippling your systems. However, your repair systems activate and using your tools you repair and re-attach your damaged leg as well as fixing your systems and ventilating your power. (This the equivalent to all of the classes' self-healing ability) Revert to normal Instant Reverts from your droid form back to your normal state. The animation of this is your droid recieving a holocall from your normal character model at full size. Shortly after the droid explodes and the smoke clears, you have returned to your normal character model and abilites.
