Slowpokeking
Almost all the villains in Star Wars movies were played by British actors. In SWTOR, most of the Imperials have British accent.
Darth-Rammstein
To be fair a bunch of the good guys were also played by British actors. But yeah, even in films the bad guys are always played by English actors. Edited August 30, 2015 by Darth-Rammstein
Cordarn
Think of the Galactic Civil War as a galactic scale War of Independence between the British and the Colonist (Americans.)

CharagonIGN
But later villains were also played by Brits, like Palpatine, Maul and Dooku. At that point it's just keeping with tradition.
Shayddow
I believe I read somewhere that Lucas based much of the lore behind the Imperials on both the historical Nazi regime and the British Empire in its hayday. I find it interesting to compare some of the "evils" done by fictional corporations such as Czerka to the British East India Company as well. There are parallels to many historical lines in both science fiction and fantasy - its part of the genre. I enjoy hearing it spoken though. I find it interesting that the Engineers are invariable Scots though. From Scotty in Star Trek to the questgiver in the Trakken-4 Imperial Balmorran outposts. :-)
Ghenghis-Khan
Its cause brits are the lost tribe of the sith. This explains it all. That space ship that crashed landed during the great hyperspace war on that one planet was actually England, they just mispronounced it.
