realleaftea
I always felt Commandos should use rifles and VGs should have assault cannons. How so? Is it because of the names used? Vanguards are typically more the frontline fighters. My preferred version would have been: Weapon Specialists // Powertechs: Gunnery: Assault Cannon; focus on Hail of Bolts & Full Auto (see previous posts) Ordnance: Shoulder Cannon and/or Rocket Launcher; focus on Explosive Round & Mortar Volley Plasmatech: Flamethrower and Shield Discharge; focus on Flame Burst, Flame Sweep & Flamethrower Tactical Specialists (Commandos) // Mercenaries Leadership: Blaster Rifle with stun mode & ion shots; focus on main tank role Tactical: Blaster Rifle, Grenades & Explosives; focus on positioning & battlefield control Combat Medic: Blaster Rifle with Medshot; focus on support role This way, you wouldn't really separate these classes by range, but by their combat specialization (and weaponry). Mercenaries would be the class specialization with a different focus depending on the current job or contract: Either as a bodyguard (medic), as a saboteur (tactical) or for a real man-hunt (leadership). The three different Powertech subtypes then include all the gimmicks Boba Fett used in the movies. It's just a matter what a player prefers the most. Either stuff your battle armor with a lot of darts & rockets, redirect your jet pack to work as a flamethrower and/or focus on dual blasters. And yes, this change also includes the necessity to reallocate the remaining abilities (i.e. heals, pushbacks, etc.) as well Edited October 19, 2015 by realleaftea
