HK units and Story-line inconsistency

Somewhere we are told:

HK-51 was built by the Czerka Corporation during the Great Galactic War. At some time, a large shipment of HK droids was presumably purchased by the Empire, and loaded onto the cruiser Fatality. This ship was eventually shot down over the Republic Prison Planet of Belsavis. The HK units were shut down, and the ship remained there until the next war, where it was discovered by both Republic & Empire forces deep below the surface of Belsavis

 

So we are led to believe the use of these droids fell into disuse.

 

But.... playing through the planets again on an alt, <imperial side>, I encountered HK units " called "guerilla hunter-killer droids" on Alderaan - specifically the "multiple fronts" mission.

 

Certain conversation options when you get the quest on Belsavis presumes you have never encountered HK units before - yet you have, on Alderaan <at least if you are Imperial>. <and again, you encounter HK-47 in the Foundry flashpoint>.

 

Shouldn't we be able to say, yes, this is a different model, but we Have encountered these things before?

There's "disuse" and then there's not being used at all. Alderaanian nobles having some lying around in their compounds is plausible. They're rich, they're not very nice, they're fighting a civil war and have all sorts of standing militias to begin with. Hell, House Rist is predominantly known for being an assassin guild.
