vizionblind
if you have any web pages open in the background? close them all. I have a very high end PC and noticed if I had a web page open (chrome) my FPS would drop to the 20s. After closing the pages (each time), my FPS shot back to the 60s-80s
mikules
Uh, most people should know by now that Chrome uses the video cards resources. That said, most know to NOT leave Chrome open in the background while gaming.
Fastor
This can be explained by Flash. If you have a Flash control open, it will lock the video card in at low clock speeds because the latest version of Flash is hardware accelerated. LundraS
I solved my Framerate dips by opening Windows Media Player and minimizing it before launching the game. This also improved things for me on WoW/RIFT. It helps stop memory leaks occurring apparently. Edited December 26, 2011 by LundraS
