Kaggath Battlegrounds Final: Republic Resistance vs Imperial Droid Division

One thing that should be noted Sil, is that the Inquisitorius don't know where Republic Intelligence is headquarted, so they will have to determine its location first before they are able to attack.

Except Beni... They DO know where the RI is as well as all of their defensive details. Here is a quote.

Eliminating Republic Intelligence

- Inquisitorious has 2 main bases, 1 on Prakith and 1 on Coruscant

- Inquisitorious knows all about RI due to timeline (such as HQ and defenses)

- RI lacks counters to Inquisitors

- Unlikely that the RI knows that the Inquisitorious is coming

-- Backup: if Coruscant Inquisitorious HQ somehow is nullified, Prakith sends a force instead

-- More travel time, but still an early strike that RI can not counter

-- As Imperial operatives, they are quite capable of bypassing the planetary shield

+ Result: RI eliminated or damaged beyond recovery

Good things to know about the Inquisitorious in regards to the RI

- Founded as a branch of II

- II was RI

- Inquisitorious has been around since Order 66 essentially

- They used the SAME FACILITIES for a time (before their seperate HQ's were ready)

- Inquisitors know the layout of the RI HQ because that used to be a base they used in conjunction with II

To summarize into a single bullet

- The Inquisitorious has been to, operated from, and worked in the II's HQ, which was the RI's HQ

Do you have sources for that? I can't even find a source for where Republic Intelligence were located. Information on the Inquisitorius seems equally scant, so I assume your source is not the Wookiee.

Things that we know to be 100% fact

- RI transformed into the II with the declaration of the Galactic Empire

- II and RI, during the early Galactic Empire at least, had the same HQ

- Inquisitorious was founded basically at/during/soon after Order 66

- Inquisitorious was a secret branch of II

- II and Inquisitorious had the same HQ until later on

- Relation between II and Inquisitorious remained quite good even later down the line when they were quite separate

- Inquisitorious knows that the II used to be RI

- Later on, Inquisitorious got a separate HQ on Coruscant, as well as Prakith

- Jedi turned during Order 66 were placed in the Inquisitorious

So, to go through the likely logic that the Inquisitorious would have

- They are facing a faction called 'Republic Resistance'

- They would search their databanks for related facilities

- RI would pop up and details about it transforming into II

- Inquisitors themselves would remember their time spent there (the few that were present at the time)

- Further digging would confirm their suspicions

- Send an agent to confirm target

- Send in force of Inquisitors to clear it out

This is all a long winded way of saying,

"The Imperial Intelligence that the Inquisitorious was part of was formerly the Republic Intelligence, and due to how quick the change to the Galactic Empire was, there would be records of the original base, if they switched at all. The Inquisitorious was also present at such a time and so would have it within their individual databanks. In short, they have literally been inside the RI HQ before and know all about it due to their time working with II."

*Speculation. :jawa_wink:

I did some digging of my own, these are the only facts I found:

  1. The Inquisitorius was intially based in the Jedi Temple.

  2. Imperial Intelligence HQ (under Armand Isard) was located in the Imperial Palace.

So the Inquisitorius have likely never visited any buildings Republic Intelligence operated out of. Imperial Intelligence would no doubt have information on former headquarters, but that doesn't make the Inquisitorius privy to this intel.

Except to assume that Inquisitors never visited the Imperial Palace, if that is indeed the place, would be folly. Heck, part of the requirements to enter the Inquisitorious is to be tested by Palpatine who lived in the Imperial palace when he was on Coruscant. Yes, I know he had his retreat on Byss... But where is the RI HQ then, eh? If they were also within the palace...

There really is no reason that the Inquisitorius shouldn't know where the II was based, and if there is no location listed for RI, then it is only logical to assume that they were in the same location. Heck, even if we can't tell due to missing text, to say that the II doesn't know where the RI was located is incorrect since they used to be them, and the II shared quite a bit of its data with the Inquisitorius...

Even if, by some miracle, the Inquisitorius forgot where its mother organization was previously based, it wouldn't take them terribly long to find it given their skills.

Side Note: This is reinforced by the fact that the leader of the RI and early II were one and the same.

After Thought: On the Imperial Intelligence wiki page the Inquisitoius is specifically listed as a secret division of the II, which matches up with other data we have on the Inquisitorius. In short, that means they would have access to the records.

Update: If absolutely nothing else, the Inquisitorius was literally THERE and in the loop when the II transformed from the RI. As a sub-division of the organization, they would know its previous base. (I mean, old bases are not exactly top secret most of the time... We see this throughout the mythos)

The Presidential/Imperial Palace served a totally different purpose during the Republic era however, it served the residence of the Chancellor and as offices for members of the Senate, not Intelligence agencies as far as we are aware. Palpatine didn't even use it during his Chancellorship.

However as soon as he became Emperor the palace underwent massive refurbishment, presumably to accommodate for both himself and those who served under him, including I.I. Thee purpose of this building drastically changed in importance and we therefore cannot assume it served as Republic Intelligence HQ.

And as I said in my edit, the I.I would definitely possess intel on the R.I. But we can't on that basis assume that the Inquisitorius possess this intel merely by association. On that basis we could justify the Inquisitorius knowing anything and everything the I.I. possesses. Unless there is stated proof that Inquisitiorius is privy to any one piece of intel Imperial Intelligence has, we can't assume they have it. So no, they do not have the those records.

I am sure someone else could answer this better, but the Inquisitorius has as much reason to know about the RI HQ as Sunrider does knowing about Jerec being a force user.

We both have made deductions, but the issue being, that they conflict.

Yours:

- We don't know where the RI HQ is, but since the II is in the Palace, the Inquisitorius has no clue where the RI HQ is.

Mine:

- The Inquisitorius knows of the II's past and thus know where the RI HQ is, and they are a part of II.

Issue:

- We have no freaking clue where the RI HQ is, so you assume that it can not be known. I argue that the Inquisitorius would know because THEY WERE AROUND BEFORE the II got relocated. Correct me if I am wrong, but one does not move into their new base while renovations are being done, which even then happened after the Inquisitorius was founded. Yet you argue that the Inquisitorius does not know, because... why? They were literally part of the II before the HQ was changed.

Reason for Sunrider knowing Jerec is a force user

- Windu said it, without using spoiler tags. :p For a long time he did make others think he was a not a force user.

How this relates to the RI HQ

- Windu told Sunrider, much like the Inquisitorius knows from II.

Yeah... none.

Issue with that line of reasoning is that Imperial Intelligence were an amalgamated from various difference agencies, not just Republic Intelligence, so realistically they could have been head-quarted just about anywhere.

Alrighty something else from Lady:

Silenceo is ignoring that the RR has experience with stealth ships and has already claimed CGTs, they will know that the Imperious was sabotaged and with the CGTs available, can discover the IG-2000, trap it and destroy it.

It's very simple, activate tech they already have and it's game over for IG-88.

The debate continues, however I would add that IG-88 could alternatively and much more easily smuggle himself aboard while the ships are undergoing repairs.

Anyway will be calling this for reals today.

Sorry folks literally had everything ready to post yesterday by RL stuff sent me afk indefinitely. However Sil I've already tallied up the scores and done the scenario, so no more arguments at this point. :o

Anyway will be calling this match in a few hours, for real. For actual reals.

Well... Fine... Though I am still posting what I had been working on, just because it would be a shame to merely delete it without it being seen, points or no... Blast, it was only 6/14 of the way finished... CURSE YOU SLEEP! :( Points or no, I am posting it dangnabit! (It was supposed to be my closing argument after all)

The Closing Argument:

Topics

1. IDD Eclipsing RR monetarily

2. Bankrupting RR early on

3. Lack of reinforcements or support due to credit issues

4. Jerec's Political Maneuvering

5. Drop Pods and You!

6. Detailed Invasion Plan

7. Things that RR Lacks

8. Populace, Locations, and Public Opinion

9. Jerec and Desann's skills

10. How the Vengeance will Survive

11. Sabotage!!!

12. Intelligent Droids

13. Without Kuat, LK loses

14. Inquisition of Corellia

1.

Before I go into the detailed version, going to give a brief bullet point list of the main factors.

- IG-88 and Jerec's personal fortunes

- Commerce Guild is dedicated to making credits more so than most organizations

- Inquisitorius has a very low up-keep

- RI has a large up-keep due to scale and nature of agents

- KDY has NEVER worked for free, always demanding payment

- Sunrider, Cody, and Windu have 0 credits combined (Jedi and Clones aren't paid, nor is any fortune mentioned)

- KDY has a history of willing to sacrifice its shipyards than take sides in Rebel vs Empire conflicts

- Commerce Guild has given units and assets to a cause before, during the Clone Wars for the CIS

- Even during the Galactic Civil War, KDY still charged all customers full price (even rebels, who they favored)

Kuat's utter refusal to allow ANYONE to take the shipyards from them.

"Kuat of Kuat managed to respond to all of the threats—he placated Palpatine by having KDY absorb an unplanned cost overrun in a series of battlecruisers, and he set into motion a plan that would implicate Xizor in the death of Owen and Beru Lars, hopefully setting the Rebels and Black Sun against each other. This plan failed, however, when the evidence fell into the hands of Boba Fett, along with the Kuati noble Kateel of Kuhlvult. Kuat attempted to kill Boba Fett to destroy the evidence, which was useless after the death of Xizor, and could lead back to Kuat.

Kuat of Kuat also had to react to a political play by the other major families on Kuat, led by the Knylenn family. The families bribed Fenald, the Chief of Security for KDY, into aiding their attempt to overturn the Inheritance Exemption. The attempt failed, and Fenald was exposed as a spy. He was replaced by Kodir of Kuhlvult. Kuat did not entirely trust his new chief of security, and became increasingly paranoid, to the point where he ordered the shipyards to be wired with explosives.

His suspicion was merited; Kodir had been the one to hire Fenald. The entire incident had merely been a ploy for her to become chief of KDY security. In the lead-up to the Battle of Endor, many of these plots came to a head. The Rebel Alliance stationed a squadron of Y-wings in the shipyards to watch over the system and ensure that the Empire did not receive the latest batch of heavy warships. Kodir managed to retrieve the evidence against Xizor from Boba Fett as well as Kateel, promptly returning to Kuat and meeting with the Rebel squadron. Kodir offered a deal with the Rebels—if they would help her take control of Kuat Drive Yards, she would provide support for the Alliance.

Kuat of Kuat managed to hear the conversation, and decided not to allow anyone to have the shipyards. He began the self-destruction of the shipyard facilities. The Rebel squadron took the opportunity to move in and attempt to steal a number of warships, mainly Lancer-class frigates and EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigates. At the same time, Boba Fett arrived to question Kuat as to why the Technician had been attempting to kill him, and after a brief conversation, Fett took control of the large warship Kuat had chosen as his tomb. While Kuat of Kuat committed suicide, Fett piloted the ship out of the dock, cutting the link for the self-destruct sequence. The explosions ended, with 80% of the docks remaining intact. " Summary from the Wiki, though I know from reading the book that this is from 'Boba Fett: A Practical Man'.

Things to be taken from this summary:

- KDY gives no one free services, not even the GE during its prime. Best they got was them covering overtures.

- Kuat shipyards are covered in explosives set by the Kuat's orders

- 20% of the shipyards were destroyed in the span of a short conversation

- Any attempt to take control of the shipyards will be met with their destruction

- Kuat of Kuat will not sit idly by and let the RR take advantage of them

So, that now brings us to how the IDD profits from any of this. Well, its simple really...

- IDD can afford to pay KDY (If nothing else, personal banks)

- Jerec has a VERY good history with them (He bought multiple flagships from them. Including a SSD)

- Kuat can refuse to service RR fleet due to lack of compensation (they don't work for free)

- If the RR tries to take the shipyards by force, they lose them completely

Result if Successful (Which... the IDD really doesn't have to DO anything... Just be in the battle)

- RR without repairs

- Lack of Vehicular reinforcements

- Possible increase for IDD numbers

2.

Main components that will lead to the assets available to the RR ending up under the IDD's control, though it plays a part in other topics as well. Putting it all under the same topic would make it quite a mouthful!

- IG-88's Hacking skills

- Lack of a RR counter-part

- Working behind the scenes like this is just like IG-88 (he did nearly pull off a droid revolution undetected, after all)

- Can be done from nearly anywhere (Thank you Space-Internet and Galactic Economic System!)

- Having hacked the Executor undetected in record time (I would be surprised if the bank had a more secure system...)

- Jerec is quite good at scheming and this is right up his alley idea wise

- Inquisitors strike at RI HQ

- It is likely that the Inquisitorius already knows where the HQ is, but if not, given their skills shouldn't take more than a week to find, max. They found Jedi all across the galaxy. They can find an HQ on Imperial Center. 1/2 there already.

- With RI reeling from Inquisitorius attack, and IG-88 playing with bank numbers, their financial situation will be... bad...

- Jerec has used his influence and power to obtain great wealth quickly before, this would merely be a new method

"Enslave them. Guarantee that they will do whatever I ask. Do that, and I will give you whole worlds to conquer."―Jerec

"In some places, such as the first Death Star, credits could be accessed via a debit code. Credits could be transferred or withdrawn from an account card. These were usually used by sabacc or pazaak players. Bounty hunters also received an agreed amount of credits after completing a task or mission. " (Wiki)

"A debit code was a personal code used for debit transactions. Retail stores on the first Death Star took debit codes as well as hard currency. " (Wiki)

"The IBC will be essential in financing the war we will slowly foment. We will need the Banking Clan to finance the manufacturers of weapons and to sustain an alternative economy for the eventual enemies of the Republic."

―Darth Plagueis to his apprentice, Darth Sidious. (Darth Plagueis)

Obstacles to be overcome

- RR members account data (mainly Nek) *IG-88 being stopped by a Pass Word? Ha!*

- Stopping them from being reimbursed by the bank (Could simply re-direct it to double their pay off)

- Access (might not be available on Corellia, but then... there is the IG-2000)

- IG-88 has not done so previously as he has no interest in credits. However, Jerec knows the value they play in regards to the Kaggath and the battle being waged.

IG-88 vs Automated Defense Systems

"IG-88B departed from Mechis III, soaring into space in the sleek IG-2000.

Despite its aerodynamic shape, the IG-2000 created a ripple of sonic booms as it screamed through Bespin's atmosphere, distorting the cloud tops. As he arrowed toward his destination, the automated defenses of Cloud City sent out a query, taking care of the initial inspection before alerting any human guards to the assassin droid's approach.

IG-88 transmitted command codes and a breakdown in programming, squelching the normal routines of Cloud City's defense network. As a result, the alarm sensors left him alone, and the human observers in Kerros Tower did not see even a blip on their traffic grid."

- Taken from I Think, Therefore I am

What this quote essentially indicates:

- IG-88 routinely shut down automated systems that could endanger his missions before anything could be done

- Didn't even register on the computers and the programming being broken down and completely crushed

- All done while he was flying and without noticeable effort

- Might be able to help against the CGT

-- It may detect him, but he may be able to counter-act it and defeat it before even a blip is shown, much like here

-- Other than the fact that CGT pick up ships that are other wise stealthed, they are not that different from standard sensors in how they work.

-- It doesn't even have to be instantaneous, merely quicker than a human would notice which he has done in many different activities. Such as hacking the Executor, hacking Mechis III, taking over the DS II...

Results if Successful

- RI credits squandered on new HQ, equipment, and ect (if not stolen out right)

- Nek's personal banks emptied out (Much less defense I am sure than an entire companies account)

- A possible way for IG-88 to defeat the CGT

- Increase in IDD's own funds

3.

A result of multiple factors, I will keep this topic short and simple. Hopefully.

- Bankruptcy of the RR early on

- IDD Eclipsing RR monetarily

- Lack of Factories near RR's Corellia HQ

- To produce on site takes credits and materials, not to mention man power

- KDY does not give things for free, it is unprecedented

- Past factions have not had any way to accomplish this, making it a possible blind side

-- (Imagines them trying to purchase replacement fighters or vehicles, and getting declined :p :p :p Cue denial )

*Insert any quotes having to do with money being needed to buy things or to get things done*

Results if Successful (Really a culmination of past two topics)

- RR receives little to no reinforcements

- Volunteers can not be armed or compensated

- Can not make use of local factories (Unless they want to send soldiers to work them... :D )

- Decrease in Morale

4.

Lets start off with some history!

- Jerec was often a participant in the Imperial Palace Political Games, in other words, he played with the big boys

- He also is known to be EXTREMELY charismatic, surprisingly enough *Part of how he converted other Jedi*

- Manipulation is a huge part of his character as well, often using it to keep others off balance

- Has previously been able to convince Moffs to donate Billions of credits to his account

"Recognition is sweet, is it not? However, remember that recognition is a gift given by those who have power to those who do not."

―Jerec to Kyle Katarn

What ever could he do?

- Turn public opinion through Corellian Representatives

- Gain rights to certain zones, resources, or deny such to the RR

- Deprive the RR of aid

- Gain further financial support

- Legitimize the invasion (Going after the Jedi and that is all spiel *cue clip of Jedi atrocities from GE propaganda* )

"He possessed an ability to earn the respect of others and through his charisma cause them to look up to him. He was able to attract Sariss and earn her admiration; she continued to seek his approval throughout her career; it was of considerable importance to her to have it.[7][18] Yun especially was desperate to please Jerec. Simple appeals to his "need" for Yun's help and assignments to supervise tasks built Yun's self-esteem and left him glowing with Jerec's goodwill. On the shuttle trip from Vengeance to Ruusan, Jerec entertained Yun throughout the entire flight with amusing anecdotes and stories; Jerec had charm and charisma which he could use at will when he found it appropriate.[18]" (The Dark Forces Saga, Part 3: Pride of the Dark Side) (Dark Forces: Jedi Knight)

"However, despite being out only for himself, he was not above swearing false allegiance to other masters. He claimed loyalty to the Pentastar Alignment, the splinter state set up by his old financier, Grand Moff Ardus Kaine. There Jerec became a Great InQuestor of Judgment, Kaine's regime's version of an Inquisitor,[2] and Jerec brought in many former Inquisitors to join the order's ranks.[20] Whether his public allegiance to Kaine was well-known or not, his second was not; Jerec covertly swore allegiance to the Prophets of the Dark Side—not the pretenders vying with Ysanne Isard for power, but the genuine Prophets, now in hiding, who had tutored him in the past.[2] Jerec tutored all his Dark Jedi on the basics of the Prophets' Dark Force religion;" (The Dark Forces Saga, Part 6: Outcasts and Megalomaniacs Welcome) (The Imperial Warlords: Despoilers of an Empire, Part 1,)

Results if Successful

- Increased support of IDD

- Decreased support of RR

- Influence spreading and Jerec's personal power expanding

Bonus Fact

- Christopher Neame, the guy who played Jerec in Dark Forces II, did multiple voices in SWTOR. I shall now and forever see if I can find them, just for the heck of it. Thank you, x12 xp and my desire to make so many... alts!

5.

Key things concerning the drop pods:

- They leave hyperspace within target planets atmosphere

- Can carry multiple small units, or singular large units

- Option to cause an explosion on impact, to clear the LZ

- Possible to use them as legal bombardment, since they are the deployment of troops, albeit aggressively

"One devastating feature of the launch pods was the ability to explode on contact with a Rebel planet, which softened the Rebel forces just prior to the attack on Tak Base." (Wiki)

Possible uses:

- Bypass RR blockade pretty easily, providing constant supply on DT reinforcements

- Assault positions of resistance in IDD territory upon exit from hyperspace

- Board RR ships (Crazy, I know... but would be using the marines, the Nova's, so not detracting from PII's)

-- If hangers are open, just gotta maneuver it a bit to make it inside

-- If hangers are closed, aim for a hatch

--- What is this? The Venators appear to have escape pods near the bridge

---- If Nova troopers can get near there, direct access to the bridge

---- If IG-88 manages to fool the CGT *using previously mentioned method* perhaps make use of this

Issues for the RR

- Hard to stop

- Impossible to predict arrival

- Emerge very close to the planet

- Small, fast, and hard to anticipate where they will appear

- Could cause problem for any fortified positions in IDD territory

"Dark trooper: Release."

―General Rom Mohc

"This is Tak Base to anybody out there...please...we're under Imperial attack...they're everywhere, there was no warning at all...Total devastation! They broke through our shields...They broke through our shields!"

―Admiral Toka

"The dark troopers easily pierced Tak's shields, and attacked with high precision and speed - the assault was so sudden that the Rebels had no chance to defend themselves let alone retaliate.

Captain Bok attempted an evacuation of the base with Toka's flagship, the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Grey Damsel, and managed to escape with an unknown number of Rebels. Bok wanted to also rescue Admiral Toka from the surface, however Toka insisted that Bok leave without him and save the others. The fate of the second Mon Calamari Cruiser is unknown, but it was likely disabled before it could lift off, or it was destroyed by the blockading Executor.

Admiral Toka managed to transmit a general distress signal, however the transmission was cut short, and Toka was shot by a dark trooper.

The crew of the Grey Damsel also suffered a similar fate, for they had failed to notice that a dark trooper had slipped aboard the ship. Bok and crew were all killed by the dark trooper as the ship entered hyperspace.

The dark troopers caused total devastation of the base and its surrounding city, resulting in a massive amount of Rebel and civilian casualties. Darth Vader was most impressed with the assault, and gave Mohc full support for the project. " (Wiki)

Results if Successful

- Constant supply of new DT

- Very frequent drops of lesser quality droids such as 501-Z, Chameleon, and Repair droids

- Blockade being unable to stop reinforcements, unless they move very close to planet

-- We already went over if they are too close and shut down power to stop IG-88...

9.

To put it quite simply, both Jerec and Desann are being quite underrated in regards to their skills. Let us fix that.

- Jerec can simply be fixed by people looking here and looking through the data

- Desann however, I will be explaining quite a bit here

"Thanks to you, the weakling Jedi who scorned me shall soon be erased from history, replaced by a new race of warriors; strong warriors, warriors who know that the Force is not a shield to protect the useless… but is, in reality, a weapon… to empower the worthy!"

―Desann to Kyle Katarn

Feats of Note

- Collapsing a metal bridge with a casual wave

- Completely mentally dominating Kyle Katarn with Illusions that appear extremely real

- BFR'd NJO LUKE SKYWALKER using telekinesis (BFR = Battle Field Removal)

- Collapsed a stone ceiling with a precise and quick saber throw

- Casually chokes Kyle Katarn as well as various other Jedi Knights

- Force Lightning successfully used against Jedi Knights, to lethal effect

- Led a force of Dark Jedi and Stormtroopers against the NJO, penetrating to its heart, to its Nexus

Things People Need to Remember

- Style of combat dominated most foes

-- Quick

-- Strong

-- Longer reach

-- Ferocity due to his mind set

-- Noted as incredibly difficult to block his strikes due to range, speed, and strength

- Armored in PII armor

-- Has had multiple matches to become accustomed to it

-- PII Armor plays completely to his strengths (Reach, strength, durability...)

-- He is used to wearing armor unlike most force users of the time even before using the PII armor

- Exceedingly Brutal

- Despite his demeanor, Extremely Intelligent

-- Developed a way to transfer force energy from one being to another, granting them force affinity

-- Planned and executed successfully an assault on the NJO Temple (It failed not due to the plan, but due to striking too soon, with his Cultists not being as well trained as the Jedi Knights) *He did make it all the way to its heart after all*

-- Despite Rogue Squadron defending the Temple's air space, managed to get the majority of his troops to the surface

-- Deceived Katarn, making him believe Jann was dead

--- He used this to push Katarn to deciding to return to the Valley of Jedi to retake his power. He did this on purpose since the ship had a tracker placed on it, and then Desann siphoned the power.

-- Despite his short time as a student of Lukes he accomplished much, lots of potential

--- Only a brief period of training under Luke, yet surpassed the majority of his students

--- Immediately afterward he was capable of training others decently enough in the force (didn't have much time)

"Desann hailed from a world where the Force was a strange, unfamiliar thing. Thus, he was shunned by his own people and lived a life of loneliness and despair, until a trader found him and took him to Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4. " (wiki)

"He eventually killed Havet Storm, one of his fellow Jedi, for standing up to his bullying ways and claimed that he was "too weak to be a Jedi." " (wiki)

"Hethrir overcame his xenophobia to make Desann his second in command, and tasked Desann with training several of Hethrir's Empire Youths: Force-sensitive individuals who had shown devotion to the Empire Reborn and had been "purified" by the extradimensional being known as Waru. Desann took one of the Youths, Tavion Axmis, as his apprentice.

In addition to training those with talent, Desann experimented with imbuing Force-weak Human Empire Youths (chosen by Hethrir for reasons of racial dogma rather than pragmatism) with dark side powers, using Artusian crystals and Sith alchemical secrets." (wiki)

"Chistori had large snouts, with a hinged jaw and a mouthful of teeth, and small eyes. They were lithe but strong. [1] Like many reptilian species, they were cold-blooded, and like the Trandoshan, they had a durable hide made out of thick scales.[2]" (wiki)

Conclusion

- Desann is incredibly smart, strong, and skilled

- Despite his short training, he rose above the other Jedi at the Academy

- In a short time he trained a cult of dark siders

- Learned how to imbue others with force power (Only other record of this is from Marko Ragnos, and Vitiate, albeit his method is much closer to science and alchemy than pure strength or subversion/vessels)

Close Remark

- Do not underestimate him :jawa_evil:

Most impressive work Sil, considering the effort I'll do my best to tally your points and implement it into the scenario.

Really wasn't expecting that... Anyways, not going to delay you any longer since its that close to be called.

The scenario:

"So this is it. The last stand for the Republic.”

“Not a last stand, Master Sunrider.” Windu replied as they looked out over Corellia.

“Our final triumph. With this victory we will vanquish all that remains of Sith tyranny. The galaxy will know peace.”

“Let us hope so.”

“Have faith, we will not fail.”

* * *

“Would you like another slice of air cake, sir?”

Jerec brushed the servant droid away with a glib gesture. “No, that will be all. Desann?” He said, inclining his head towards the two meter reptilian, who stood with his arms folded behind his chair. “A slice perhaps? It’s quite delicious.”

Desann hesitated, another one of Jerec’s mind games to be certain.

“I hunger only for the deaths of our enemies, master.”

Jerec chuckled. “Of course.” Satisfied with Desann’s response he motioned for the droid to leave.

“Then let us get down to the matter of war, and the final defeat of the Jedi.”

* * *

“What have you found for me, Armand?”

With an elbow resting on an arm and a clawed hand stroking the tendrils on his chin, Nek Bw’uata awaited Armand’s report on the incident that had crippled his flagship.

“Little, I’m afraid, Admiral. That loss of power was by no means accidental, the work of a slicer is the only explanation. But whoever they are they left no record of their entry. The ships black box makes no record of intrusion, or anything untoward.”

“I see, you believe it was tampered with?”

“I do. But that’s all we know. Whoever this slicer is though, they are evidently of exceptional skill, I’d advise taking precautions.”

“Naturally, I’ll keep you updated.”

“Very good, but one more thing, Admiral. If this slicer is indeed as skilled as we believe, he could already have infiltrated your fleet.”

Nek smiled knowingly. “Which is why I’m contacting you from the Enclave, Isard.”

* * *

Narrowly routed by the Nek’s fleet, Admiral Trench makes a hasty retreat to Sullust. Nek however decides not to pursue, instead repairing his fleet and consolidating resources for a second engagement. Material and repair units are shipped in from Kuat and the shipyards begin manufacturing new fighter squadrons to replenish their depleted hangar bays. However seemingly unbeknownst to the Nek and the Resistance, under Jerec’s orders IG-88 takes the opportunity to infiltrate the fleet as it undergoes repairs, systematically rigging the remaining vessels with explosives designed to set off a chain reaction ready to blow the entire fleet to smithereens.

Meanwhile on the planet below, the Imperial Droid Division press their offensive. Unphased by the loss of space superiority they launch a rapid assault on the Republic Resistance. Using their airborne capabilities to quickly mobilise across Coronet City they begin setting up ambush points as the Resistance advances. However despite all the skill of the Third Systems Army and the expertise and experience of their commanders, they are unprepared for the Dark Trooper threat, ambushed and assaulted at every turn they find ranks decimated by overwhelming firepower and seemingly impenetrable armor. Worse yet reports of detonations begin to stream in from across the city as the rocket tram transit system in Resistance territory is sabotaged by cloaked chameleons droids, cutting off the deployed soldiers from reinforcement or retreat.

Their initial assault a catastrophe the Resistance are forced to pull back, but with many of their exit paths closed off many fail to return. Those who do re-join with the remaining force to set up a defence, establishing kill zones and turreting sky scrapers with UT-ATs, the Droid Division hits them hard, but without the advantage of ambush their momentum is slowed, and for the time being, the Resistance holds the line.

* * *

“Director Isard, sir.”

Isard removed his hands from the collaged web of data on the holopanel before him as an aide burst into the control centre.

“What is it?”

“The clones, sir. They’ve apprehended a –”

But the clones had already entered the room, prisoner in tow, and before the aide could finish his sentence Isard had recognised the maroon zeyd-cloth robes of the shackled man in their custody.

“An inquisitor.” He remarked with mild surprise.

“Director Isard.” One of the clones barked. “We captured this one coming out of the SBI building.”

Isard was impressed, he hadn’t expected them to procure results but it would appear he had underestimated them. The Inquisitor’s robes were singed and one side of his face had been bruised a purplish red, it appeared he put up a fight too.

“Armand Isard.” The inquisitor sneered. “So good that you’re here.”

“Quiet, maggot.” One of the clones barked, striking him across the face with the back of his hand as the other held him still.

“It’s all right, gentlemen.” Isard interrupted, raising a hand. “Let the man speak.” He turned to look at the inquisitor as he spat a mixture of blood and saliva from his mouth, locking the man’s eyes in a cool, steel gaze.

“What do you mean, inquisitor?”

The inquisitor smiled, teeth flecked with blood. “Oh you’ll find out soon enough. The Inquisitorius has been here for some time you see, and Lord Jerec already knows where your base of operations is. Any moment now this place will be lain to siege, and every one inside, including yourself, will be slaughtered.”

The inquisitor laughed as flickers of surprise and panic began to circulate among the onlookers of the exchange. “You are not prepared.” He taunted. But Isard didn’t even flinch, instead he smiled, his cool gaze ever steady.

“You think we’re not prepared?” He mocked. “So stupid.” The inquisitor snarled in response. “We’ve been watching you too, inquisitor. In fact we’ve been aware the activities of your organisation from the moment they began snooping around. This is our city, and you’ll find the people of this world are more than happy to cooperate against scum like you.” His smile widened as the inquisitor’s scowl grew deeper.

“How else do you suppose these clones ambushed and apprehended you? Rest assured that the Resistance has furnished us with all we need to repel an assault.”

At that a sudden impact sent a groaning shudder through the walls and floors, several more followed as terminals and holopanels flickered and sparked.

The inquisitor’s scowl turned into a grin. “They’re here. They’re here, and it doesn’t matter how many soldiers your precious Resistance mustered to protect you. You’re no match for the Dark Troopers, you’ll all die, you’ll –”

Isard fired off a round from his pistol into the man’s stomach, and then two more for good measure. The inquisitor choked on his words, slumped in hands of the clone trooper and was then allowed to drop to the plated permacite floor.

Accompanied only by the stunned silence of control room, Isard’s measured steps took him to a control panel where he activated a comlink.

“Attention all stations, we are under attack. I repeat we are under attack. Activate Emergency Protocol 68 immediately.”

And with those words the silence was broken, and the control room became alive with renewed activity.

* * *

As the Inquisitorius lay siege to Republic Intelligence Headquarters, they are met with a force of clone troopers and Jedi and an array of defensive mechanisms and anti-droid technology, however even with the environmental advantage the Inquisitorius secures a foothold, and Coruscant becomes a battle zone.

Meanwhile in the skies above Corellia, Trench’s fleet, rearmed and operational, makes its return, eager to press the Droid Division’s advance by breaking through the whittled fleet of Venators and Acclamators blockading the planet.

* * *

“Proceed with caution, captain”

“Of course, sir.”

Trench cut the comm channel and turned all six eyes on the fleet in the distance before him. Three Venator-class star destroyers, and five Acclamator-class cruisers. It had come to Trench’s immediate attention that one Acclamator was missing, and yet, IG-88, whom Jerec had had implanted on the Nek’s new flagship, had uncovered no communications or logistical data that indicated its whereabouts.

Trench was expecting a trap. Though he knew little of his opponent, “Admiral Nek Bw’uata”, but after watching a holo recording of their battle over and over he had concluded that he was dealing with an exceedingly cunning adversary, and one who could, by some unknown means, predict his strategies.

A Jedi perhaps? They were known to have precognitive abilities. But was no matter, thanks to IG-88 the fleet before him might well be a set of floating tombs. The bombs had been placed on a countdown that aligned with his return, and before they even entered firing range, the fleet before him would be vaporised.

They drew several klicks closer. He could imagine cannons acquiring firing solutions, fighters being prepped for launch.

“Detonations detected, sir!” Trench extended towards the view port as in rapid succession billowing flames erupted from the vessels before him, bursts of smoke and shrapnel flung into space. But the vessels remained intact.

“They should have been vaporised!” Trench snarled. A miscalculation perhaps? In order to destroy vessels of such size with limited explosives they would have to go off in nanoseconds of each other, if any one explosion failed, the chain reaction would not take effect, and the vessel would not be destroyed. Had the bombs malfunctioned?

At this moment it did not matter. The fleet had not been destroyed but damaged was enough, they already had the firepower to wipe them out and now was the time to capitalise on the opportunity.

“Move the fleet into firing range, destroy those ships!”

* * *

Anticipating another attempt at sabotage Nek had the ships thoroughly searched and the explosives subtly adjusted, but not removed, so not to alert the enemy. And luring Trench into a trap his own with the Resistance’s damaged fleet as bait, the Vengeance falls into mine field, disguised by a debris field and sensor jamming technology proximity mines zip towards to Vengeance hull while bleeders sap away at the vessels strength. As the shields deplete Nek dispatches fighter swarms to further pummel away at its failing defences. The remainder of Trench’s fleet force to keep its distance to avoid the mine field and the Vengeance unable to shoot back for fear of triggering a chain reaction, the fighter swarms launch their offense nigh unopposed.

The shields fall and Nek’s plan moves on to the second stage, utilising the gravity mines attached to the Vengenace’s hull the missing Acclamator class cruiser emerges from hyperspace like a thrusting dagger, stabbing at the Vengeance’s exposed belly and rupturing it. Explosives detonate, tearing through steel and sending shrapnel fire and smoke in all directions. And then like twin suns the two reactor cores ignite, coalescing into an expanding maelstrom of destructive energy that wipes out Trench, his flagship, and the remainder of his fleet.

With one fell swoop the Imperial Droid Division’s fleet is decimated, and the failed assault deals a devastating blow to the Droid Division’s war machine as the cruisers stocked with reinforcements never arrive.

And so the Resistance begin to push back, with the help of public support capturing several factory districts to manufacture EMP and ion weaponry, and enlisting the assistance of Corellian traders and smugglers to acquire more anti-droid weaponry. With civilian aid they manage to re-establish supply lines and with Selonian assistance uncover a network of underground tunnels by which they bypass enemy lines. Now armed with more effective weapons the Resistance regains the offense, using ion rifles, carbines and cannons to disable Dark Troopers on land and in the skies, and equipping UT-ATs with bomblet generators to generate squad destroying storms of ionising energy.

But the Imperial Droid Division is far from beaten, successfully capturing a city wide communications tower, IG-88 broadcasts droid supremacy programming to millions of droids across the city. Rising up against their masters they begin causing havoc and IG-88 musters them against the Republic Resistance, performing mass sabotage on infrastructure. The Resistance attempt to turn to Republic Intelligence for aid, but the situation on Coruscant has worsened, driven from their headquarters they are forced to scatter in all directions, resources in tatters and many agents unaccounted for they are unable to provide assistance, of further intelligence reports. Worse yet IG-88 is set upon the Resistance's bank accounts, hacking in and stealing funds, dealing a heavy blow to their already dwindling monetary resources.

The war takes another turn, the Imperial Droid Division, receiving reinforcements via drop pods, and capitalising on the Resistance’s initial losses, push back, invading the Selonian tunnels and slaughtering them in droves, and with the Resistance’s forces spread thin, seize and opportunity to strike at the Green Jedi Enclave.

* * *

“You’re sure we can defeat them alone, master?” Desann grumbled as the pair stood in the turbolift rocketing upward towards the council spire.

“Mace Windu’s skills with the blade are legendary” he continued “and Nomi Sunrider’s power is –”

“Exaggerated.” Jerec interrupted. “Do not lose your nerve now Desann, and besides, we are not alone.” Jerec motioned to the pair of hulking obsidian dark trooper accompanying him, but Desann knew he referred to more than just them.

“Of course, master. We will crush them.”

Moments later the turbolift reached the top, and with a dulcet tone the doors slid apart. Jerec stepped out, his great black cape billowing in his wake.

Jerec could hear the sounds of battle as he approached the balcony, and, resting his gloved hands atop the rail he looked down at the circular chamber to bear witness to Mace Windu and Nomi Sunrider fending off a pair of Phase II dark troopers. At that moment Windu sliced the weapon of his opponent in half, then it’s Phrik exoskeleton ruptured and groaned as Windu lifted it up with the Force and crushed it, before slamming the broken machine into Nomi’s attacker, destroying them both in a mess of metal and sparks.

“Most impressive, Master Windu.” Jerec interrupted and the two Jedi whipped about to face Jerec and Desann who looked down on them from atop the balcony.

“Now, perhaps you’d like a real challenge?”

“That wouldn’t be you would it?” Windu retorted. “Get behind me Master Sunrider, I’ll deal with these two.”

Nomi frowned. “With all due respect, I sense great power emanating from these two, you can’t defeat them alone, let us fight together, as one.”

“You should listen to the Grandmaster.” Jerec said as he leapt from the balcony to gracefully levitate to the floor, Desann followed, dropping down with a thud and a growl.

Jerec ignited his crimson weapon and Desann followed suit. And but split seconds later Windu and Nomi have activated their own lightsabers.

Jerec smiled, licking his lips in anticipation. “Ready when you are.”

Both pairs burst into action, crimson, violet and emerald twirling and slashing against the backdrop of Corellia’s night sky, as the fate of the galaxy was about to be decided. Glass shattered and a fierce wind tore into the chamber as Jerec unleashed a burst of malevolent energy, shredding Windu’s robes as he narrowly leapt clear. Drawing deep on Vaapad and letting Nomi’s power flow through him he flipped over Jerec’s head in a blur. The inquisitor barely had time to turn as Windu came at him with the full ferocity of the form. One violet blade became a half a dozen, and then half a dozen more, then Jerec could no longer count, as he deflected, parried and riposted in a vain attempt to beat back the snapping vipers.

With one invisible movement Windu brought his foot to connect with Jerec’s jaw, sending him sprawling across the chamber, his lightsaber skittering over the window’s edge and Jerec himself scrambled towards it, Windu’s blade angled at his throat.

“Finish him, Windu!” Nomi cried as she struggled to hold back the crushing tide of her opponent, her blade locked with his and Desann pushed back against her.

“I intend to.” And with those words Windu brought his blade to cut, but instead of meeting flesh it met crackling flurry of lightning as violet bolts sprung from Jerec’s fingertips in violent protest, beating Windu’s blade back. He would not give him, not yet, when all he need do was buy a little more time…

Then came the sound of something small and needle-like zipping through the air, a millisecond on behind the tiny thud of something dark like sinking into flesh. Finally, IG-88 had taken his shot.

Nomi cried out, clapping a hand to the claw dart that had embedded itself in her neck. She felt her strength fail as her muscles seized up and her vision blurred, and then with a vicious slash Desann threw Nomi back, the force of his attack ripping her blade from it’s limp grip. And then in a split second Desann’s massive saber came back around and sliced her across the stomach.

She collapsed to the ground, unmoving.

“Nomi!” Windu cried, and at that moment Jerec unleashed a surge of power into its still crackling lightning, blowing Windu back. And as he staggered Jerec rolled away, leaping to his feet to join Desann.

“It’s over. We’ve won.”

“No,” Windu thrust his blade at them in protest “the oppression of the Sith will never return, I refuse to surrender!”

With his last four words Windu leapt at them, descending on the pair with his blade upraised. Jerec snarled and Desann roared, and the dark side surging to their fingertips unleashed a torrent of Force lightning at the Jedi. Two dozen violet arcs snapped and slapped at his blade, two dozen more bit and singed his robes and a malevolent wave of energy blasted him back, sending his smoking and crackling body out of the window before it fell into blackness.

Jerec exhaled deeply, allowing the dark side to wash over him and he approached the window. The sun was rising over the distant horizon, casting a crimson light over the city.

Jerec smiled. “It’s a new dawn.”

The Imperial Droid Division is victorious.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: THIS DEBATE IS CLOSED

Congratulations to Silenceo, the new Grand Champion of the Kaggath!

And thanks to everyone who has participated. This tournament has been going on for almost a year now, and we've had some fantastic debates and some fantastically built factions. Also very much thank you to my fellow arbiters for taken over some matches, and allowing me to step in and teach you all some manners. :jawa_evil:

But the announcements aren't quite over yet. Those veterans of the Kaggath might remember at the conclusion to the original Kaggath Tournament I crowned Aurbere and Warren-Stride King and Queen of the Kaggath, for their debating talent and their dedication. Well that time has come again, fear not your majesties your thrones are not in jeopardy.

But there is a certain knighthood up for grabs. And so without further ado behold the newly knighted:

Sir Silenceo!

Despite being a newcomer to the Kaggath, Silenceo bested us all, his faction was masterfully crafted, his debating skills most impressive, his bullet points ever formidable, and most importantly his conduct and his humour, even in the face flaming and rage, serves as an example to us all. Truly deserved of our respect. Well done sir.

But now for the future. First and foremost there is one old and one new project I'd like to draw your attention to:

  1. The REAL Most Powerful Rebooted - now the Kaggath has come to a close, this project is no longer suspended, and I've posted some stuff for us to discuss. So check that out if your interested/involved.

  2. For those of you not interested in debating Force Users, check out The REAL Most Talented Tacticians, which is exactly what it sounds like, a similar project designed to rank the best tacticians in Star Wars mythos.

  3. A new player based vs. series that myself along with Aurbere and Selenial have been working on. It won't start for a little while but submissions are being taken right now, so check that out here for more details.

And finally in the more distant future I have

that I've been working on, no details as of yet. But here's a clue. So yeah, stay tuned for that and I hope you guys enjoy it when it comes.

Anyway what about the Kaggath? I know folks are eager for another tournament but with all the stuff above going on its been postponed. Fear not it will arrive, and when it does you'll certainly be able to use some Knights of the Fallen Empire stuff for your factions, and perhaps even some stuff from The Force Awakens. So that'll be cool.

And that's it, thanks again folks and have fun.

Well... This is unexpected...

I do wonder though, how much of an impact that closing argument had... (Merely because there are references to it)

Not everything went exactly as planned, but the logic as to why it did not makes sense. I will say that the final duel felt very much like how they would go about the fight, especially with how Desann sent Nomi flying. :D

Overall a very enjoyable read and awesome visual. I was not expecting such a victory however, tbh.

As for the Title, that I am a little blind sided by. Though, it is quite nice, and makes me feel a little shy/embarrassed to be commended after all of this debating. Silly, I know. :o :o :o :o :o

Side Note: Bullet Points > Unlimited Power

Congratulations Silenceo! You actually got an official title too, still waiting on the Usurper :p

Seriously though, well deserved. Finally getting Jerec recognised too!

Perhaps next tournament for that title. :jawa_evil: To be fair, it would of been fitting this tournament as well seeing the IDD's record. An Usurper defeats and over comes the rulers.

Warren - Round 1 (Queen)

Aurbere - Round 2 (King)

Beni - Round 2 (Emperor)

Would of been quite fitting. :p But Sir/Knight fits much better with my style.

As for Jerec... I am not done yet! *Cue the team battles*

Perhaps, but I let a Warren take the tournament then beat her for fun :p I jest though, I've been hounding Beni for my precious title for about a year now :D

Good, Jerec was put at a 20 originally in the tournament and I had to explain why that can't happen. Definitely needs more respect, I expect great things.

Even at 25, he is quite a steal worth vs cost wise. That said, the 25 is well deserved due to his noted weaknesses. Though, his strengths do help balance them out. I might argue that Desann should be 25 instead of 20 though (would just make my team 100 instead of 95) because not only is he quite good in saber combat due to his style and unique characteristics, but he is also smart. While inferior to Jerec, it isn't actually by all that much. Different strengths, different weaknesses.

The part I love about Desann, is that he is not only a Saber Brute... He is a SMART Saber Brute with some dark side powers that usually only Sorcerers possess.

As for your title, only Beni can do such. :p (For the Kaggath anyways)

I will say that Darth Vader, Jerec, and Desann should work very well together. From the Kaggath it is easy to see how Desann might be sub-servant to Jerec (and understandably why, consider how he references Jerec in his appearances) and while Jerec had planned to usurp Vader, he was respectful enough to not do so openly. So while Jerec and Vader may not be best of buds, they are definitely on the same side in regards to those battles.
