Bonus Damage and Dual Wielding Classes

I remember reading on PvP or class forum something like this:

The reason why gore ravage is not worth it anymore and why vengeance ravage is stronger than carnage ravage is that they changed it so bonus damage would only boost up your primary weapon not your secondary weapon.

Is this true? Can anyone confirm it? I am asking this because as my merc is approaching lvl 60 I am facing the age-old question of mainstat or power aug, and I am thinking if what I mentioned above is true, does it not make power / bonus damage complete garbage?

Thanks very much for your replies and helps!

It's true. You can tell it from the coefficients.

Mag Shot for example:

Attack: Coefficient 2.47, Stdh min 0.247, Stdh max 0.247, Multiplier 0.65

Offhand Attack: Coefficient 0, Stdh min 0, Stdh max 0, Multiplier 0.65

Ability damage = Coefficient * Bonusdamage + [stdh min; stdh max] * 3185 + (1 + Multiplier) * Weapondamage

As you can see Offhand attack is only affected by Weapondamage.

Huh? Wouldn't that make commandos do massively more damage than mercs?

No, because the only difference in the 2 damage is the weapon damage part:

Ability damage = Coefficient * Bonus damage + [stdh min; stdh max] * 3185 + (1 + Multiplier) * Weapon damage

Bonus damage and standard health is the same. Weapon damage for Commando is higher than Merc but they make up for it with the offhand.

Ability damage = Coefficient * Bonusdamage + [stdh min; stdh max] * 3185 + (1 + Multiplier) * Weapon damage

Offhand damage = 0 * Bonusdamage + 0 * 3185 + (1 + Multiplier) * Offhand Weapon damage

Commando Weapon damage ~ Merc Weapon damage + Merc offhand Weapon damage
