idnewton
I just thought of something. Has iron ever been referenced as a metal in all of Star Wars? I can't think of any instance where it is. If that's the case, why would the Mandalorian's name "Ironfist" hold any meaning in the Star Wars universe?
jovianus
Don't see any reason to think it doesn't exist. As for lack of reference, maybe it's just not useful anymore and/or only as a small part of various exotic alloys. And 'Plasteelfist' doesn't really have the same ring to it. DarthDymond
"Mandalorian Iron" aka Beskar has been referenced many times as a material in Star Wars fiction - it is a very durable, lightsaber-resistant metal. I think I remember generic "iron" being mentioned elsewhere as well, such as in the Lost Tribe of Sith novellas where it was noted by its absence on the metal-poor planet Kesh. BrianDavion
thing is, that unalloyed metals in the SW universe are proably with few exceptions, seen as laughably primitive.
