Shayddow
In many story lines, we are told that force-users exhibit and manifest abilities as children, even if they do not "know" that what they are using is "the force". For instance, the Emperor killed his step-father at age 6, Anakin used the "force" to help him pod-race, in the mines both Bane and later Kyp utilized their powers to keep themselves alive, to fight, etc. Why, this being the case, in the original SW series in episode 4 "a new hope", are Luke's abilities such a surprise to him? Granted being raised with a moisture farmer on Tat, there were not many opportunities for them to present themselves, but still, you would think that he would have had some clue that he was somehow "different". Aurbere
There were some occasions when Luke used the Force as a child, but, as far as I'm aware, they were pretty subtle.
